I always thought the two couples gave me similar vibes in some aspects, especially in those moments where Ben and Chris would be a bit snarky about something and both Rachel and Cristine would reply with that sort of nervous giggling call of their name.
Do generic vs. name brand cookies, chocolate chip, Peanut butter whatever... Maybe even boxed cakes, Duncan Hines vs. Betty crocker... Those are my two go to's... I have recently discovered that the Walmart brand canned cinnamon rolls taste better than the Pillsbury canned cinnamon rolls, The Walmart brand comes with the icing in a little baggie, that you squeeze onto them once cooked so to me that is easier than the Pillsbury which is in the little can at the bottom of the roll and it's just so inconvenient to get out to me versus the little baggie that you can squeeze and you also get more icing in the Walmart brand cinnamon rolls... Not to mention the almost $2 price difference!
I used to work in the factory that packaged 'brand' name foods 'premium foods' and some 'store' brands foods. I can say that raisan bran Costco and the actual raisan bran are EXACTLY the same 😂! I packaged them myself and the boxes were filled side by side. I couldn't believe it!
During the frosted flakes part the answers at the bottom say they were right about the brand name and store bought. I rewatched it like 6 times to make sure I was right. Very confusing. Lol love you guys!
Do the Pilsbury biscuits and cinnamon rolls vs generic! I love watching you guys! Your so funny and I love how competitive you are Rach!! I am the same way!
At 12:07 for the Frosted Flakes? I’m confused, they where right but they say the are wrong! It says on the video Rachel’s side is store(generics) and that’s what they said! Please help I don’t get what’s going on!
I call fruit loops as the sugariest due to the natural fruit concentrates in combo with the added sugars. And Raisin Bran has a surprising amount of sugar, so I doubt it will be the lowest. My husband thinks it’s “healthy” and I just laugh at him 🤣
Even though they were both thrown for a (Fruit) loop with the less fun looking appearance of Fruit Loops, Rachel and Chris would absolutely be cereal killers when it came to correctly identifying store versus name brand cereals (mostly due to the cereal's sugary-ness).
I’m soooooo confused w/the frosted flakes segment. On screen, it was shown multiple times with Rachael’s side labeled the generic, which is what they both said, but at the “reveal” they’re saying Rachel’s side is the name brand?
Fwiw, I’ve heard that Target’s generic version of “flakes that are frosted” (Archer Farms is the brand I believe) is the same/better when compared directly to Frosted Flakes.
Rachel is so adamant about frosted flakes being a flake of sugar and not corn flakes that have been frosted with sugar. Which is what I'm pretty sure they actually are. I love her determination so much. But also I want to confirm cinnamon sugar toast as a thing I used to eat as a kid too whenever she brings it up in a video. We had a specific shaker for cinnamon-sigar mix.
I used to volunteer at an assisted living center and one of the clients only wanted raisin brand but WITHOUT the raisins.🤣 So yes, I picked them out for her.🥰❤️
Frosted Flakes made their flakes thicker about 2 years ago (here in the US anyway) so they would get less soggy. My son refused to eat them after that and when I bought generic ones (from Walmart) he said the same thing Chris did “These are the REAL Frosted Flakes”!
Food companies here in Australia use the same factories to make the generic branded products as the name branded ones. The only real thing that's different is the packaging. I think the whole name brand vs generic tasting better is often times just people's perception.
@@naonao9528 U.K. too, they use same recipe but inferior or slightly different variation of ingredients, lower grade grain or flakes. And sometimes they end up far superior. 😂
I don't know if you have Malt-o-meal cereal in Canada but in our grocery stores we often have the choice of the name brand, Malt-o-meal, and the store brand of most cereals. I find the Malt-o-meal cereals just as good as the name brand. I also really like the Aldi versions of all of their cereals.
I’ve never heard anyone having the same opinion of raisins as me. Raisin Bran is the ONLY way I’ll eat them, and putting them in desserts and cookies is horrible.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how much Rachel’s Husband looks like the original Spider-Man! I can’t remember his name but he freaking does! He can be his twin
This is hilarious cuz I was just at Walmart and debated getting Lucky Charms or the Great Value brand. I went with the generic cuz it was less than half the price. 🤷🏻♀️
I would like to see “all” or “most of the store brands compared to the name. Or just all the store brands compared to each other. So if I need to buy store brand, I’m buying the best one!
Girl Scout cookies and the Walmart version of them! Hands-down the best Dupe for a popular cookie. I actually prefer the generic over the real deal. Sorry Girl Scouts
OK just a little tid bit, the generic's are actually made by the name brand companies. Some of them actually match the taste while some of them don't. The reason for this is they don't want people buying the generic so they make it taste crappy, like the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Fruit loops. Where as Frosted flakes goes above and beyond. They don't sell the recipe they just make the generic themselves. I know this as my uncle works in the food industry for one of these companies hehe.
