Wondering if they are going to prefer center or side mounted triggers. I want to order a jobeky shell pack and roland cymbals and pair it with this. If the jobeky stuff works with roland... and the mimic works with roland and pearl tru-trac.... mimic probably works with jobeky right? What do you think? Still debating whether to go with jobeky or drum-tec. Drum-tec is a little pricey for me.

I don't know about you, but If I were standing in a room while WK was killin' it on the drums I'd probably clap and show the dude lots of love! I see some people just standing looking unamused. WK is seriously one of the most musically gifted drummers alive. This guys just breathes and he makes the music sound better!

just look at that monster of a module. and that massive blue lcd screen. of course you can dial up the sensitivity to pick the ghost notes. not a huge problem. the sounds are crazy. guess we'll see

You guys are pretty amateur .You have no idea whats going on . Roland drums have a digital sound ,this pearl kit is using slate acoustic samples, not the same thing ,comparing them is stupid . The Roland td-50 can how ever use samples ( if you have access to them ) just like this thing does .Also this guy is using Roland cymbals lol ,how will they be in alot of trouble again?

These drums sound so freaking awesome... I can't stand listening to them - 'cause I want them and they are a bit pricey, but dang, they sound awesome! I am not familiar with Will Kennedy but he has some serious chops!

Very good indeed! This module is awesome. Looking forward to test (and buy) one! Real drum samples, different from Td50. Td50 is a great module too, but it is a whole different story. You can create your own electronic sound.

The TD-50 does have real drum samples done at much higher sampling rate than anything else and also a synth engine you can use one or the other or freely combine.

All Roland sounds are algorithm based and not real samples.

Eric W This is not factually correct. Roland has used real drum recordings since the early 80's. The TR-909 had PCM audio back in 84 using recorded cymbal sounds.

Plenty of in/outs. Touch screen interface and the ability to dump my own samples in. That's what I've been looking for ever since the ddrum3 was discontinued.

As good as it sounds, doesn't seem to be catching to quieter notes in his playing, like the triggers aren't sensitive enough.

I agree as my previous comment noted. But they are there. The volume difference between ghost and normal hits is too great. I'm sure this can be adjusted but wonder if its just because the pearl pads are inferior? Unsure at this point.

Marcelo Donnici 1 second ago I own this module. It's a beast. The sounds are absoultely amazing but every now and then I get a mistrigger, either the snare or a cymbal won't trigger. I have Roland CY14's and a CY13R for the ride. I never had issues with the kick drum or the toms, just the snare and the cymbals. Check here when Will hits the Pearl cymbal with his left arm ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wFeGUpz9Y1U.html there is also a mistrigger, maybe no one caught it. That's exactly what the module does to me!

Absolutely not a shill, in fact I play acoustic Pearl drums. Over 90% of the drums I use are Pearl. I am not trashing these pads, I just simply said his ghost notes are not being picked up.

It didn't miss his ghost notes. They are just too quiet(Either too low of a velocity curve or totally uncompressed within module which leaves the lightest hits SIGNIFICANTLY softer than hard hit.) Listen on headphones. I have this module and it uses VERY natural samples. That being said, if you don't process it like a drum kit being mixed there will be dynamic issues. (Same as when a real drummer plays in a mix with an uncompressed snare that is leveled for the hard hits, the soft hits can't be noticed due to the MASSIVE difference in dB level)

Sounds fantastic! It's a shame it costs over $3,000... That's the same price as an entire Alesis Strike Pro kit. I'd probably rather just get something like the Alesis and then use a third party drum software.

I'm surprised at the plain sounding snare and the lack of variation in timbre across the sound set. Also - his snare rolls proved incomplete due to non triggered notes.

I'm probably a bit biased as I have the TD50K, but I think this lacks dynamics, and I don't think it's the drummers fault as he is pretty awesome. When he comes down in volume a lot of the definition disappears? Granted it could be the pads, but I think the module also has it's part to play in interpreting the stick velocity and striking position. Don't get me wrong, I do like the sound a lot, but it's not as good as I was expecting it to be. just my thruppence worth!

nice try, but 70% of will kennedy touch and dynamics are just not there. if I close my eyes it sounds as a drum demo made with some app... oh, and the will famous single stroke roll sounded soooo machine gun like!!!! sorry, wood and air still can not being digitaly replicated ... keep trying, maybe in 50 or 60 years, who knows.... Im luck not be alive to see it though.
