the reason l love these Nard interviews: You think these celebs can't be touched and have everything in the world.... then Nard busts out an old LP and that cover is blown.... it's like they're kids again.
I think its cool how he doesnt really ask direct questions about them. Rather showing music history making them relive and speak on those moments. Nardwuar is the f*ckin man!!
This guy brings genuine nostalgic happiness from almost everyone he interviews. Amazing. Best Journalist ever. Goes to show there is no need to vilify or confront celebrities to be considered good in their craft.
The dude's a genius... the interview he did with Jigga... caught him of guard with some stuff he had... & really caught R.A., man he wasn't ready for Nardwaur... lmfao
I love how drake introduces 40 as one of his best friends rather than "my producer" like he doesn't even have to think twice. And then drake sais he can introduce himself. Really cool guy
They're excitement is contagious. A room full with literally nothing but Canadian legends. Drake and 40 forever changed the game, Nard is one of kind. Canada should be proud. A timeless interview.
***** Most artist who have great music dont write all their raps either. And how is being sensitive a bad thing when Pac was sensitive. Aint nothing wrong with having emotions u bitch ass nigga
Music is an outlet, people who make music can use it as a way to express emotions and thoughts they wouldn't in a real life setting. Drake is a very cordial person (at least what he shows in public) and when he makes music he comes off as arrogant/over confident. That's just how it works. Some of the musicians who make some of the softest music are the most arrogant fuckers in actuality and some musicians who make some of the hardest/arrogant music are very down to earth humble people.
Big .Baloo thats a great point. just sad to me that arrogance is the popular thing selling in music today. i remember when puff daddy was the most arrogant guy in hip hop, now he seems humble compared to what these other fools are rapping about.
TheBombShhh every popular rapper including pac, kendrick and em portray a cocky, arrogant macho who is very confident in his craft and his rhymes (not in every song tho just like drake). Hip-Hop is competitive by nature and is about being better than the rest and feeling that way and stating just that. That may come across arrogant, but the hip-hop audience knows what it means and where it comes from so everything is fine. I don't see the problem of being a nice humble dude in an interview and saying in your raps that you're the best, have the most money, that there is no competition for you and so on, as long as the artist does it in an entertaining, smart and clever matter there should really be no need to doubt the state of hip-hop. It has always been that way. Even the god tupac boasted and bragged in his songs. That's Rap!
TheHidalgo99 dude i've been listening to rap since 1992, i get what you're saying but i also disagree with it. tupac boasted and bragged, but didn't come off like a complete asshole in his songs. plus his best work are songs where he didn't have to brag about money or material shit, songs like pour out a little liquor
Why is that? Nardwuar's not retiring is he? I hope not-Kanye would be a bad choice anyways, he takes himself way too seriously! Besides, I think Nardwuar keeps trying to get an interview, but Kanye keeps turning him down bcuz he knows Nardwuar would dig up some real obscure info from his past-Nardwuar is like the CIA of the music world!
Wow meek got bodied by the most passive looking rapper of all time. This guy looks like he puts the spider in a cup and sets it outside and he squashed the life out of poor meek. That's fucked. I hope there is an M Night Shyamalan type ending to this shit.
I like artist a lot more when they just go with Nard’s weird ass style instead of being awkward and defensive. It shows which artist have a lot of character, and Knowledge when they appreciate how much effort and research Nard does to find unique gifts that tie into their past.
STFU wit yo giving white people the black card ass. Never will he ever be black, let alone more do than Drake? You're asking white folks to steal our identities
my attitude towards drake changed durin this interview. hes a nice dude. anyone who respects nardwuar n understands the importance of people like him are real n smart.
You can tell how comfortable Drake got with Nardwuar by how he took off his glasses eventually. Cool stuff. Great interview. I love how candid everyone gets with him.
Nardwuar’s interviews with rappers never cease to amaze me. Pharrell, Snoop, Drake, etc. all come off as cool, laid back dudes with a good sense of humour… It’s always a disappointment when Nardwuar interviews Blur, Sonic Youth or Beck and they all end up looking like solemn, self-serious assholes.
That was drake at the beginning of the decade. “Yeah, and the visual is stunnin' I hope they document what I'm becomin'” Only the real ones know the song 🔥
You know, I am not a huge fan of Drake's music, but he seems like a really nice dude. This interview made me respect him more for sure. Great interview Nardwuar!
Nard loves making people happy, especially people he loves and admires. He’s so much to take at first with his crazy energy, but then you learn how genuine it is REALLY quickly
