Today is Nalie’s birthday!
We celebrate today by sharing a collection of Nalie's amazing birthday rants on her behalf.
Nalie's birthday rant became an annual tradition and was often a recap of what she accomplished and life lessons she had learned.
Last year, on her birthday she wrote: “I have nothing more to prove. Not to anyone. Not even to myself. I now know why I’m still here and my reason for living keeps my heart beating at a rhythm that makes we wanna dance all night (and believe it or not, I actually did).
This is the year that I’ve learned to simply FALL IN LOVE WITH MY EXISTENCE!"
"I hear 33 is your Jesus year. It symbolizes eternal life, the flow of nature, and spiritual growth. I realized there’s no such thing as an expiry date: and that thought was finally freed from my mind."
We honour her presence in the precious body of work she bestowed on us, in the artistic street mural, and in the trees of life - Nalie's communion with the earth is a communion with the Divine - as she wrote "with the flow of nature and spiritual growth."
Nalie is eternally present in our lives, in our enduring love and devotion to carry on her inspiring legacy and share her wisdom.
We celebrate Nalie by being alive and well; by being kind to ourselves; and by acknowledging that growing old is a privilege.
