There’s something amazing about the voice acting and dialogue in this game. It may be due to the fact that they probably didn’t have to worry too much about facial animation or body language.
Never played this game, but all the others. I can already see the MGS Saga dna all over it. Not doubt this must had been an incredible BOOM for videogames at the time.
Oh it was, so far ahead of its time. I still remember being amazed at 7 years old by Psycho Mantis telling me to put my controller down and then making it vibrate.
Actually you are seeing the DNA of this game on all the others. This was the game that set the standard This game along with Resident Evil and Final Fantasy VII changed what a game could be, it turned games into a legitimate story telling medium
Jennifer Hale is also the female Commander Shepard and the Republic Trooper on Star wars the old Republic...she's an awesome person to...she signed my N7 hoodie at a convention before I deployed to Afghanistan.
Jennifer Hale sounds a lot different here than she does in Metal Gear Solid 4. Then again, Metal Gear Solid was made in 1998, and Metal Gear Solid 4 was made in 2008
In the original Metal Gear Solid (1998), she has a little bit of a british accent then in Metal Gear Solid 4 (2008), the accent is gone. I mean she's just doing her job, she's one of the most talented voice actors of all time. She even voice Emma Emmerich which is Otacon's little sister in Metal Gear Solid 2 (2001).
@@joshuaedler7041 Naomi & Mei Ling were never meant to have accents. Notably, the accents were dropped in the (sub-par) Gamecube remake on Metal Gear Solid.
It’s so sad, she thought David was her enemy, and you can’t blame her because he did kill both Frank and big boss so to speak. However because of this game and what she did to you, she over the course realizes what a mistake she’s made. She realized you were a good person doing the best you can to save everyone, and she just was nothing more than a tool with enough revenge to follow through the injection. It’s cruel and a Tragedy, but that’s war; which unfortunately never changes.
You get later why Campbell had to double cross Snake and he even redeems himself, but man he’s sure lucky Snake didn’t just give up on them. Then again, maybe that would have saved their skins too considering how REX activated.
He had already done the mission at that point too, by the Patriots standards, since he had already come into contact with Liquid at the interrogation room and FoxDie was inoculated.
I disagree, personally. Old classics like this do not need remakes. They are as beloved as they are because they still hold up. I couldn't care about graphics or control complaints personally... these games are perfect as is. We wouldn't have what we do today without the gems like this, Final Fantasy 7, Silent Hill, etc. from the PS1 era.
Naomi is one of the most hated characters in mg series, but i can understand her point of view. She lost the only reason she had to still living in this cruel world, and by Solid Snake. Most of people hwo hates her would do the same if they got the man hwo killed their family. Naomi had a hard life until the end.
That’s because you don’t really know her true intentions till the very end even after she’s dead. You don’t realize it until the video she plays after JD was erased.
... who hates Naomi? She's a critically important & well written character in Metal Gear Solid. Naomi adds a very human element important in Snake's character development. Now in MGS4 she's a Messiah that acts nothing like Naomi from this game, but that's different.
@@jaredgarcia8638 I can’t even hate Vamp. When you read his backstory he had a pretty f***ed up life. He was forced to drink the blood of his family to survive. Hence where he got his name. You could see in MGS4 he really wanted to die. Hoping that Raiden would be the one to end his suffering. And Roy may have seemed like he was using Snake, but he protected him and Rose at the end. I don’t think there is any character I didn’t like. Maybe Paz Ortega.
Naomi: "Snake, can you hear me? It's Naomi." Snake: "Naomi?! What the hell?!" I know this scene is supposed to be serious, but did anyone else find that exchange kinda funny?
She was trying to tell Snake that the FOXDIE was part of the mission, it was not her plan but the Pentagon’s. Snake was supposed to be a mean to spread the virus among the soldiers in Shadow Moses, so that the terrorists could be killed without destroying the Rex. Snake has been used by the government, but Naomi managed to modify the virus (we don’t know actually how, probably she saved some time for Snake)

Naomi tells him in MGS4 that it’s a feature that was programmed into his DNA (and Liquid and Solidus’s, too) when he was genetically engineered as part of the Les Enfants Terribles project. All of Big Boss’s clones had their lifespans shortened to reduce the chances of them falling into enemy hands, supposedly. It doesn’t make much sense to me tbh but my suspicion is that this was the team’s way of explaining why Solidus looks so old in Solid 2 despite only being in his thirties like Snake lol
@@liquidcnake But what's the point? It was already remade with The Twin Snakes and The original Metal Gear Solid is already the best game of all time. Kojima isn't on-board with Konami anymore, so why re-make Kojima's best creation that is still playable today and still is the best game of all time? If they are desperate to remake something, they should remake Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2.
@@solidmac yeah they remade it 20 years ago, and it was clunky asf. I agree that they should remake MG1 and 2SS but remakes should have modernize gameplay, does twin snakes have that?
