As a suicide survivor this song hits more than it ever used to before. Especially the name of the song alone. Sometimes I just listen to this song randomly while reflecting on the People that have come and gone from my life and how I was before I got to live again. I'm in a Better place mentally these days and I will keep it that way. This has always been my favourite bond theme tune. So hauntingly beautiful.

If you retired when this came out you have lived twice. I had a neighbor who retired in the '70s and died last year. He said much the same. Whole other life after retirement. 50 yrs. Had a sweet pension he said he wanted to squeeze every drop from.
I was nine years old when my Dad took me to see this film and I pestered him for weeks to buy me the SIngle of the theme song. The orchestration particularly started me off on a life-long love of of orchestral classical music. John Barry was a fantastic composer of film music, his orchestration is so distinctive.

Nancy Sinatra was reluctant to record this.She asked " wouldn't you rather have Shirley Bassey"? I love Miss Bassey too, but i think Nancy does a wonderful job.
I’m not even joking or exaggerating when I say this song is truly magical. Especially the part when she says “And love is a stranger who’ll beckon you on” the music there is so good. I’ve always loved the note F#, and it’s used so beautifully in that part
Quando assisti o filme de 007 no cinema, nao prestei atencao na trilha sonora nos anos 60. Nos 70, tendo uma nocao de ingles, aprendi a curtir esta linda cancao.
Considering there were only four other Bond movies at the time, this song was foundational to the Bond Sound that later title songs would mimic. IMHO, the "Bond sound" of the best title songs are a mix of this and Goldfinger.
My favorite line in the movie was when Tanaka told him he would have to marry a Japanese girl. Bond said is she beautiful? Tanaka says "she has a face like a pig!" Bond says "Well to hell with that idea!"
His ambiguous glance, cut to black with this song playing over the credits was impeccable, Mad Men creators knew how to give perfect endings for each season