I love these kind of videos bec then you can actually save up on money because these are products most of us buy often and cheaper options can really help us save in the long run
2 things ... 1 ... you forgot lucky charms ... and 2 ... I vote for chips (generic vs brand vs premium brands) ... Great video and most sugary is maybe lucky charms ... the " marshmallows " are more like sugar bites and not really like marshmallows.
They did! Though got to say as a kid my mom didn't buy it alot but bought Walmart once & we could tell a difference there. Never had then again for Walmart brand.
@@strawberrysoymilkshake 🤯🤯 that is crazy, I would've never connected the two but now you say it, it is an orange flavor! Thank you for this info! 😂👏🏾👏🏾
I love your posts, but I feel like you are missing the point of store brands. The cost is a factor. The question isn't which one is store brand or name brand but which ones do you like better and which ones are worth paying extra for? Which ones are good enough to save money on? I feel like you already have a good idea of what the name brands look, feel and taste like in most cases.
My list of most sugary would be: 1. Froot Loops 2. Cin toast crunch 3. Frosted flakes 4. Frosted mini wheats 5. Raisin bran So basically I only guessed the froot loops as the one with most sugar and funny enough, my least favorite cereal !!!
When I was a kid, my mom would toast bread and put butter on it and then cover it with a cinnamon sugar mix and then pour warm milk on top. It was soooooo good.
I am never here this early! have you seen the crunch cup? I believe you put the cereal and milk in 2 separate compartments in the cup and when you drink it you get a little bit of milk and a little bit of cereal! I love cereal but never have time to actually sit down and enjoy it before it gets soggy. I would love to see if it works!
They have cinnamon toast crunch powder for toast. It’s yummy. Also you guy should try the new dunkaroo pancakes and lucky charms one also buy the cinnamon toast surgar and make them pancakes 😊😊
There's just so much I love about these Saturday-Celebration videos! The couple dynamic, Chris's quips, honestly everything about Rachel but especially her humor, the Rudolph mask cameo, and relatable snacko cravings!💖💖💖
As a kid I LOVED Raisin Bran! I was adding honey to it, as if it wasn't sugary enough already 😅 I really miss this cereal, they don't sell it in the Netherlands where I live now 😭
Cinnamon sugar toast is the best! My dad used to make it for me and I made it for my kids. We still eat it sometimes. I love raisin bran and that's the only thing I like raisins in.
Not that I have had it in years and years but my favorite used to be captain crunch, original flavor. My old roommate and I would split a box of it at midnight! I hope you do dessert next.
You should really try European cereals. I’m from Spain and bought US cereals and they taste soooo much different than ours. American cereals taste like chemicals and sugar. When I eat European cereal I feel great and can go on with my day. But the USA ones feel too much, I bet kids love them but adults not so much. I don’t know, I just feel like you would both enjoy comparing cereals from other countries, specially from European countries. You should try some we have and you too (frosted flakes, choco krispies, corn flakes…) and then some you don’t have (chocapic, estrellitas, chocoflakes, smacks, mielpops, nesquik, lion…) have fun😁 hope you try it!!!!
I always love the videos of both you and Christopher!! They’re so sweet and funny!!🤗🥰 Next blindfolded test of generic vs store brand test ice creams!!🤗🍦✨
Oddly enough, the mascot for generic frosted flakes is a polar bear for both Walmart and Aldi. I guess they're leaning into the cold meaning "frosted", but interesting that it happened twice.
i was told by my dietician that your suppose to compare the sugar per 100g... cause when you eat cereals people don't normally check the serving sizes before eating... we usually just pour on the bowl and eat... so logically it's better to compare the per 100g...
Could compare Little Debbie snacks to store brand. Or name brand compared to Great Value brand on condiments/sauces. Compare pizzas. *Just an idea..maybe make a taste test box where there's two spots cut out for you two to reach through to grab what your testing. That way there's no blind folds and you can see where you're grabbing.
Raisins bran crunch is my absolute favorite but add bananas to the bowel. AMAZING! I don’t eat it any other way. I NEED to have a banana or half of a banana. Sometimes I’ll add extra raisins because Raisin Bran is getting cheap with them. But the off brand has wayyy more raisins now a days.
What about comparing store brands from different stores? Ex. Great Value Raisin Bran vs. President's Choice Raisin bran. (I personally think Great Value raisin bran is even better than Kellogg's!)
Wait I'm so confused with the Frosted Flakes you both chose the bowl in front of Chris as the "real" or Name brand and on the video it said that the bowl in front of Chris way yes the real frosted flake and the bowl in front of you Rach was the store brand but when you lifted the bowl you said you both had it wrong and the bowl infant of Chris was the store brand. So what happened because the text over the bowls you edited in after, show that you were correct that the Name brand frosted flakes were in fact the bowl in front of Chris but the label you said was underneath the bowl not in from of Chris was really the name brand?!?! I know I'm too invested lol but I must uncover this mystery HELP🙏😂 Love you guys!
