The smart thing for Marshall to do and exactly what the players had asked for. Made in England means a lot to many too. Me included. The quality will be excellent just as my wonderful mini jubilee is. Well done Marshall. So far they sound as they should. Looking forward to playing one.
Have always loved the sound of the JCM800's, and I only play at home in the studio (not a fan of digital). These amps scratch an itch I didn't even though I had. Well done on Marshalls part, looking forward to trying one out, and probably grabbing one (I'm in Australia, so this may take awhile)

Well, if you think about it, the smaller speaker starts to break up (because yes, speakers can break up adding to the dirtiness) at lower volumes. Using the 12" would have higher speaker "headroom" no?
When developing the Studio series we did extensive sonic testing on the speakers to find which suited this chassis and enclosure. We found that the 10" speaker sounded better in the smaller more portable format of the Studio amps! 🤘🏼
Marshall Amplification - except you said the same about the mini jubilee when selecting the 12” greenback because it was PERFECT for the jubilee combo... and I agree. 12” greenback is such a great speaker. And it probably doesn’t matter cause a good number of folks will plug and play with speakers... except very few people have a bunch of 10” speakers if they are big marshall fans. I still think it should be a 12 inch speaker. I and many have lots of those. But I’m buying the vintage head anyway for cabs I already have so whatever. Just another opinion from a marshall fan.
I like the sound of both these heads, How about a studio 2001 bass head, the best bass amp Marshall made, far better than my Dbs400 or Jubilee 3530 which i mistakenly replaced my 2001 with.
Can anyone tell me if the BossME80 floor effects unit is suitable to use as a volume controller for the Marshall SV20c, as I heard many say that you may need attenutaor but volume control is almost as good, was thinking of getting effects anyway, so all in one would be handy
Just A quick reminder they are made in the UK So that is why they are more expensive. So This Price to me is justifiable. You would pay similar money for a Freidmen or a Morgan@@guitarocd9984
I agree. I'm so sick of Chinese amps. They are toys. I hope everybody goes home. I would rather pay a little bit extra. vox was charging $4,000 for their hand-wired ac30 from China. That was Criminal. These are reasonable prices. People buy 10 cheap amps that add up to $2,000. Instead of buying one great amp for Less. I could never figure that out.
