the sizing suggestion is spot on.... i took bad advice and bought small my first time and never screwed that up again by doing exactly what you said in this video. Buying jeans that FIT when you get them is the best, they only stretch in places that your movement and body makes them stretch.. Wearing a rigid belt that is snug will keep the waist from getting too stretched out. And if they FIT when you first get them with sanforized denim the first soak will snug them up just a tad to where when they stretch over use they literally fit perfect to your body. atleast thats my experience YMMV
Love the no nonsense informative vibe of your channel. This is the exact info in as looking for on the true guy. Sold out everywhere in my size rn :/ so I’ll have to wait but I’ll def get a pair when I can
May be the earliest review of True Guy? I also like this brand, so I am so happy to having found this good video. I am looking forward to releasing Left Hand Twill model.
Trying this fit in the new midnight slub stretch selvedge mainly because they have a zipper. I originally wore easy guy before going strictly weird guy especially for the heavier denim. Testing the fit out before MIJ13 which I believe will be a green cast denim.
Unbranded have always had a straight fit stretch on the 11oz. Think they are naked and famous's sister company. They are very nice but not as high fitting roomy around the waste as the n&f styles. This is s good compromise look and forward to trying them out.
Love this, I think the strong guy was a step in the right direction but they were too wide and the selvedge ID on the change pocket wasn't ideal, these are great. Every raw denim company should have a mid-high rise straight cut, I don't know why so many companies are reluctant to go above an 11" rise..
great idea! Might do it in a couple different videos to compare the naked and famous fits separately and then compare easy guy to Graham fit since they're both relaxed tapers.
Coming to this via the rockabilly scene as I have, this silhouette just cannot be bettered. Flawless fit. And paired with what looks like the Sunray Makaha - what a choice! One quick question - what would you think of more jeans with jacron patches, or maybe cloth patches, as opposed to leather? It's not something I'd even considered until I switched to being vegetarian and I absolutely appreciate that a good quality leather patch can be a really sustainable option, it's just that I think brands may be closing the door on potential customers purely by not offering more non-animal choices.
@@Pemmykemmy I’m going on the hips around 3” below my belly button. I measure where I am wanting the pants to sit so I can try and tell how they’ll fit on the intended spot.
tateandyoko is your goto recommended place to shop? or do you have any recommandation shop in Ontario? i love supporting Canadian businesses but... absolutely hate it when businesses actually based & operate out of Canada only list prices in USD.
Dutil Denim in Toronto is my go to. They list in CAD and you can call for measurements on any products you’re looking at online if you’re shopping online. Dutil is awesome!
I got a couple new pairs of Wranglers that had a nice color wash, but probably already too warm to wear them until next fall. Felt guilty that they were $40 each instead of $25 version. Sigh. Just not a jeans guy most of the year anymore. Oh, and the new Converse are almost NOTHING like the older ones!!
True Guy, Midnight Slub Stretch arrived and I have a few pairs of Nudie Jeans in the Gritty Jackson fit. I will say the True Guy is closer to Nudie's Rad Rufus fit. Inseam length for True Guy I think whether you cuff could also impact your inseam length. I got the inseam hemmed to 32 and I'm wearing them with a small cuff. I normally don't cuff 32 inseam length and would probably go down to a 31.5 inseam in True Guy fit if I didn't want to bother cuffing them.
