Why should I get this and not the Ampero II Stomp, which has more features and costs 100 bucks less?

Only captures, no amp sims, no fx loop, limited effects, no overdrives 😕

Way cooler video, but so short and fast I couldn't even read all the captions live. 70 mins of shit the past three days, and a race-through launch video. Off to watch other promo videos for what looks like a really cool product, Neural please rethink your terrible marketing strategies in future haha.

Neural is about to release a line of lightweight, international luggage. So excited to finally have a suitcase that goes with my VST plugins...

This obviously isn't for a person who hasn't got a nice selection of tube amps to capture or pedals already - and even then those people could probably afford the quad cortex anyways. So this leaves me wonder what's been your target group here.

My dream would be a software version of Cortex and that all the products already purchased could be imported into it. A sort of Tonex or Tonehub by STL. That would be really cool.

Man, I really wanted to love this at $550 as an alternative to the Quad Cortex ($1,700), but it seems to be more of a 'hyped ToneX' ($400) rather than a 'Mini Quad Cortex'. Hard pass if I can't build, and edit, my own signal chain like I can in the Line 6 HX Stomp at a similar price ($650). Huge miss IMO and still leaves the Line 6 HX Stomp as the only serious player in the "few hundred dollar signal builder and amp sim pedal" category for my wallet. I'm hoping this is the lowest tier in the 'Cortex' line and maybe they'll be releasing a 'Bi Cortex' and/or a 'Mono Cortex' to fill the gap soon!

If NeuralDSP planned to troll with *THREE* teaser videos for poor version of hx stomp, well done my hats off to the marketing department.

Biggest thing that's kinda pushing this away for me is no drive section. The FX list is already extremely disappointing (legit only one FX listed per post fx on the website), but seriously having no drive section???? Having a transpose instead?

why is there no overdrive / distortion block ?

This couldn’t be more disappointing. Especially the available FX or pack thereof. And at that price you must be kidding. That’s nearly $2000 Australian dollars. Hard pass

I can live without full fledged amp models. Most of us with a QC probably dial in the model and never touch it again unless swapping IRs. Basically a capture that takes up more CPU. But lack of overdrive and effects is sort of lame. Like, even non-metal players love boosting their amps with many OD pedals. Imagine not being able to toss a tube screamer to your chain if you play metal lol I hope they can patch this thing soon with much needed effects. I get not having enough power or memory to load up huge chains but at least let folks swap out delay and reverb types. And for gods sake give at least a simple 808 for boost/dirt. No way this sells good compared to other comparative products at this price point. About $200 bucks too expensive imo.

The marketing is what's tanked this release if you ask me. As an entry-level unit I'm interested, but after three days of winding up customers with irrelevant, annoying videos no wonder everyone is looking for reasons to hate it. Now those problems have been pointed out I'm sure we're all becoming more dubious of the Nano Cortex! I'm going to sit tight and wait for more reviews to come in, but Neural do seem to have done all they could to engineer a bad release for their own product.

Can we use archtype plugins to Nano Cortex, just like Quad Cortex as well?

I kind of feel like anybody that already has a Quad doesn't need this? The QC is already small enough that portability was never a problem. I guess I was hoping for a screenless QC that I could have sit on my desk and control with the desktop software, but with the full block capability of the QC?

I'm really hoping it has a laser mounted on it.

It’s interesting that Neural seems to be a company most geared towards the new generation of guitarists, yet many of them don’t even own an amp to capture, which makes me wonder why release a compact capture device rather than a compact modeller

The garbage Neural DSP marketing was a huge turnoff, and the nano is a disappointment in itself. I’m glad that people who recently bought the QC will have no buyers remorse in the face of this small-brained release.

WTF is wrong with you, Neural DSP? You seriously need to restructure and re-evaluate your I+D, design, and marketing choices. QC is king, but everything else Neural DSP is going off the rails.

Fixed signal chain...neuraldsp is living in 2016. Even cheap effects have flexible signal chain. What a disappointment. Surely overrated.

the neutering of pre/post effects is a complete train wreck.

I think I unfortunately know the answer to this but will/does it have plugin compatibility like the QC? Like can i load say the parallax on it?

Nice to see that it's possible to do captures with it. Neither the Kemper Profiler Player nor the ToneX pedal can do this, and the Nano Cortex is only about €170 more than ToneX pedal and about €120 cheaper than the Kemper Profiler Player! Well done NDSP, well done.

I bought the nano but I am a bit puzzled. I als bought some Worship Tutorials presets. They asked for my qc username. I gave them the name I Have in the cortex cloud. Is that ok? I can not find their presets. Also, I see the QC has a control app. How doe I deal with the nano in this respect? I want to organise my presets in maps (or something) in the cloud so I can acces these from the nano through the cloud. I can not find the answer on your site so I would be grateful for any help!

You could have replaced all those knobs with one large touch screen on the top making it much easier to use and program

Guess when/IF! I get mine, I will do a decent capture of Nameless X and Nolly X for myself just to carry ithem around. I hope that XLR input can be used for a microphone, though it does not provide Phantom power, so as an interface, it does not cover all my needs at this point.

While it's stereo, there's only a mono input, effectively taking out the possibility of plugging in after a stereo pedal board. Don't know why manufacturers don't get that while only offering one chorus, delay and reverb model in their units like this one. I'm happy with my ToneX Ones for now.

What is the best way to connect an evento de H90?

With two presets per switch and less processing power than the QC, surely it seems like there's an even more finite number of amps and pedals on your pedalboard. Cool product, but bad tagline.

I havent read all the specs from the Quad Cortex, but from what I've heard it didn't have MIDI support/Bluetooth...or does it? Seems like the Nano has those features, which seems odd
