Id add for outdoor output but im really missing a proper fresnel that actually works. The Nanlux 1200 fresnel works a bit better then the aputures but still not as good as an old tungsten fresnel. Thinking about dusting off the 4k fresnel.
The head is 10lb lighter and seems about 30% smaller then the new Aputure x26. The ballast is significantly smaller. And it’s $2000 cheaper. It’s also right at that size and weight where it’s still manageable for small crews. It’s a winner in my books, I just hope they release other reflectors and a fresnel fairly quickly, and I think you’ll see a lot of owner op gaffers and smaller to medium production companies go to this vs aputure’s offering which I found way too big, heavy and unwieldy for the market described above
Something missing from the video is, what are the most common uses for this light? I think personally it can be a good light for window light for a really large space, or an additional light for exterior spaces with cloudy days, even a key light exterior light when the sunlight is not that strong. Night lighting for moon light effect on a relatively large space with diffusion, any other uses you have considered for this light? What have you used it for succesfully?
