You just write what is in your heart, Jay! It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. It's your story and you do it the way you want! Hope the next writing days treat you well! I wish my first drafts were my worst ones. I usually start out ok and then tinker my stuff to death. I always keep my original drafts so I can go back and see what I did before I messed everything up with editing. Have an awesome day!
writing is a struggle for all of us! And I love keeping my first drafts too--there's always a little special nugget in there that makes you think "Oh, this idea IS good. I gotta stop overthinking it" :D These last few days have been a struggle, but we are still trucking, which is all I could ask for!
You've got wheels turning in your noggin and an idea about the direction you want your story to go! That sounds like a great start to Nanowrimo. And even if you don't reach your daily word goal on any given day, remember that some words are better than no words and you are already doing an amazing at this by sheer fact taht you are doing it! (speaking as someone who is terrified by the thought of Nanowrimo!)
Hell yes to letting go of perfect!! Showing up every day and doing just whatever you can is going to incredibly pay off one day. Good luck on your journey!

There are people whose dream is to write a book and they never start. Every time you commit time to your story and put words on a page this month you are honoring your dream and getting further than most people ever do, friend 💜 also I try to turn my writing into a sneaky mischievous thing like 'oh, I should be adulting with XYZ but I'm going spend some time with these awesome fictional people and world instead'
You're riiiight Kelly. And I am proud to say that I've been writing everyday, haven't broken the streak yet! lol that doesn't work for me. I get very stressed when I'm not doing my adulting duties xD
