I feel like how an artist treats nardwuar is a great scale of their overall character. Growing up idolizing Dave Mustaine, finding this video today, I was kind of worried that this interview would change my thoughts on Dave. Honestly one of my favorite nardwuar videos now, it seems like Dave was a fan of nardwuars beforehand even
NapanTR He's a Christian now. He said that the lyrics he wrote on some of the first albums, like the Conjuring, opened the door for evil spirits to mess with him. He probably didn't believe in spirits before then.
Josh Schulz It's sad that he believes crap like that. I was reading a interview with him and he stated that he was into witchcraft and black magic in the past.
NapanTR Why is it sad he's Christian? When he wasn't Christian, he practiced black magic and summoned these demons to mess with him his entire life. Christianity is the only thing that could hold the demons back.
Narduar is one of the best interviewers EVER! You know why? Because he gets right to the point and asks the questions that need to be asked, but he brings out the humor in all the artists so that is not pretentious or cold like other standard issue interviews. And he's a total geek, which is awesome. Also, Narduar does his damn homework.
no they all give so much during the interviews because he seems well versed in their careers... but then he pulls that shit. It's stupid and demeaning. Sonic Youth knew what to do
I've been on so many hip-hop videos and I'm just now finding all these metal ones. Was kinda scared to see how much of an asshole Dave would be, but he came off surprisingly nice.
He's definitely a guy who is not nice just to be nice. He's quite honest. He's only an asshole to shitty interviewers and posers :) I think it's cool that he doesn't have patience for bullshit. I was a dead-set fan in the 00s and watched every single interview and even got the chance to interact with him for about 45 mins in an airport. He gave me a life lesson when I asked him about Metallica: Anger is good, hate is not.
When he interviews metal bands it's the best since you know they are all thinking "what the hell is going on?" :) That's the most smiling I have seen from Dave in an interview.
This interview is cool! I love the ones where people either get it or at least kind of play along with the whole interview. Like, I remember one with Tom Morello and it was cool because I don't think he really knew what was happening but he played along anyway and it was funny. But there was one with Flea and he was totally lost and seemed annoyed. I find it funny that Megadeth reacted better than the crazy bass player from the Chili Peppers lol.
The average Joe would think Dave is acting rude by being short and talking in a bored voice but what they don't understand is that this is the most enthusiastic you'll ever see him
"Megadeth you guys have really remained true...There's Metallica, there's Slayer, there's Slayer but the hair is still there we gotta love that Dave" Ellefson had short hair here...
@@abortionsurvivor6639 4 tracks were written by dave; Jump In The Fire, Four Horsemen, Phantom Lord, Metal Militia... all music by dave and lyrics by james except for four horsemen which has a different solo iirc
I both the 2-disc DVD set, Nardwuar. Great stuff! Hadn't seen some of it in many years. Oh, I see you're a Guru. First time seeing that designation, I think. What does it signify here?
CIRCLE OF TONE Your friend for guitar tone yeah but Dave never forces that shit into his music, that's what he was talking about... lol Anyone that listens to Megadeth that doesn't know Dave would never guess that he's a Christian...
Dave is definitely a dangerous individual. There's no denying that you can feel it in the room as you watch the interview commence. But the Savvy interviewer who knows the right questions to ask can make an interview fun even when it's with Mustaine. I've heard he's mellowed out a bit in his advancing years. Hopefully that's true and he's found a stable Foundation of happiness which is what I've always wished for him
megadeth meatloaf.....which brings the question... have you ever played with meatloaf?...have you ever met the meatloaf? great segway that was terrific. only the nardwuar brings it like that. love you nard. and i am watching so many of your very very interesting interviews. keep em coming man! i know you have been since the mid 80s!
Fuck, I was at that show at The Commodore. They Didn't play anything from Killing Is My Business... I would've liked to hear Last Rites/Loved To Death. But they played two songs each from the next three albums which was cool. I only like up to Rust In Peace so the newer shit kinda grating but all in all a pretty damn good show and in a club that fits 800 people... better than at a stadium.
Did I hear him correctly? STRYPER played with metallica ??? That is fucking HILARIOUS!!!! Stryper.... Their number on their guitars was "777" as opposed to "666" lol.
It's not dead, it's just lukewarm like all of the other genres in the world at the moment: no new ideas from anyone, and when that happens people start questioning a genre's mortality.
