@@one567 bands can cause irritation, they can get to be too tight or too lose based on season and body changes, some people take them off for work due to preference or because jewelry is not allowed, some don't want them to get dirty. I used to not be able to wear any jewelry because the raccoons I worked with would try to remove anything shiny and they'd pull a finger out of socket.

The funny thing about some store brands are they are actually made by the same factory as the name brand. My dad worked for a snack food company that made a name brand cookie and the store brand equivalent in the same factory.

Popcorn too. Otis Reddenbacher popcorn and ACT II popcorn are made in the same building. Just divided into different packages.

My favorite store brand is co-op gold. They may not always be the same as the name brands but I've never been disappointed by one of their products and sometimes even liked them better.

If you are able to cross into the US there is a grocery store here that has srore brand products that rival name brand. I used to be a strictly name brand Oreo girl but the Wegmans O's are better I think. Also their laundry detergent is better than Tide.

There's this show in the UK called Eat Well for Less, where they switch all the foods in a family's kitchen and remove the labels. the people don't know whether they are eating their usual brands or cheaper ones. The goal is to get them to realize that spending more for a name is not worth it. Well that show would not work with you two at all. 😉😀

It’s so funny that you mentioned doing cereals. I bought a name brand cereal that I usually buy the one in the bag. I fixed a bowl of the name brand and literally gagged because it had no flavor. Please do cereals next!!!!!

Some store brands are better. But I remember when I was a kid. My mum bought some cereal and put the bag into a brand name box. We immediately could tell the difference, my brother loved cereal and told my mum to write to the company because they were selling burnt cornflakes. Ha. But I think over the years, store brands have got better.

Anyone taken aback by those “hash browns” that aren’t hash browns? We call those American fries. Hash browns are long thin strips of potatoes fried together where I’m from.

I'm from North East Pennsylvania and we would call what they had "home fries" but in the south I have seen them called "country potatoes". I moved to Michigan and have seen them called "American potatoes" either way I agree to me hash browns are definitely the grated potato fries together... Either in a pile or formed into patties.

In my country, hash browns are grated/tiny slivers of potato, mixed with thinly sliced onion, and fried. Sometimes they are formed into a flat ball and fried. 😋

A fun video might be trying various drinks to see if you can taste a difference, so like teas, coffees, sodas etc. Another fun idea would be trying costco vs name brand, and if you wanted to do it on Rachhloves as well you could include costco clothing

I really wish you would tell us WHICH name brand and WHICH store's brand. There is a big difference, Krusteas pancake mix wipes the floor with any competitor. I want to know if you're comparing that or bisquick to great value.

What about school lunch items? It's the perfect "season" for that! Single serving things like juice and fruit, peanut butter and jelly, even bread! Maybe also snack crackers or chips. Not a healthy lunch but it's definitely what comes to mind when I think of packing lunch for school. I can't think of more than 1 example, but I'd love to see a test between regular and "seasonal". Like how for Halloween, Oreos have orange cream. Maybe some types of candy would fit into that? Another one I'd like to see is something like pasta shapes. Mac&cheese, spaghetti-os, etc. Do the shaped pasta actually change the flavor? Or is it all in your head? Something that's a bit easier to make a video out of would be frozen foods/meals. For example, a cheap frozen pot pie vs. a more expensive name brand one. Could also do things like those biscuits in a tube, Pillsbury vs generic.

FYI that most foods are the same just packaged differently. So those that taste very similar is probably exactly the same in different brand packaging. My friend works at a warehouse who knows. And my brother delivers manure to a plant that mixes the same but puts in different bags. Check ingredients to know.

You could do your own series of this for each category.Almost everything frozen, condiments, soups,chips, crackers, sweets has a generic brand. ALDI has cookies that taste like Girl Scout cookies, I know Keebler has some too. Canned biscuits, Ice creams etc. The limit doesn’t exist with this series 😅

So I'm a Girl Scout leader and a few years ago I bought the store knock offs of GS cookies and had my girls do a blinds taste test. The GS cookies were far better. The Walmart brand equivalent of our Tagalongs (Peanut butter patties) were close but had less peanut butter.

