It's such a simple joke, but I nearly spit out my drink when he followed up "this is the only aquarium-themed level in the franchise" with "Okay, another aquarium level".
yeah exactly it's such a funny simple joke. it's funny because he gets the map name wrong over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again! now that's content!
Omg, I didn’t realize this on my 1st viewing; I thought I perceived his running joke with Lockdown, and how he just gave up any pretense or hope by the last fourth in general
@@davidsplooge14 over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over andover and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, very funny for a mule
@@RoachCatJr to me, he's implying dunkey was simply making a dumb joke about sniping with shotguns without knowing about the real shotgun bug from MW2. I'm saying that it's exactly why he made the joke. Like no crap it's a fact. That's what made it funny. If my comment is just repeating what he said, then his initial comment is also just explaining the same joke dunkey made
I'm not at all surprised Dunk got all of these right as he is, famously, an excellent Call of Duty player and series fanatic. My favourite map is Lockdown
9:25 I don't know which is more impressive. The fact that he remembers that or he casually references that really short clip in a really old video and he knows his old fans will pick up on it.
@@proudamazighian9334 I can’t remember the exact video so I’m going off memory. The clip I believe shows some guy in an online match insulting some kid by describing him like Dumbo (big ears and whatnot). But the guy fails to remember the name of Dumbo and instead calls the kid Bambi. I think this is the context here, but I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong. Edit: The video is called Modern Trollface 2. I was kinda wrong in the context…
they marketed multiple modes in multiple games over multiple years on that map, really just a testament to their effective marketing to their target demographic.
“That’s where I would snipe people with the dual shotguns” That’s how you know Dunkey was a true MW2 player, he remembers the unfathomable power of the akimbo models
Man exactly why MW2 could never be the goat cod, that game was straight up bullshit and not fun a lot of the times. Fucking OMA noobtubes and constant boosting
naaaah pistol and knife all the way man :p That and that perk so you make less noise. Just zoom through the map and one-hit kill everyone, it was so broken!
Fucking same. I see 2 seconds of gameplay on a map and I remember the layout and sometimes some specific memories from playing with friends on that map but the names are just gone from my brain. I think I remembered the name of like 4 maps in this video
Fun fact: everything dunkey said was actually right. He accedentally used the names from when the maps were still in development. I can totally understand since he did make every call of duty game
11:13 , oh god this one moment. It has gone beyond living rent free in my head for the past year, I sometimes can't help myself but say this name from time to time. It kills me everytime I hear it in Dunkey's voice in that part.
The layouts of the base-game maps are engrained in my head but fuck if the names aren't either too generic to remember outside of when you're actively playing it, or are too esoteric. Rust, Nuketown, Favela and probably Terminal are the only maps I can remember the names of by heart. Skidrow too, though I kept calling Karachi Skidrow during the video...
He has all the jokey videos and all the serious videos in different playlists. He also says more dunkey at the end when he's serious and more - when he's joking
This is so painful trying to remember. I instantly recognize every map from the earlier games but I can't even come close to remembering the names despite seeing them hundreds of times each. Except nuketown and quarry, i remembered them.
I imagine it’s called lockdown because in the story Prague is completely locked down with curfews and stuff and you have the resistance movement in there too. So this map being the Prague map of multiplayer is a part of the lockdown of the city
My favorite detail in this video: using the music from Metroid Prime in the background right after guessing Chozo Ruins. Instantly brought a smile to my face :) 10/10
Hahaha yea took me a second to remember the akimbo 1887's with fmj. Absolute insanity. So many crazy imbalances and glitches in MW2 that stayed in the game for so long: Commando's insane range, akimbo 1887s, harriers annhiliating everything as a 7 killstreak, spawn tubes, one man army spam on terminal, elevator glitches (especially the one where you could get under the map on favela)... It's crazy to look back and think about how much things have changed from today where instant hot patches are expected, whereas before it was just something you dealt with and somehow made it fun for a few months before it finally got patched.
