We finally had fantastic conditions for viewing the underwater world this month and captured some incredible shots. I've decided to try something new and give props to all of you who timestamped these incredible finds because the recap wouldn't exist without you. There are a few shots without names because they were either at the beginning of the month before I started jotting down names with timestamps or because yours truly (me) timestamped them. There were so many amazing timestamps this month, and I started with 156 recap-worthy finds but could only fit about 30ish of them in the recap. So, thank you to every single one of you. If your find didn't make it, please know that it wasn't an easy task to select the best clip to fit in with the music. Also, I'm sorry if I misspelled anyone's name; sometimes I can't read my chicken scratch.
Now, let's move on to the highlights of this month. The pompano, turtles, snook, tarpon, cero, and goggle eyes are making a comeback, which tells us winter is over! And the minnows, WOW, what a fantastic display they put on. It was almost certain that predators like blue runners and barracudas would be on the hunt when they were around. Countless clips of barracuda strikes were captured this month. Several different types of fry fish and juveniles were spotted, such as pork fry, blue-headed wrasse, sergeant majors, and another unidentified fry. The cormorant, nature's own self-propelled artist! Its "bubble butt" certainly adds a certain je ne sais quoi to its diving escapades. But hey, I'll spare you my potty humor commentary... this time. 🐦💨 /without a doubt, the highlight of the month was the mesmerizing shot of the hammerhead! In fact, it stuck around for most of the day, treating us to a plethora of unbelievable shots. Another notable return was the guitarfish, and upon reflection, it seems that every sighting of the guitarfish has occurred in January, February, and March for the past several years. Based on this pattern, I'll be surprised if we spot it again this year.
