One of my favourite songs from Heathers, so funny at first and then completely changes into one of the most serious and unforgettable songs I’ll heard. I’ll never forget the audiences reaction of silence and then loud applause when I saw it live back in June.
so i have an absurly pretencious analysis of this song and you might care to read it. anyways, i think that whats really great about this song is that it recontextualices the narrative around these to characters, who before this where just a stereotypical jock and a comedic relief, and its not denieing the fact that Martha is inmature and dumb, but its presenting it as no laughing matter, forcing you to face the fact that you where makeing fun of a person that never choose to be a moron, thats right Dority! you never needed the heathers to be mean, the real bully was inside you all along!!
I heard that the cast especially the leads didn’t have the best relationships. Maybe the ensemble members would though, from what I’ve seen they get along fine. Example, Molly Hagar and Rachel/Madsie Flynn we’re friend fighting (if that makes sense) in the comments of one of my Instagram posts 😂. And I’m pretty sure Dustin and Madsie/Rachel are still friends. Plus Dan still openly supports Heathers in general, and I’m sure he is still nice/friends with the rest of the ensemble.
