Shri Nandan Nilekani addresses the Startup India Innovation Week and talks about India's journey of transformation and the Future of Digital Commerce with the Open Network For Digital Commerce
@@souravkumarskb7131 I'm not a seller, just a customer. But I think it can help in terms of smaller brands 'competing in equal footing' as Mr. Nilekani put it. I believe today Amazon and Flipkart possess around 60% of the market share when it comes to online retail. It is quite hard for someone who has started a new brand to sell through these private retailers, as there is an incentive for them to only push certain brands if they can make money out of it. ONDC would make it easier for new brands to enter the market as there would be equity in the value of each seller-whether new or old, big or small.
@@SahithReddy. bro it will only destroy retailers. all small retail shops will shutdown if it becomes a success. also i dont think it can be compete with Amazon and Flipkart
@@Soya8827I know you might hate Modi but why you hate Indian progress….Nandan Nilekani is a Hard core congressi look at his background their is a statue of Mahatma Gandhi…..You guys are becoming toxic
Nandan sir single handedly changes face of India with the Aadhaar and UPI payment gateway and now ONDC. This is the real meaning of technology reaching the hands of mass.
Nandan hits the nail on the head as he foresees the emergence of a plethora of brands in India. ONDC will play a major role in helping retailers reach customers easily at their door-steps and vice-versa. With open networks a much faster growth of ecommerce in India will surely be achieved. Thank you Nandan for your valuable and far-sighted views.
A clear road map of how Bharat/India will be leading Large Scale Transformation in the coming decade. Growth which will be Inclusive. Demoratisation of capital for collective well being. Health for everyone and not jus the privileged. Elimination of corruption Empowerment of the less fortunate to sustain and flourish A proud moment for everyone in the country and an ability for each one of us to add and contribute in this transformation.
Excellent information and explanation. Just a small suggestion. Most of us cannot understand or imagine billion. It becomes much more difficult if you mix up hundred thousand, million, billion and rupees and dollars.
This is going to be a game changer for Indian E-Com. Industry. And to a very large extent this initiative will minimise the market monopoly of today’s E-Com. giants.
This introduction to ONDC by Nandan is an amazing visionary view about why ONDC would play a pivotal role in progress of democratic ecommerce in India as well as across the world
I would like to get comments from Shri Nandan and others on how this platform will help small farmers or Farm producing companies to market their products( especially fruits and perishables) to urban households . If it happens , it will bring phenomenal change in the farm economy.
Excellent Mr. Nandan jee . Yes after watching your video i have very much confident you will bring ONDC will happen in few months not even year . great job sir to you and your team
RED ALERTS are probably going off in Amazon and Flipkart offices right now. A lot of companies are going to feel threatened by this. But I think this is necessary to avoid same onboarding steps being repeated by every ecommerce startup out there.
ONDC is great platform. But it needs its own application so that other third-party should not charge platform charges. Its going to be game changer. We can start open source project to create an exclusive app for ONDC. we have everything in place just need to integrate it. Creating open source application for e-commerce is also kind of democracy in technology.
Salute you for your amazing insights into new megatrends in digital economy and how e-commerce will be the next major growth trigger for our country ❤️🙏
I wonder what impact it'll have on agriculture. If this comes online, farmers can sell their produce directly to consumers anywhere at > MSP rate. If a Kirana store can sell on this platform, why not a farmer or a cooperation of farmers like Amul? Is this why Modiji un did the farm laws?
Agro products are non uniform unlike manufactured goods. They should build trust by partnering with some certifying authority or FMCG guys like ITC. Let's hope the best for them.
Amazing insights from an apt speaker... rich experience of board members is already a great starting, wishing all the very best for ONDC success for a truly essential transition through your target of minimum 30% (would vouch for 50%) Indian retail to e-commerce!
On ondc please introduce standard packings procedures for all types of products. Standardise them so it becomes easy overall. Basic packaging materials required and procedures of packing.
Sir there is a need of same kind of technology for b2b for manufacturers and suppliers and also for International exports and also sell thier products in bulk
I'm still clueless about how ONDC would compete with platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. Just bringing kiryana stores and other local shopkeepers online would solve the problem? How would these small shopkeepers compete with the predatory pricing mechanisms of these e-commerce giants? How will these local stores (or consumer) cope up with the delivery costs? Obviously the delivery partner would be charging some price, and thereby increasing the cost of transaction. At the same time, I really want this initiative to be highly successful, as it would be helpful for the economy at large.
Sir, can there be a India scale supply chain created using this Open Commerce ? It will bring pan India market enablement to Farmers who grow produce, especially vegetables and short shellfire or perishable produce
Huge respect for Nandan ji....But I’m disappointed with his presentation on ONDC......He talk, first 17 minutes about different projects but NOT ONDC....Remaining time he thanked government and his colleagues.....BUT forget to give details about ONDC ......
Around 25 years back we were exporting software that was told to us. Now we have to take license copy from outside. We see more British and European here in india and locals are made jobless. Who is responsible for this ?. Do reply. Thanks
Yeah, cool move, keeping track of the unorganised (illegal) transactions that way. Can't people see through this? UPI followed Demonitization. Nandan Sir said it ALOUD(and somewhat fumbly ngl) 4:37
Regarding Adhar...it was Dr. Manmohan is instrumental and reason for Nilekani participation in the project..unfortunately he didn't even mention Dr. Manmohan Singh.. instead prefer to massage Modi....these fellows may be big in tech but I doubt that their integrity is on the same page...
The only infrastructure required by ondc is gateway and routing nodes . These nodes will only come into picture for discovery of peers in the network . Once the discovery is done, all communication post that becomes peer to peer. Who can run gateway nodes ? Anyone .
@@Mahorir the question was about all solutions that are introduced at the beginning of the video. E.g., does UPI run on a Gov cloud kind of infrastructure, etc.?
@@nsubrahm Its a futile exercise to do own infrastructure but government can do a bidding for specific cloud infra to be only used for government applications. It can than host all the services.
@@chka3440 well, no. Its like saying building roads, dams, bridges and railways is futile during early independence days. Only Gov had the resources to execute projects of national significance and scale. Sure, private sector is quite competent today. Nevertheless, a Gov cloud of, by and for India sounds relevant...if not, urgent.
We will be working on to build a platform which will help to migrate the offline seller to land on online market through ONDC service. Any lead can reach out to me to discuss more on this.
this is a win for the customer and businesses but not necessarily for the aggregators and service providers as it will remove the uniqueness of the aggregators and service providers.
direct tax hatao and indirect tax gst collect by ondc.e-comerce manadtury throw ondc. only transaction tax. charted account ka retailor ka expensess roko. tax nahi ussay jyda charted account fess he. iska ilaj karo njlkaran ji
Where is DBT now all are abolished in terms of LPG subsidy, now rumor also for Rationanig systems that ration cards were withdrawn for 2 lakh and 3 lakh PA earners rural and urban respectively so worthless now talking about DBT
Congress's psychiatrist asking what value addition software does to human body and its stomach . Please answered. According to them all in software are TOILET. Thanks
Indian government is trying to be over smart. This Nandan is a billionaire and he doesn't have anything to loose. But the small indian retailers will loose there livelyhood after this ONDC. Only D2C brands will get benifited. All retailers and wholesalers will get avoided by the manufacturer or direct company. Why you guys are working for this stupid idea. First try to deliver pure water all over India. Then you guys can think about e-commerce 😂😂
