As a kid I used to watch it on doordarshan and found it boring..but now when I am grown up..can see the beautiful details of this ancient art form and the efforts it would take by the artists to master it. Really proud of my Indian diverse heritage.
Omg the kathakali drums sound similar to the Tassa drums in Trinidad they share the similar beat is amazing, they are thousands of miles from each other.they share ame indian ancestry 🌼🌼🌼
Bro this isn’t a folk dance it’s one of the 8 classical dances of India....dances like Bhangra or garba can be called folk these art forms are more than 3000 years old

I don't know much about Hinduism but I guess on the left you have Shiva and on the right Shakti turning into Kali out of anger? cause I heard Kali is the angry version of Shakti....Or some completly different God just killing a female demon? some help please XD
Narakasura, a vicious demon and Jayantha, the valorous son of Lord Indra (King of Gods). Nakrathundi, Narakasura’s sister gets attracted to Jayantha and approaches him in the guise of Lalitha, a beautiful woman. Jayantha rejects her love and the disappointed demoness takes her normal form and attacks him. He injures her (taken from the website posted in the description box)
Plot Narakathundi,A She-Demon had got a message from his brother,Narakasur. Narkasur was the King of Demons. Narkasur wanted to conquer Swarga(Heaven). He didn't know what was happening in heaven. So, he gave the responsibility to scout heaven to Narakathundi. And so Narakathundi disguised herself as a seductive woman named Lalitha. While Lalitha was scouting heaven,She met the prince of Heaven Jayanthanan,a handsome warrior. She fell in love and asked him to marry her. He told that without his father's permission he won't marry her. Hearing this,Lalitha came in her true form as a She-Demon. Jayanthanan and Narakathundi had a battle. Jayanthanan cleansed his Sword and gone to Indra Dev(King of Heaven) to tell what and all had happened.

The lady is Nakrathundi, a maid of Narakasura. She is enamored of Jayanta, the son of Indra and attempts to seduce him in the disguise of a lovely woman. Jayanta sees through this and shoos her away. Nakrathundi takes her original form as an ugly demoness and tries to molest Jayanta who cuts off her breasts.
