The whole movie was great, but unbelievable because how could anyone be torn about whether to be with her. I just saw the movie and I would have followed her anywhere.
I thought she was very pretty. I have only ever seen her in one film, 'The World of Suzie Wong.' Her brother Teddy was in my class at college, back in 1978, at Hatfield Polytechnic, (as it then was, now University of Hertfordshire), he was well-mannered, friendly and a little quiet as I remember. He had a photo of Nancy , on his wall, in his room at college . He seemed as though he came from a nice family. Strange to think of her being in her eighties, makes me feel old. I hope she and Teddy are both well and in good health.
How I adore Nancy Kwan? Well I own, and share the world of Suzie Wong with my children, I’m approaching 57 and I’ve always thought that I had asian features, almond eyes, coal black hair & light skin. Oh and petite.
Correction..My Aunt Marie Didn't escape and was in a Japanese concentration camp..she didn't abandon Nancy. She Posed as a "White Russian" and drove to Spain in a Chinese Army truck and ended up in Miami..I intend to write a book about this so please get your facts right
More like she wasn't exactly a Great actress. Plus, we were 20 year's removed from a war with Japan in the 1960's. A lot of WW2 Families we're still circulating. Pearl Harbors memory was still fresh. We were gearing for a war with Communist Vietnam/ Mao was still head of Communist China. Whether you think it was fair or not, the majority of Americans were not interested in Asian performer's in the 1960's. And, with China on our ass today, they probably aren't that Hot on them, today. Your point,,,????
Nancy doesn't have a drop of Scottish blood in her. We've done DNA tests to prove that. Our Granny May thought that she was half Scottish but she wasn't
I fell in love with Ms. Kwan after I saw her in 'The World of Suzie Wong' during my 1st year in high school. In those days I loved all things Asian so much that I married one. My beloved wife and I have been married for nearly 33 years.
