I’m so disappointed that Netflix isn’t giving Hit Man a proper theatrical run. I saw it a few weeks ago in a packed theater and the vibes were amazing. It’s funny, tense, and thoughtful definitely recommend checking it out!
You're more than eager to shit on people giving Acolyte a one star review, but you won't speak a word of why reviewers are giving it five stars. You can't get through a single episode anymore without carrying water for all the progressive ideals being stuffed into media these days.
What fucking ideals was The Acolyte shoving down your throat? Like honest question really. What were they doing or saying in either episode that was so smothering to you?
One thing that I found ironic about the Acolyte and its great that apparently Im not the only one is that certain scenes and shots look like a film and others look so cheaply and badly done..it just seems like different people are filming the show...some good and some really bad
I think the Acolyte is gonna be one of those shows that only gets worse and becomes so infamous people who care will hate watch it to make fun of it just like secret invasion
I agree with The Acolyte being good but it's the execution. I like the overall idea could have worked, but the choices they make plot wise, the direction, everything is horrendously done. Random specific thought: It would have been better exploring anything, but more Jedi. If every show hadn't been so Jedified it wouldn't be a problem.
My friend worked on the new venom film in the costume department. I'm gonna have to watch it just to see his name in the credits. He also worked on the new Downton Abbey. So proud of him. 😁
They've talked about it before sometime during their reviews of the prequels, but James hit it on the head when he said that The Acolyte needs a straight man character to bounce off the Jedi. Someone to look at that pack of nerds in the eyes and say "You’re all fucking idiots."
Andor has poisoned Star Wars fandom, with how it's somehow convinced people that now Star Wars 'has' to be some grimdark Christopher Nolanized heavy and pretentious drama/thriller FOR ADULTS... or else it's lowbrow slop for Disney whores. Did you forget when Star Wars was designed to be pulpy, campy space opera for kids? Andor fandom can fuck off at this point, with how they rant at every new thing 'IT'S NOT ANDOR THO.'
I really liked Prey and thought Amber Midthunder did great. However, I do not wish to see a direct sequel of that movie. I was really hoping they'd go into a different time with a different type of warrior. The idea the internet was floating around with Hiroyuki Sanada as a Samurai taking on a Predator would have been great or at least something like that.
