That's the only slight problem is the fact he's so good he can cover any bad points of the module like machine gunning. I have the Mimic Pro, it's amazing.

@@williamperri3437 all default sound will sound way better then any tweak done in td-50 are synthetic sound, machine gun on hihat, toms, snare etc..

Ah non je ne suis pas du tout d'accord, les sons roland sonnent plastique, je les pratique depuis deux décénnies, et même les plus récent sont très loint de sonner aussi proche que les sons réel d'une batterie acoustique comme on l'entend avec ce module. Le 2box s'en rapproche aussi mais son ergonomie le rend indigeste contrairement au Pearl. Si j'avais l'argent je n'hesiterai pas !

Been watching Ralf demo so many E kits for many months. It all comes back to the mimic pro. After umpteen times previewing this module and digging Ralf's impeccable ghost note grooves, it's time to for my TD-25 togo bye-bye. Thanks to Ralf, one of my new year's resolutions is mastering all iterations of RLL RLL... and getting a mimic pro

Great video. I’ve been stuck on one or two kits for awhile because that’s what I need but your video is very inspired. I like some of those bass and snare sounds. My friend got the V Expressions kits and they sound great too but I’m in a rut with a lot of work. Videos like this are great. Keep it up.

Awesome as always! I love how the VH13 sounds with your kits. Do you have any vh13 trigger preset settings for the Mimic? I've been unable to dial it in like the way you show in the video.

Hey Ben, thank you very much! As far as I remember I basically used the VH-13 preset that is included in the Mimic & made open/close and dynamic adjustments to fit my individual playing. Kind regards!

@@drumtecTV Yah, I choose the preset for VH13 ver 1 or ver 2 but for whatever reason, the dynamics when transitioning from close to open is sporadic. I've spent countless time trying to dial it in with all the different settings, and many other appear have experience the same thing as I read in different blogs. I also have the VH14D with my TD50X and that just works flawlessly, but would love to have the same thing with my Mimic.

@@d1ondbeat Hey Ben, ok sorry to hear that. While you should be able to get some well working results, you won't reach the same "finesse" and super sensitive response as with a Roland VH-14D honestly. Roland really is state-of-the-art when it comes to triggering & hihat controllers especially. You might try a different preset on the Mimic just as another try for a different starting point, maybe a VH-11 or the ATV hihat preset and see what happens? :) kind regards!

These sounds are awesome! This might be a stupid question but would this pack be compatible with the Alesis Strike module? I have seen the video of the packs especially for the strike, but I love the sound of the snares in this pack!

As a long established customer, it would be great to be able to purchase the MP live sound edition pack. Given you sell Roland Sound Expansions separately (incl for the TD50), why is this not the case for the MP?

Other sound editions are available for purchase indeed (like the vintage, metal editions etc). You might contact the guys at info@drum-tec.de, can´t tell you anything else from here sadly... The module is much better than Roland. I just hope there are going to be more advancements the upcoming years in real-time sound modeling (the drum equivalent of Roland’s excellent pianos), however this will need to go hand in hand with more advanced triggers as well. We are still stuck with 3 zone pads, not pads that “feel” the exact position and swiping motions. The sticks themselves could provide additional data as, such as angle of impact, material setting, area of the stick hitting a pad, etc. Too much quantification going on right now.

It's a thing of preferences. The Mimic uses samples, Roland modules don't.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but the Mimic toms, no matter what kit, always sound like a great big thud and little else. Why hasn't anyone sampled the Peavey Radial Pros for example? I would gladly pay the module price if I could get that kind of ringing, dynamic pitch-bending glory. Just sayin...

I hear you. In the stock kits the toms sound overly compressed and mushy. Like Slate only sampled the top head and added ambiance using effects and algorithms. Check out the ATV aD5 module. The drums ring out, snarl, and behave like real drums.

PLEASE READ 🚨🚨 Well.... hhmmm... I’ve REALLY been trying Hard to like the Mimic I REALLY REALLY WANT TO I continue to listen and watch Vids... But unfortunately it’s just not working for me... The Only Kit sounds I liked was the Last Kit number 20.. I liked the Snare and Kick... But TOMS NO..! Ok drum tec.... So i wrote a negative review on your website, bcs i personally think that this edition of yours for mimic pro is much worse that i thought.. I regret purchase.... Pretend that you have about 20 kits in it... Not sure why this warrants a negative review - it says right at the beginning of the video that there are 10 new kits (not 20), with "Cowbell" variations, plus 8 re-worked original kits...