Dunkey I have recently discovered a video game that is criminally underrated, because of how it changes you as a person. “Peepaws farm” is a beautiful game that tells a better story than death stranding and final fantasy combined. Not only is the story amazing, it touches your soul in the way only a mother and father saying “I love you” could. Now I don’t want to spoil the game but it truly deserves game of the year. Not only did it help me figure out who I want to be as a person, it cured my depression and made my life 100x better than it was before. The game has the ability to tell you multiple life lessons without ruining the story or the gaming experience. I could go on and on about how amazing the game is and how it changed my life, but I’d rather you get to experience this life changing game yourself. It’s only 5 dollars, and I have to say it’s the best 5 bucks I have ever spent... give it a shot and see for yourself how amazing peepaws farm is.
I still remember all the spawn points and how crazy it would get during the first 30 seconds of the match. Seeing them empty like that though kind of saddens me
As Miles Morales' teacher would say "The only way to get all the answers wrong, are to know what answers are right" so Dunkey is obviously playing us... however he did get Nuketown and Rust right so maybe he actually doesn't know all the maps
I grew up right past the border of my town, so I never had Internet growing up but somehow I remember almost all of these maps. Really unlocked some rare nice memories c’:
holy shit the nostalgia of seeing some of those maps, i still remember even the good rush or camp spots or the shootout areas that were the most popular in some of those. fucking nostalgia man...
Don't listen to those first 2 guys. I am writing this with a blindfold on and my little brother is typing this. I don't even exist. That is how you know I know what I'm talking about.
I love how Dunkey just gushes over every MW2 map for like a minute straight, but then for everything else, he just says "Lockdown." I don't blame him though, I would do the same.
This video reminded me of all the solid maps COD4 had that i never played becuz i just sat on Killhouse/Broadcast 24/7 servers. But yeah Afghan and Highrise brought back some good memories.
@@myopinionisobjectivelywron2148 Obviously! These people literally use bots to like their own comments so they can get boosted by the algorithm really early, that’s just attention seekers
given that nuketown and rust are clearly the most obvious ones and dunk didn't use it as an opportunity to get them wrong as a joke makes me think these are all genuine guesses
It’s crazy how clearly I remember most of these maps yet can’t name most of them to save my life. Every map from cod 4 to black ops 2 is completely burned into my memory. I’ll be on my deathbed and still have memories of being sniped out of spawn on highrise, or getting noob tubed on that one airport map that I can’t remember the name of even though I just saw it in the video less than 5 minutes ago
That joke made me remember the multiplayer in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, if that game gets ported to Switch then I would love to see online Prime, that would be so fun
A legendary reference that goes completely unnoticed in the comments because of verified spam. Same with "I used to snipe people with the dual shotguns up there".
While everyone else is busy dissecting Sony's latest reveals, Dunkey is the only one who knows how to create actual content. Thanks for the 12 minutes and 32 seconds of fun, man.
Fun fact: Everytime the map has a burning tank in this video (meaning that the map is in France) a certain song will play. This song is from a Japanese videogame franchise called professor Layton, whose OST was inspired by french music. Meaning that Dunkey is a comedy genius
His vids have gotten to the point where idec what his vids are abt or if his jokes are good, my body is just hardwired to produce serotonin whenever I hear his voice.
I still remember the first time I played on Empty Field. The colors were so vibrant and beautiful that I actually broke into tears. I did not stop weeping for 6 days for I accidentally dropped and broke the remote and thus could not turn off the TV. Thank god I forgot to pay my electric bill or I'd probably still be there mesmerized by the beauty of Empty field.
1:35 you put the LA noire theme just for the Chinatown map, a beautiful nod at LA Noire’s inspiration from the movie Chinatown (with Jack Nicholson). A really great detective movie directed by Polanski set in interwar LA. Thanks for this dunkey!!
