Thanks so very much, Ian.... one of my personal favs, too. This was a junket interview, Ian, one of many BS did that day, happily we instantly connected, so she gave me extra time. She was terrific to work with btw. My job was to be her best audience which, she appreciated, all abt her, not me as often the interview case nowadays. Plse subscribe for more interviews like this. N
Barbra Streisand turned the negatives in her life to positives. She couldn't have not been successful. She's a rare talent that comes along once in a lifetime. She was made to sing. With the gift she was given it was personal from God. One of the rarest talents ever given to someone.
Hi Nancy, I just happened upon this interview. I was the wardrobe stylist/supervisor at ET for many years in the 80s until late 91. This is a wonderful interview. I worked mainly on the set at Paramount dressing the hosts....so I am trying to recall if our paths crossed. Possibly. I always thought you were an exceptional interviewer. Thank you for posting this interview. I was very proud to be a part of ET in that era.
As was I, Dyne, lucky indeed. Big thanks for reaching out, your lovely compliment. Ditto back at u, kiddo. Not sure we crossed paths, hope Mary et al appreciated how effortlessly gorgeous you made them look! Back then ET wanted real deal, meaty interviews. This was a junket conversation, one of many BS did that day, I had to cover a lot fast. Happily, we instantly vibed, in fct she gave me extra time. Plse subscribe for more interviews like this...inc those for ET..Whoopi, Dolly Parton, Eddie Murphy et al. Where are you now? Still working?
How nice of you to respond. Thank you for saying such nice things about my work. ET was a COMPLETELY different show back in the day. I witnessed it beginning to morph in the last years of my time there. I was there almost from it’s inception. You are the quality that is sorely missing today. I noticed how you and Barbra clicked. I can imagine she would give you extra time because your questions and observations were substantive. I wish we had a more private way to converse because I could share a story with you about one of the the exec producers and his disregard for some people..Barbra in particular. I had a minor confrontation with him one day because I questioned his ethics. It wasn’t that I was defensive about Barbra in particular (although I was somewhat because of the nature of the hit piece they had aired) but rather the direction ET was going. (...remember Hard Copy?). My first name is Matt and Van Dyne is my last name....I can’t remember why I turned it around when I created this account LOL. I will certainly seek out other interviews you have done. I’ve always been a fan.
Everything happened for a reason - she needed to have “no boundaries” to accomplish what she has. She was “designed” to sing and have the force to do it to the best of her ability..
Hi Regine, I used every minute of the interview. I loved sitting down with her, would have loved to have more time. Thanks for watching, please subscribe for more!
