Namgar 'Two Yorhors' 'Khadadaa' Russia Buryat-Mongolian Music in Vancouver

Namgar Lhasaranova Evgeniy Zolotarev and band members performed folk songs such as Two Yorhors and Khadadaa from the ancient nomadic traditions of Southern Siberia and Buryat-Mongolia. The music is about Russian and Mongolian legends, fairytale beauties, epic heroes, and horse racers hurling across vast highland plateaus. Namgar plays with chanza, a 3-stringed Mongol lute while band members play flutes, drums and other percussion instruments during their 2010 visit to Vancouver, Canada.
Bulat Gafarov - famous russian multi-instrumentalist. He plays on violin (huur), flutes, jews harps, sings throat singing. He was specially invited to tour across Canada

Вроде бы на бурятском,но манера исполнения и музыка,и слова еле угадываются...Наша музыка плавная,а здесь один ор и ничего не разберёшь...И музыканты сами тащиться от своей музыки...

It was on Friday (July 16) at Tom Lee’s downtown Granville store which made that free concert possible. I had time that afternoon, so I went. Namgar came from tradition. You listen to the band and you get a sense of place, their way of life, their feelings etc. What folk music (from anywhere) should truly tell you about.

Very nice video. The part that is starting at 0.52 is the same song with the central mongolian folk song Yunden Googoo, which is also posted on youtube.

Was this from the Friday noon show downtown? I missed it, but thought I caught them everywhere at the folk festival. I don't remember this venue. Thanks for recording. I would've liked to see more Evgeny and Bulat. I now realize how awesome it was to see Namgar w/ Bulat Gafarov (violinist) playing. He's a force all his own. Everyone should go to myspace & find Namgar to listen to Yokhor & Tunka to see what their Nomad CD sounds like. Incredible! 2003's Hatar CD is more traditional, but okay too.

Awesome song, but its quality didn't satisfy me at all. "Live " records are usually worse as to its sound than those wich have been prepared fot TV needs.