Ngl, I prefer the Walmart Great Value brand version of Poptarts' Frosted Strawberry filled. The GV's crust is not dried cardboard, and the filling and frosting taste so similar. And, it's only $1 usd a box.

I find that's true for most but not all things. Tinned sweetcorn is never as good when it's generic, gotta be green giant (I'm in Ireland idk if that's an international brand or not), generic toilet paper is worse, generic vegetarian sausages aren't great but generic veggie chicken nuggets are usually good.

Name brands that will always beat store brands (UK edition although some are available outside of the UK) Coca-Cola, Heinz Baked Beans, Richmond Sausages, Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Hellman’s Mayonnaise, Birdseye Chicken Dippers, Hovis or Kingsmill Bread, anything from Mr. Kipling’s (a cake brand), Wotsits, Quavers, Cravendale milk (the shelf life is insane!) but then on behalf of my cat who will not eat anything but Iams cat food.

Canned food would make an interesting taste test. Also I love any generic nuts from Aldi. The Planters just does not compare. I’ve also never really liked Eggo waffles. The store brand is always better because it’s not as flat and less artificial

Definitely do a cereal store brand vs name brand!! Also, I definitely prefer PC No Name Cottage Cheese to Nordica Cottage Cheese any day of the week. Even if the brand name stuff is on sale and cheaper, I still buy the bright yellow container of No Name. By far, the superior cottage cheese. You and Chris should so try that one. Oh! Yoghurt / Curd- they're a *little* different in terms of recipes but mostly synonymous- these are staples in Indian Diat. Yes, you don't have it plain/as is. Usually, people add either sugar or rock salt and paprika to it depending on their taste. And they have it along with normal curry and flatbread. #funfact😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Definitely travel & movie snacks. Chips, crackers, jerky, popcorn, gummy candy, Jelly Belly. There's also lots of different spreads & dips like ranch, cream cheese (Philadelphia v s.b.) , sour cream (Daisy v s.b.) Nutella, Skippy etc. Drinks & enhancers like Nesquick, Crystal Light, Hershey syrup, Lipton ice tea so on.

Sunday morning breakfast here is Jimmy Dean snack size sausage/biscuit. SO GOOD! Recently local store was out so we tried a store brand, SO TERRIBLE lol

You should compare Walmart’s pancake mix to hungry jacks. I swear they are the same which explains why it’s very good. I’ve never been a fan of bisquick when hungry jacks exists.

I've had this argument online before, but I will NEVER understand pancake mix. Like, why would you pay a premium for a mixed version of what you already have in your pantry just to save all of 30 seconds prep time? It's such a rip off.

I don’t like Eggo waffles. They taste like cardboard to me. Like you have to smother them in butter and syrup for it to be good.

I don't know what do you guys have in Canada/the USA, but I'm from Poland and I really like store brand ketchup (but I check the tomato content - we usually have it on the bottle and about 190g of tomatoes for 100g of ketchup is needed for me). I also love many store brand sweets, but not as a dupe for generic brands but just their own chocolate, cookies, gummies etc.

When you do the cereals please include a few healthy type brands that are supposed to be a replacement for name brands. I'd also be interested in seeing when you do chips, do dips as well. Or did you already do those? Hmm lol

Candy bars, Soups, lotions, candles, teas, salad dressings, self tanner, Nails, men’s shampoo, jam/jelly, chili as in the soup(?), condiments, salts, nuts, frozen dinners vs made from scratch( I don’t think I’ve seen a bunch of those,❤️

Yes, please do the name brand VS. store brand chips. I think that would probably be easy to guess because I don’t think I have EVER had a store brand chip that was as good as a name brand chip. I have another idea for you. Why don’t you do a taste test of store products VS home made of the same foods? Like a frozen lasagna against a home made one. I really love watching your videos. If you like yogurt thick and creamy, the President's Choice Skyr yogurt in both vanilla and black cherry is really yummy. It's rich, creamy, and has a nice amount of protein in it. I use it when I make breakfast oats :) definitely something you should try
