Naoya Inoue (井上尚弥 Inoue Naoya, born 10 April 1993) is a Japanese professional boxer. He is a three-weight world champion, having held the WBA (Regular) bantamweight title since 2018. Previously he held the WBO junior-bantamweight title from 2014 to March 2018, and the WBC light-flyweight title in 2014.[3] Nicknamed "The Monster", Inoue is known for his devastating punching power and brutal body attack. As of May 2017, he is ranked as the world's best junior-bantamweight by The Ring magazine and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, and second by BoxRec. As of December 2018, he is also currently ranked as the world's sixth best active boxer, pound for pound, by The Ring and Ranked #1 by Boxing Action Magazine.

Is Inoue train in any other Marshal Arts like Kung Fu or in karate by any chance ? I think that a lot of his defence in boxing comes with a little Karate and some of Bruce Lee's (THE INTERRUPTING FIST) Just my guess. That's how good he uses his defence when his fighting anyone in the ring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

井上は敢えて最初に相手にパンチをださせガードが空いた瞬間に、相手のパンチが自分に届く一瞬前に、超速のパンチを当てると聞いた。相手のパンチは当たってはいるが、予定通りなので上手くダメージのない打たれ方をしているのだと思う。ドネアはその井上の戦法を読んで鋭いパンチを当てていたけどね。

I think his power is generated thru torque, leverage and speed...If a fighter knows how to implement those 3 principles effectively, he can generate a lot of power, which is what Inoue does very well. imo

Nieves was told by his trainer '..do the Virgil Hill.." and he did, all the way to getting put down by a body shot like Hill was by Roy Jones.. but I respect Nieves for being tough, disciplined, and doggedly determined. Inoue was just too much for him.

Milton Welch Hi Milton. Yes, Nieves has plenty of good fights behind him and a greate boxe. However in this fight he was afraid and lost his tactics as he os used to pressure fighters, not run and contra. Been following boxing for over 50 years so credit where it belongs with respect for fighters. Good fighter, but a total outclassed against Inoue. He went toe to toe...bad idea, but I get your point.

He is a better version of early Pacquiao when he debut in the US. Inoue almost has already gotten everything (speed, power, precision, techniques, both hands, lethal jab, both hook, both upper cuts, right & smart ring IQ). Legend in the making. Will be amazing to see further improvement. The only 2 things remains to be seen are how he does going up to different weight classes apart from the 3 he had already won and if he can have the kind of foot speed / footwork like Pacquiao, then we have a great treat in front of us.

Inoue's body attack & infighting technique are superior to Pacquaio's, but I don't think he can match Pacquiao's 8 or 9 divisions - Pacquiao was still growing when he won a flyweight title, but Inoue is pretty much the finished product - body wise - at bantamweight. We still have a treat in front of us with Inoue, regardless of the result of next week's fight - looking forward to it.

Inoue doesn't have the typical look of heavy puncher. What do you expect from the bottom of the weight class ladder, right? I think he's taking advantage of it. First impression the opponents get are that his punches feel like being hit by a hammer. When you feel that way, it's too late.

If you don't know how it feels like...imagine trying to do a jog, while every breath you take feels like an aching knife stabs deep into your ribs, but since your opponent is Inuoe, he doesn't stop. He comes in stronger especially when he knows you're hurt. Like who can stop this kind of opponent, when he can hurt you so badly in mere moments, and then chases you down until the ends of Earth, while pounding you into submission or worst.

i think inoe cant win agaisnt pacman in his prime weight. pacman has a unique technique and has a speed and power, while inoe only has power and speed, but i think pacman is faster than inoe in his prime.

I hate that point in a fight when the opponent is in pure survival mode, and Inoue is simply chasing him around the ring. It's no longer a fight, the kill is imminent, and it's dismal to watch. :^{
