A brief overview of the Newark Nail Goddesses, a look at the challenges of having long nails, critical opinions as they relate to body shaming, and the joy of the club.
I’ve never understood the stereotype that long nails are nasty or ‘witch like’. We do not judge people who grow their hair to their ankles or individuals with porcelain skin. If these ladies are taking care of themselves, mindful of what they touch, & properly clean their hands & nails frequently, what’s the issue??
Everyone has their thing. These nails are a creative outlet. These women are having fun expressing themselves. I love anyone who is able to feel free and confident to do what makes them feel good. Beautiful girls!
I wear my nails between 2 to 3" & it's just part of who I am. I experience the same things you discussed but politely hold my own. They have no business being rude if you don't like long nails thats fine, but it didn't give you permission to be unkind to people. You lady's look beautiful!❤💕
Awesome, good job. Very interesting to learn that their nails actually had less germs than the average person's. I think they look cool, but could never deal with having nails like those myself!
Who raises these people that literally just say these hateful & disrespectful things to strangers?? These women TAKE CARE of their nails MORE SO than the normal person. I struggle to grow nails, but I love the Nail Goddesses! This is an amazing group of beautiful ladies. I would love to hang & be friends with them.
As a nail tech I would LOVE if she’d make more videos about doing long nails. I love long nails! I’ve had them since I was 16. My nails where always clean and I took better care of them then my hair.
Why do people judge each other based on their appearance? The Newark Nail Goddesses provide an important lesson about first impressions. Watch the video and ask yourself "who am I?". Am I the person who is open minded, non-judgmental, or do I have opinions about topics that I may not know much about? If you are honest you might be surprised at the answer. I was. The Newark Nail Goddesses video helps me get in touch with the humanity in all of us and brings to mind the old adage "live and let live".
It's pretty difficult to be accepting of someone as a person overall when you're horrified or sickened by how they look in some way. These nails are absolutely disgusting looking, no matter how well the technician does the art work on them.
@@CalmAtHome You certainly have a right to have an opinion and I’m sorry that you feel so strongly about them. As a filmmaker I find it fascinating because I realize that my reality is based on my interpretation of things. Show me what somebody is looking at and I’ll tell you what they see. .I’ve met all of the women and they’re absolutely wonderful. When I see them for who they are as people what they look like becomes irrelevant. The point is they’re doing something that makes them happy. We all should be allowed in this world to do what makes us happy regardless of what other people perceive. Could you agree to that?
Screw all those rude, disgusting, disrespectful human beings who shame these long nails goddesses. There is something seriously wrong w you if you think these women don’t work hard. The long nails and community makes them happy, makes them feel good OBVIOUSLY otherwise they wouldn’t be doing it so how can somebody shame them for being happy. Foh. YOU GO GIRLS. LOVE IT. 💕

Almost all men dislike overly long nails, not sure why women keep doing this to themselves. It is not attractive. Even worse if it's fake glued on nails.
What I don't understand is that these ladies grow their nails to ten, twelve, sixteen inches, whilst if my nails grow a millimetre too long, they separate from the nail bed and I develop onycholysis! I can't go much longer than an inch, cuticle to free edge.
If you’re wearing acrylic, gel or anything on your nail when this is happening it’s most likely your allergic to something in the products. Otherwise it’s caused by injuries to the nail bed.
I find it interesting that the majority of the long nail goddesses are women of colours, and almost all the critics were white women... I wonder if that says something.
You Are Such A Beautiful Woman I Watched Your Episode When You Told Your Clients That You Are Transgender I Was Like Know Way In Hell 🥰 You Are Absolutely 💯 Woman
People act like they never heard a soap and a nail brush. Wearing 1-2 inch nails I hear these stupid statements all the time. Sometimes even from the nail tech. Y'all gorgeous! I'd be happy to get a plate. I bet you ladies can throw down in the kitchen.
