This also takes me back 2 years ago, with every trip I did on California, they played this song, and we were singing it. And I was so happy with this song.
The song was used as the jingle in commercials for May Department Stores (Famous-Barr, Filene's, Foley's, Hecht's, Kaufmann's, L.S. Ayres, Meier & Frank, Robinsons-May, Strawbridge's, and The Jones Store), using the chains' slogan "always something exciting!" between 2003 to 2006.
Whoa. I used to hear this song on the radio when I was younger but haven't heard it since I was probably 10 or so (which was 6, almost 7 years ago.) I'm kinda shocked, although glad that I managed to find it again without even trying to. It's such a great song.
This song along with some other music always reminds me of my mom, she would always played songs like this on the radio in the car. I get some of my taste in music from her
My brother put his Walkman headphones on me and played this song when I was 9. Eversince that day this has always been one of my very pop hits from the 80's. I love the synth. It's has such a unique catchy song. This and 99 red balloons. The German version is great. I had serious crush on that chick when I was a kid.
Aww the emoticons during the break made the video better so cute! :) "And I will never be free, you'll always be a part of me." That right there is so TRUE!
I remember listening to that song on radio on the school bus when I was a preteen. I did not know what this song was called and I did not know who played it either but now I've finally revealed the name of the song and the band and all thanks to Tiktok. It's probably one of the most underrated 1980s song ever heard of and it's probably one of the rarest songs of all time as well. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 By the way I love the beginning of this song and it sounds kinda very Christmassy to me.
Indeed. Love this song as well. If you like this type of tragic love/loss song, you would also like a more recent band called “Blue Army” and their song “Subway Girl.” Cheers!
This song reminds me of some old friends I don’t talk to anymore. I know the song is about kissing a girl he dated but it reminds me of friends and fun times we had. We don’t talk for a lot of reasons but I miss the good old times and this song always reminds me of my old best friend. I sometimes wish the good times didn’t end but things change unfortunately
When I was a kid growing up I heard this song a lot. This song always a had great sound to it. One of my favorite songs to hear when I was growing up, too.
My boyfriend died last week...we met 25 years ago and were together for close to two years then separated for 22 years, got together again last December and all these month we've been so happy so in love, made so many plans...and in the blink of an eye he's gone...over the years I've sang this song so many times and now more than ever...😢😢😢😢😢😢
1988 is the latest year I like. Then when the 90's came l, the songs started to sound like today's music!! :( What a bad way to end the 1900's with horrible music.
@Elkanah2able Yeah I posted this for people who r like me and wanna actually see the lyrics on screen even tho u already know what they r. If u dont like my video u can always go look at a different one bye have a nice day :)
Wonderfull song will never die it May pass to next generation with their own style but will never die and this song is no esception...love my precious eighties times 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃!!!!
i think a version thats catered to both "his&her" was using "..how can i, forget you.." and used " i was born, to love you... " just to be more mindful of both genders i , still favor "her"
I appreciate the smily faces in the instrumental portions! That's why this is a high quality lyrics video! Edit: also the dark text on light background
i hadn't heard this song is YEARS and i always sang with it both me and my mom have the memory of me doing so then i finally came on the radio one day and i thought i was hearing shit lol love this song, always will nice vid btw ^_^
On this day in 1983 {May 28th} Naked Eyes performed "Always Something There to Remind Me"* on the ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... At the time the song was at position #12 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, two weeks later it would peak at #8 {for 2 weeks} and it spent twenty weeks on the Top 100... It also reached #8 on the Canadian Nielsen SoundScan Singles Chart... On the same 'Bandstand' show the duo also performed "Fortune and Fame", the song was track four on side two from their U.S. debut album, 'Burning Bridges', the album reached #32 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart... The British duo had three other Top 100 records; "Promises, Promises" {#11 in 1983}, "When the Lights Go Out" {#37 in 1983}, and "(What) In the Name of Love" {#39 in 1984}... * And from the 'For What It's Worth' department; four other versions of "Always Something There to Remind Me" have made the Top 100 chart; Lou Johnson {#49 in 1964}, Sandie Shaw {#52 in 1965}, Dionne Warwick {#65 in 1968}, and R.B. Greaves {#27 ion 1970}...
This is NOT the original version of this song. This is the BEST out of all versions of this song. I first heard this song from Naked Eyes back in early 1983.
Stephen R I was 14 in 82 when this great song came out. Most of my friends wore glasses (I didn't & still don't) & they sometimes called me "Nakedeyes"! LOL! Watch my videos of MY naked eyes :)
thank you for posting this song with the lyrics...it's actually a good help for me read the lyrics with the song because I'm learning English....so thanks again....
In the 80's? No you didn't. The 70s and 60s yes, but the 80s was prosperity, pop culture, MTV, Coke vs Pepsi, Back to the Future, Levis and the Soviets were in decline. Now we have nostalgia for this era as today it's trigger warnings, safe spaces, METOO, black lives matter, Hillary, scepticism on everything, social media, gender fluid activists.... ugh.
