Finally, Bangaluru is getting it's share of metro expansion! Karnataka state needs to start thinking about metros in other cities as well. Hubli-Dharwad, Mangaluru and Mysore could also use Metro Systems. Hope they get their fair share too.

We shifted to kengeri when I was in second year of my mbbs in 2017 it's gonna be 2020 soon and there is no hope of getting it soon, I almost travel 15 kms a trip to kr market daily. I am so in dire need of metro very badly. Not only it reduces time but also it's way more comfortable, smooth and dignified. All I hope is they give metro ASAP, so that I get to use before I complete my internship.

An an EE background guy, I strongly suggest BMRCL to NOT use DC supply for the Purple and Green Lines after they are extended and switch to AC 25 kV supply to lower energy and operational costs. As for the upcoming new lines, DC supply can still be retained, because they wont be as long as Green or Purple lines. And I strongly suggest them to get Metrolite concept or trams to run and replace those buses that cannot offer on time services everywhere.

@@theowleyes07 Hi DSR, DC is safe, but AC system has less cost for longer distances of electrification when compared to DC, we have AC EMUs running on longer routes of Delhi Metro wherever distance is above 30 km (for elevated metro) or 100-120 Km (for suburban rail). This is because, AC conductors carrying P amount of power (MW) will be thinner than a DC system carrying same P amount of power. Here there is a good chance of cost saving. If DC would not be safe, why would Kolkata Metro and many such metros be ever powered by DC? Why would British Rail, ever use DC EMUs (given that they invented trains and they could go upto 64 kmph when first made commercially operational) if they were unsafe? In fact Mumbai Metro Phase 1 is over 60 km in consolidated length which is why it has AC electrification. DC is needed when both distance is less plus the line has underground section, where safe clearance from third rail is much lesser.

@@mohanvvip for DC the costs are much lower owing to less material, no transformers, no electric poles etc upto 30 km and beyond that since number of switching points go up, the cost ends up greater than that for an AC infra fitted line. Thats why we use AC system for all other longer lines.

Metro line through ITPL to Electronic city via ORR, silkboard should have built first in phase1... Because around 50lakh commute in this stretch, where in authorities were in a race to increase their land rates... For instance Building metro line from anjanapura to yelachanahalli was waste of time and money... It could have been planned in phase3...

few points Phase 2A Blue line Silk Board - KR Puram soil testing started at some places in Outer ring road. The lines discussed in the video will help partially, mainly in south bangalore area to de-congest. But a big section of IT parks are being left behind unless the blue line is completed. Blue line (along with yellow) will be the one which will de-congest the major part of bengaluru roads. Unfortunately work progress is almost 0.

Hello sir, as I’m watching this video today on the 1st of Jan 2020, I’m very much pleased to inform u that the city in which I am residing I.e Pune, has already successfully begun its trial runs in one of the two corridors (PCMC-Swargate corridor). The commercial operations on this corridor is scheduled to begin from Feb-March this year. & the same for the second corridor (Vanaz-Ramwadi) is scheduled to begin from May-June on the priority stretch. The underground work is already underway and few stations on both the corridors are also taking shape. Requesting you to please make a video on Pune Metro too!

Bangalore infrastructure always lagged way behind the needs of the population and God only knows when the new metro lines will be opened, till date, Bangalore metro has NEVER been able to meet any target dates, no matter how many times it was shifted.

Excellent planning integrating metros, people don't have to walk too much. On the other hand in Kolkata metro # 5 and #2 metro station junction at salt lake sector 5 is not integrated and also in Esplanade metro station between #1, #2 and #3 is not integrated well. people has to walk long to transfer. I suggested a plan where #3 line will go through the #2 station at #1 line level to be next to #1. #2 concourse can be used foot traffic connecting all 3. May be water tank needed to be removed. It is too late to the anything else and expect forever commuter difficulty.

It is 20 April 2022 today and only the Kengeri extension and the Silk institute (Anjanapura) extensions have been commissioned that too with a delay of over a year. The yellow line, BIEC extension and whitefield extension are still not completed and it doesnt look like they will be in the near future, maybe only the next generation will benefit from phase 2 :(

Whitefield route shown is completely wrong. It's baiyappanahalli to Kadugodi via graphite India and ITPL. It doesn't end at Whitefield.. But ends at Kadugodi

In Bangalore, the Metro Rail known as Namma Metro, in that one of the Metro Rail Routes which they have taken up is from Mysore Road to Kengeri, Not Kaangeri. Please pronounce it properly. Moreover it is Not only from Mysore Road Metro Station (which comes in Nayandahalli) to Kengeri, but it has further gone upto Bidadi. (pronounced as Bidadhi)

Not seeing any recent news on Kolkata metro. After rail violence,I don't expect Goyal to focus on metro anymore apart from extorting money from it. Our metro is unnecessarily getting tangled in these nonsense. It should be separated from Railways or it will never succeed

@@KunalSrkar hope you read some newspaper of all the damage railways suffered. Now don't expect irresponsible state government to pay that money,that why our metro is at stake now,it's money will be used by them and delays will just increase. What else do you expect?

Chennai metro phase one including extn was started after BMRCL phase one . While chennai phase one is complete BMRCL is yet to complete . BMRCL IS a very LAZY organisation whose dead lines are of no value .

Mr venkata subba rao, BMRCL is not a lazy organisation. Our metro projects r done on time. There were some areas in Bengaluru which was a lakebed area where water use to get loged. Added to that , aquasation of land is a big challenge in Bengaluru id a big challenge because of its high real estate value. 80 % of BMRCL projects has been done by state fund. It is only 20% the centre has funded. Our BMRCL project is the best metro project in India. During one time, in the name of southern railways the whole funds use to go to Tamilnadu. Is it not a big blunder? BMRCL is not a lazy organisation. If you want more details please feel free to call us. Do not quote such comments.
