Started watching you guys many years ago around the time of Batman vs Superman and when marvel was becoming hotter and hotter. Now I’m much older, and I’m so glad that unlike some of the other creators I used to watch, you guys have aged and matured with me. Between the start of the episode talking about Israel-Palestine, the get vaccinated rant, and the WGA/SAG strikes talk, you guys continue to be based as fuck, and are always a joy to watch and listen to. To many more years of The Weekly Planet and Caravan of Garbage, and to the return of Rodney, cheers gents, yous are sound like 🤘

For what it's worth, I always appreciate when you guys take the time to comment on things like the Scream 7 situation. I know you hate doing it, but comic book movies don't exist in a vacuum, and it's nice to get reminders that you are, indeed, great mates!

Loved the post-credits scene where Julius Caesar came through a portal and role Napoleon he was building a team. Can’t wait to see how it ties in to the next Karate Kid.
I think you are confusing Napoleon with Mussolini or with white nationalist of the modern world. Napoleon did not had a hardon for roman empire, neither has any European leader besides fascist. For as much as I agree with you and am proud James an Maso are on the right side of history... I really wish they hadn't said anything at all. I think right now it is too impassioned on both sides to have a reasonable discussion regarding the facts. This means the boys may lose sponsorship deals or create fervent detractors, and they are still on the way up in RU-vid. They arent quite at the Markiplier or Tayor Swift levels of "fuck you, this is what I think" success. I had a slight argument with my Chinese brother-in-law who usually doesn't care about politics, which flabbergasted me! It seems everyone who even slightly looks into the issue will be pro-Israel so it is scary to voice a Left-leaning opinion that Israel is perpetrating war-crimes. I just want people who don't usually talk politics to stay out of it, but as this issues drags-on, that will be impossible.

Explain to me, rationally, why I would actively side with Israel. What I think is needed is peace, and a two-state solution. Palestine needs to be its own nation, otherwise the Palestinian people will be ethnically cleansed. I think you’ll find MOST left-leaning people will be anti-Israel AND anti-Hamas. Both are evil, but Palestine should still be free.

Look at the children Israel is realeasing now, 14 year old kids that have spend the last 2 years of their life in prison because they throw a rock, or because they had a video on their phone Israel considered subversive. It is the ignorant and complacent majority of people that will get angry and have been guilty of doxxing students at Ivy league schools or rescinding employment offers or even censuring Congress-members due to any anti-Israeli language. That is the kind of backlash I don't want for James and Mason. Yeah, except it’s not really what is going on in Gaza, but okay. The IDF is fighting a terrorist organisation that thoroughly has embedded itself into the population, infrastructure and even into the ground in one of the most densely populated areas of the world. Even so, the IDF still send out warnings before going into an area. They encourage people to leave. And they investigate accusations of crimes done by their soldiers. Hamas wouldn’t dream of doing any one of those things. Multiple international military observers has mentioned that the IDF are going above and beyond in trying to avoid civilian casualties, but of course it is impossible to avoid. I suppose the basic difference is whether you have already forgotten Oct. 7th and think all that happend since is the IDFs fault or you blame it squarely on Hamas. Hamas, who executed 6 hostages just a few days ago and blamed the IDF for “pushing them too hard, so they had to”.

I think james is pretty right on with the idea that Napoleon was "Lucky" while in exile he did comment to say his good luck had finally ended. The Terror, Wars and overall situation in france was perfect for him to rise through the ranks speedly. He was the right man at the perfect time. And yeah he was abit of a massive fucking incel. I'll be honest: I'm a little sad John Woo doesn't care about superhero movies, as I'd love to see him make one. Whether it's the more muted violence (but still action heavy) MI2 or something a little more graphic like Hardboiled, he's a great action director, and I'd love to see what he'd do with a superhero film (and which one he'd make - would it be the obvious Punisher or maybe Daredevil, or a ridiculous Hawkeye film?). That said, if he doesn't like them, that's unfortunate, but I don't blame him for it.

Hot take Jackie Chan's karate kid movie is really underrated- the kung fu and philosophy is portrayed really well and jackie and jaiden smith are both really good. Also in kung fu panda he's monkey

Re: Ridley Scott’s movies: His biggest flaw as a director imho, has always been that he doesn’t pay enough attention to the scripts. He’s much more focused on the visual aspects of his productions, and the performances can sometimes be off as a result.

I don’t know about this Napoleon movie. I probably would’ve changed some things. Maybe rewrite which battles he won and lost. One thing in particular is not let him lose the Waterloo battle.
As someone familiar with the history, i cannot express how disappointing this movie was. It's weirdly vindictive, the inaccuracies are absolutely everywhere, and Ridley Scott's attitude towards the history is really telling.
Definitely check out The Duelists. It's one of my favorite Ridley Scott films. It's absolutely phenomenal if you love sword fighting. Also it's funny because the real story is actually MORE over the top than the film.

But the real question is, did they properly report it as coming from The Weekly Planet’s recurring segment “Hot Scoop or Shot of Poop”? I think a major-ish news outlet has picked up one of their scoops in the past, but didn’t properly report it because they were cowards afraid of the word “poop”.
