Shout out to Cain's Ballroom, but its Tulsa not OKC!! I'm thinking Joshua and his "buddy" just did a couple of rails in the bathroom and he said "oh shit, it's Narduwar."
I like how in Josh's first interview with Nardwuar he tried to act like a rock star and a bit of a dick, but after understanding Nardwuar's schtick they have become almost kindred spirits.
JONASSOMFAN i don't see it that way. i think in the first interview Josh just didn't know how to process him since Nardwuar is so unique. Nardwuar is seriously my gauge for who's a dick and who's not.
@@LexTNeville I'm aware of those circumstances, but I'm still lost. What does Chester or that conspiracy theory have to do with my comment and your original reply?
hmm, I always wonder.. He always seems like a good bloke in interviews but people always call him a jerk cos of the kyuss lawsuit band member firings etc.. wonder what he's actually like
Screech891 I think the Kyuss lawsuit is a lot more complicated than the people who hate Josh want to believe. Of course I like QotSA and Josh, so I am biased in that respect. However, my defense to that he is actually is a good guy is that 1. He's constantly doing side projects and in other bands (TCV and EoDM), and the people he does em with don't need to do them with him yknow. They're rich as all ass, so why would they do side projects with him if he's an asshole? and 2. "When the cameras are rolling all the time, you forget they're there." The times I've seen him do "assholish" things were when he was either A) Drunk or B)Fighting a high fever. But who am I to say :P
TheColourCyan He just doesn't tolerate people fucking with him. As long as you're respectful to him, he's a great guy. But fuck with him and he sees red.
Screech891 I've learned recently that the reason behind all of the Kyuss lawsuits was that Josh wanted Kyuss to stay in the past in a way, as in, he feels it is already in its legacy, and saying that it is Kyuss is incorrect even if all 4 members got back and said the band was back together. Also, Garcia and Bjork tried to steal the name Kyuss (which Homme partially owns) while he was supporting them in their endeavours, which I can see would piss someone off. I hate to be that guy who uses a video game quote, but Garcia and Bjork were "[Offering] one hand, but [arming] the other."
Acctually Nardwuar did an interview with Paul Gallager, Liam & Noel's "not famous" brother, on his radio show years ago. The interview ended with Paul threatning to beat up Nardwuar "if i ever see you face to face...!" I think the interview might be posted on Nard's website.
Josh has come a long way from the very first one in 2003 where he was like WTF?!? Love how Josh just plays along now because he knows Nardwar will surprise the pants off him. He's like a little kid at Christmas when that happens too - so cute :).
"you know you walk in the footsteps of giants you seem really small" I see a ton of people hating on Josh Homme but I really fuckin like his music. He seems to know where he and his musical contributions stand and he just seems to be a really confident guy. And if you where in his shoes you would be too. Its not every day when Dave Grohl is breaking his fucking neck to be in your band... that speaks volumes as to how bad ass Queens really is.
What an amazing wit!! "Have you met some Barvarian Queens?" "Yeah, I've actually been in a bar with some variant of Queens!" Man, that's quick thinking >< (thumbs up if you love J.Ho)
You're right, Henry probably should. He is what he is though. Too smart, and not light-hearted enough for Nardwaur. Completely different personalities. Henry's episode was not one of the better ones to watch.
"The film Truckfighters (Fuzzomentary) by Joerg Steineck and Christian Maciejewski portrays the band's life. It was released in December 2011 and features interviews with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. The film provides an ironic, entertaining view of the three "ordinary" guys who transform into Fuzz Monsters onstage." - Truckfighters wiki page...some swedish "stoner rock" band....
