Lovely altered playing cards! I use clear gesso on playing cards when using them in a project and I have not had any problems with paper and ephemera sticking to them. Great prompt for the week.

These are wonderful! I especially loved the technique for stabilizing the napkin focal points with freezer paper! It has been a staple in my craft room for appliqué and many other things, but I have never thought of using it this way. Game changer in making the most of beautiful napkins! Thank you!

Now Nina, nobody would have noticed your nails if you hadn’t apologized for them. You should see MY nails, so battered from the garden and sometimes stained with soil and or paint! I feel very fortunate if they come clean when I do the dishes. The little cards are absolutely smashing! I got myNinny’s Napkins and they are so much fun to use. Also, the playing cards make wonderful things to slip into pockets in journals.

I've been using playing cards to go in Junk Journals I've been making for my nieces & nephews. I cut out the middles of two cards and make "windows" in them and put their initials in the windows and glue the two cards together, back-to-back, then "bling" them up a little bit. I think I will give this a try on the Journals for the 2 teens, which will be more like Art Junk Journals because they like to draw and paint. I never know making JJ's could be so fun. 😁😉LOL! Thanks for sharing your ideas and talent with us.

I love your cards.I never knew about the freezer paper used on the napkin.I use that paper for all kinds of reasons.Everywhere from wrapping meat for the freezer and tracing items in crafting and quilting. Thank you, your ideas are great always

Oh my how cute, I also loved the little lady one you showed with the string of pearls as a hanger. I should write down about that one as I think it would make a fabulous ornament for the Xmas tree - you could maybe revive in the weeks up to Xmas I know I would love to see what you did and I'm sure everyone else would too. These all are so pretty! Love how you can still see the numbers on them so you know they are altered playing cards. I'm taking an Art Class once a week on Wednesday and it's challenging to say the least, so I have not had much time to do any of the prompts, but I'm going to give this one a go right now before I do anything else.

When I put napkins on the top of cardstock.. I will put matt medium over the top of the cardstock.. let it dry completely, once dry, I place the napkin on top.. over the top of the napkin I put parchment paper.. I then iron it on the highest setting.. the matt medium will liquify and the napkin sticks to it and the cardstock.. let cool.. then trim the edges.. so easy less messy.

These are gorgeous! If anyone goes the saran wrap route, use wrap that is NOT (yes, not) made for microwaves. Use the cheapest, most basic, and make sure it doesn't say "microwave safe" or "microwaveable". If it's made for the microwave it won't adhere the napkin to paper. At least it didn't for me, until I used non-microwaveable saran wrap. 😄
