I always got the same feeling from him. Never met him, but for what it's worth, a few years ago on their Farewell Tour when the show ended, the rest of the band kinda just threw a wave and walked off stage, but Tom gave a little goodbye and thank you and kinda walked from end to end staring into the crowd almost teary eyed.
@@willgamer0849 he doesnt know shit. Made that up. Yes tom and jeff did cocaine for a bit in the 80s but quit after a night that almost could of cost them their lives.
My favorite thing about Slayer from this era was how much they fucking laughed man. Really just loved their lives. That's what kept them kicking so much ass. When you start taking yourself too seriously, you might find yourself wanting for some inspiration or something. I don't know exactly what it is.
Arg Etect I agree, not so much Kerry King though. he always struck me as kinda a prick that sees metal as a religion. I remember watching an interview with him and he was like "All I listen to is metal". I don't see how anyone can only listen to one genre of music.
I miss Jeff. He was the heart of Slayer. Kerry got all the publicity, but he was the biggest phony. Tom and Jeff were just two badass metal guys who were the real deal
@@eclipsed3407 kerry is a tight rhythm player come on, the guy is a douche when it comes to business, especially what he had an involvement in fucking over dave
I can't believe that Loudwire, of all channels, listed Tom Araya as one of the "Most Intimidating Musicians In Metal". He's about as intimidating as a teddy bear. 🙄 Anyway...SLAYER!!! 🤘🤘
He is intimidating when on stage, for sure. He probably just releases a lot of anger out there, on stage, so he is just being chill in real life. Who knows, if he never ended up in Slayer, maybe he would become, idk, some character from one of their songs ... :)
I’m the bassist from Sinister Witch. We taught Slayer how to hot knife on their Show No Mercy tour at Wellingtons Bar. Kevin, their roadie, thought it was the best invention ever 😆 When we saw Jeff the next year back in Winnipeg, he greeted us with “Hey, the hot knife guys!” No doubt Tom’s memory is a little off. The interview with Nard was 25 years after we opened for them, knives and all 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Really, damn. He says "No.", but his face says "Yes, but I'll never tell you. And how the hell do you know that?". No other reason why he would stop smiling at the simple/random mention of "Paris".
Tom Araya. Always happy and compliant in every interview. I love Tom. AAAAAND ive never heard Naarduar say pussy or any other 'dirty' shit. Hahahaha. Great interview!!!
F.Y.I.: To "hot knife" or "hot Knifing" is placing hashish between 2 knifes & heating it on an oven burner or above a candle flame. When it gets really hot it cooks the hashish & you inhale the thick smoky fumes to get high.
SavageBillahx2 I'm sure he has been to parties where kids were using the stuff.it comes in a bag, eh! Looks like a bag of wool , sometimes. As is my understanding
Tom is Chilean/American and there are native peoples down there. Also “chief” is not used among American natives unless you’re talking of one who leads a Sundance
I worked concert security near the pit at a Slayer show. Well, it was Judas Priest (about ten years ago) but Slayer played before Priest and as expected the audience went fucking wild.
Why does everybody think the guys in SLAYER are angry and hateful? The music they putout may sound angry and hateful... But the guys themselves do seem like easy going, lovable bros.
Does anyone else really want Nardwuar to interview a black metal band such as Mayhem or other metal bands that are impossible to interview by.....conventional....journalists?
Meanwhile in seasons in the abyss Slayer can be found hanging out(Pizza restaurant?). One man, one creature they did not see coming wearing a golfers cap gives them the interview of their lives...

@TheCoolestManchu Actually, he has...It's not on RU-vid, but on Nardwuar's site, there is a transcript of a 2-pt phone interview he did with Danzig in Dec.'99. Certainly worth checking out.
