I think the spot of number 2 is shared or situational. When they’re traveling on the ocean, Nami would be number 2. But there’s so many times where Nami needed Zoro to protect her, so in combat it would be Zoro. But as it’s situational, the number 2 spot is shared between the 2 of them.

I agree when is comes to the waters. But on land it’s definitely zoro. It’s actually a very fun dynamic the Romance dawn trio has. On sea both zoro and luffy completely and blindly listen to nami and she actually takes almost the role as captain if not luffy was the one to say where to go. And zoro just lay down and sleeps (not really right hand behaviour 😂) that’s why quite a lot of people say nami is more of a right hand than zoro. But on land zoro takes over nami’s right hand position and just as zoro on sea. Nami takes it back and completely trust zoro and his capabilities. Ofcourse those two can stil bicker but that’s both on sea and land. And I think that it’s very good bc luffy listens to both of them. Sometimes choosing zoro’s arguments and sometimes nami’s. Or he just do whatever he wants 😂. A lot of one piece fan only look at the power level but that’s such a wrong way to look at it. Look in a overview perspective and you will see that the ranks can even shift each ark. But what stay consistent is when there are moments where the big decisions has to been made it’s always the romance dawn trio that are in the conversation. Over and over again. That is also why I see them as the mean characters of one piece. Some wil argue with me that it is sanji instead of nami but I disagree. When we look at plot and decisions making he isn’t that in the frontline (excluding his own are ofc). Even on land where her role isn’t fight technically important she is the one that moves the plot of is important for Kay moment. She also almost always befriend the most important character each ark sometimes even faster than luffy or even ask chopper to join the crew even before luffy has seen him. But some OP fans don’t want to see that bc it’s not fighting and she isn’t the strongest.

All ik is that luffy can find a new navigator fairly easy, u cannot find another zoro💀

Without Luffy, everyone would be dead from enemies. Without Nami, everyone would be dead from weather. Without Zoro, their captain would be dead several times. Without Robin, they wouldn’t find the One Piece.
