Here we have Namco Museum Volume 1 (check back in for the later installments and don't worry, they're coming) which I really enjoy. Something about these games really exudes charm. It could be the liminal hallways and rooms full of that nostalgic vibe that you may or may not have for them. It could be the subtle yet really permeating music that each room has to highlight the history in an audibly enlightening way. It could be the exhibits themselves that have you pining for a time long past wherein you'd hit the arcade, spend a couple bucks, and forget about the issues the "modern" day had to offer. I personally felt this series was worth recording and uploading for posterity... Other than that, I'm kinda sad I missed out on a lot of this Japan in the 80s only merchandise.
I personally grew up in an arcade environment where a couple of these (although a decade past their debut in some cases) were still in service and offered quite the smorgasbord of emotions from elation to sheer and utter defeat. Join me in this cataloguing of history as I uncover this collection of Namco arcade classics as well as some notable trivia.
Really... Imagine blowing up the party spot with your "New Rally-X Sweater." Everyone would be jealous.
