My name is Nancy Breslin. I am an oncology nurse practitioner. I was pediatric nurse at the time and fell into the position of oncology. Immediately, I loved it because you have to learn all the different systems of the body, and there was so much information that needed to be mastered. Once I was in oncology, I loved it. I loved seeing children coming to the hospital very sick but going home with hope, and the cure rate was improving.
I did pediatric oncology for over 20 years, and during that time, I chose to become a nurse practitioner. I included stem cell transplant as well as general chemotherapy, hospital-based medicine as most of my career. Then I chose to go into adult oncology, as I felt like I needed more of a challenge.
I hope to bring to Norton healthcare my oncology experience and expertise, as oncology is an ever-changing field with so much hope, with new therapies being discovered every day.
I love water sports. I recently took up paddleboarding. It was difficult at first, but I am making some progress. I also enjoy watching wildlife and hiking. I spend a lot of time at Patoka Lake, Indiana.
