I just can't figure out what he's playing at 2:25, that chord shape thing where he picks the strings separately. I've tried to figure it out multiple times now, but if I have the same chord shape as he has and pick it the same way he does it still doesn't sound the same. Does he have his guitar in a weird tuning? I thought it was just a half step down. Anyone any ideas?

well, all I can say is somebody is preparing to rock the end times...

The guitarist from Jinjer has a similar style. A lot of technical riffing with taps and all kinds of stuff. This is not bad but I'd throw in some more feel with playing parts slower or with less volume not with the same aggression from start till end. Obviously John is a great guitar player, excellent rhythm. Have not really heard lots of his stuff so I don't know his lead play..

There are so many great guitarists out there you've never heard, here's yet another. Not sure whether it's inspirational or demotivating, I suppose a little of both is good...
