NAO Next Gen : the new robot of Aldebaran Robotics 

11 years ago I watched this video and I was obsessed with this thing. I was only around 7 at the time, so I didn't know that this was intended for things like research and education. I just thought it was a toy. I begged my parents to get it for me, obviously they denied due to the price. This trailer still brings back memories.

When I saw this as a kid I was like WOW YOU CAN HAVE YOUR OWN ROBOT FRIEND

I remember seeing this when I was younger lmao, still think its cool, especially seeing how long its been since this video’s release. Looking back and seeing how far we have gone is really crazy.

I watched this video when i was 6 (around 9 years ago) and the music immediately caught my attention. The song playing throughout this video is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang by High Contrast. To this day I still listen to this song and thank this video for introducing me to the world of DNB. These guys have NO IDEA how much it has impacted my life... :-)

This video got me hooked on NAOs back in the day and made me want one ever since. Now i get to work with them at my university.

My childhood was spent watching these damn videos.

I love this NAO robot, me personally, I have a thing for Robotics and this autonomous robot puts me in awe. I tried showing this video to others I know, but they got bored after a couple of seconds. They don't know a good thing when they see it. As for me, I have always had a great passion for Robotics. My hats off to you NAO Aldebaran-Robotics. I woud most definately love to own this miraculous Robot.

I wish my lab could afford one of these little guys. Would be awesome to have a little robot like this one to keep the attention of students and help with the lectures.

A.w.e.s.o.m.e. You did it again. You have excelled yourselves with this new Nao. Congratulations Aldebaran :). Just one question.. how do you distinguish (when they are not in movement) a Previous Gen Nao from a Next Gen Nao?. Are the light colors (light blue and orange) the key to the external difference?

You will be surprised how sentient they will become in just a few years. If we all began to show respect for everything around us, our computers, cars, our bodies, other people, and in particular other Earthians, then things would be able to balance out on this planet. It would bring love to all of us and we would have so much more joy to experience. Respect is love, love is joy, not only the love we each receive but more even the love we feel within us for other beings, plants and things.

I am totally going to get one when I reach college. He might be able to help me with my studies and help me get ready for tests. :D

That was the most hilarious RU-vid comment I've seen in quite a while... That was sarcasm, right? If not, then thank you. I strive to be a nerd, and I act nerdy 24/7. I've grown up in a nerdy environment, and I've been surrounded by things that I want to learn about for my entire life. My nerdiness is going to get me far in life. Because of it, I strive to learn more and more. And might I point out, good sir, that this is a video on the internet about a robot. What kind of people do you expect?

Amazing, really amazing. The fall protection is great. However, I just wish robots would run a little faster.

These things are so cute! When they become more affordable, go out to the market in late 2012, I'm gonna get one. I'm gonna name it GIR, and program it do silly & random things! I'd hug him all day too! :-D I've thought about getting one from the NAO Developer program, but they're still 3600 Euros (roughtly $4,693.53 USD). I really hope they become more affordable next year. I REALLY want one........ NAO!!!!!
