Was visiting Vancouver for the Red Hot Chili Pepper's concert and ran into Nardwuar downtown 4ish hours before the show. Got a picture with him and he said goodbye with a doot doola doot doo. I will never forget that moment I randomly ran into Nardwuar. Pure class, very kind, legend. Love you Nardwuar
wow, super cool- it'd be a dream running into him and chatting for a bit. btw, heard the van city rhcp show was tremendous- saw them in toronto last summer, our set list, sadly, sucked... super mainstream, no deep cuts... seeing them in syracuse soon, fingers crossed we get something special! last i saw them before this tour was in '06 on the stadium arcadium tour... that was absolutely magical. how do you like the new albums? also, any idea if nardwuar managed to get an interview with them? that would seriously complete my life- my fav band since i was a kid!
@@whitebuffalo4904 if I seen em interview the chilli peppers I'd not be able to like it enough. I'm obsessed with their style, how it evolved, changed and started.
When Molly said “pencil crayons”, that pretty much gave away her Canadian-ness. The first time I ever heard colored pencils referred to as that was in the Barenaked Ladies song “Life In A Nutshell” (“She memorized every pencil crayon color in the box, her blue green eyes complement the burnt Siena in her locks”).
Nardwuar basically just just finding every east coast celtic music item he can find in Vancouver and then figuring out what participant is related to Alvvays and how
My gosh what a charming bunch of cuties. Love Molly... what a doll. Alec is a real music nerd and a gifted guitarist.. Kerri's keys are big part of their vibe... the two ladies in the rhythm section rock! I just love them all. Blue Rev is my pick for best album of 2022... the T-shirt of the album cover was such a fun gift to give Nardwuar! LOL Nice one Alvvays! I hope they're touring this summer... hope to finally see them perform live.
Sheridan probably gave an idea to Nardwuar about finding out who shares a birthday. Seeing a photo of Master T was awesome. Also hearing Much VJs being mentioned.. I miss the old Much Music.I still try to go through some used records store to collect any Much related CDs/VHS and any Chris Sheppard CDs.
This is amazing! This interview opened up so much about the band. I barely knew anything about sheridan much less abby. Pretty sure that is the first time i heard abby speak. And all the stories we get to hear from molly and co. Cant thank you enough nardwuar❤
That's crazy I was on an Alvvays kick the other month! Ones who love you made a comeback in my mind, and then a few days ago listening to Aly & AJ I was getting similar sonic vibes! Thank you Nardwuar and co.!
Nardwuar referencing great maritime Canadian artists like the Rankin’s, Sloan, Anne Murray, Two Hours Traffic, The Cottars, Joel Plaskett is so thrilling to this Cape Bretoner.
Big shiny tunes, that's awesome! I have fond memories of Much during the 2000s especially Much On Demand, not sure anything like that will ever exist in Canada again.
First time I met Tom Daniels, he picked me and my friend up hitchhiking coming home from Halifax and then I found out I had graduated high school with his girlfriend. Bloomed into a very nice friendship, love Tommy and Gabs. Great interview, now come and play in Halifax, Molly and KJ lol
Wild my recent as of last year favorite band to listen to gets a Nardwaur interview. That was quick. The RU-vid algorithm put me onto em last summer, then everything for them seemed to pick up more steam for them in their career as a band than ever. I wonder if their label pushed more for the most recent release. They are consistent.
I have that Strawberry ep about 2 meters to my right as I sit on my sofa typing to you. We saw them so many times as kids attending UPEI at The Apothecary and The Barn.
I might be biased because I'm Canadian and from Halifax, NS and get all these references here...but: this could be the best episode ever ha ha Also, Dance Mix 95 was the epitome of man ha ha
