In a thoughtful and analytical interview, where he assesses the implications and consequences of the expanded BJP-led NDA alliance as well as the challenges facing the Opposition INDIA alliance and what it must do if it is to effectively challenge the BJP in the 2024 elections, Prof. Suhas Palshikar began by saying that the timing of the NDA alliance meeting was a case of “attention-seeking” and designed to create “confusion” by deflecting attention away from the INDIA alliance meeting which was scheduled for the same day. In his analysis, Prof. Palshikar called the expanded NDA “cosmetic” and argued that many of the smaller parties could be made use of and, even, after the 2024 elections, discarded by the BJP. He agreed they could be taken for a ride, adding that many of them don’t even realize that.

It was absurd to imagine that India who prided itself on its diversity, could revert to a Hindu Rashtra. Most minorities have left the nation over the years and it remains a shame that their contribution has been overlooked by the country. Incidentally, there has been an ongoing strategy to demean Christianity on here. It is seen as a devious force that is only concerned at converting Hindus.

Very insinghtful and constructive propositions by Prof Palishkar - the India Alliance should consider to practice as character & culture with genuine commitment to what they speak or give speeches...for example going and standing with victims of injustice & atrocities and if only the Opposition Alliance could have issued a statement about the tragic events of Manipur which outraged everyone. And that such actions will have a more telling effect than that of CM of WB taking as many CMs to Manipur to express voncern and solidarity. Professor Palshikar very rightly felt the brilliance and compassion required in our present politics. The quick rise of smaller player AAP with Kejriwal in the I.N.D.I.A. is perhaps best equipped to create such narratives and acts but with low penetration countrywide. Where INC is best equipped with its support base and our regional parties. The most important thing is now to mobilize maximum political intelligence to return India its true federal and democratic aspirations, else we lose everything of value to fascist forces forever.

Congress has to move miles vis a vis BJP in terms of strategy. At least learn from BJP and restrategise. It has to shed it's past and shed it's ego and work relentlessly on the ground. For example, in NE Congress has been in power for long. But how did they lose. They had taken everything for granted and didn't try to reach out to people and address their needs and concerns. BJP has been promoting itself as pro development party by their actions, not promise. Unless Congress is able to perform well where they are in power, for the people, they won't succeed.

Hahaha!!!The very formation of NDA was forgotten by many BJP Leaders including Modi,and there was not even a meeting of the constituent parties of NDA for the last 6 to 7 years.!! It was even talked that RSS had control of all these small and medium parties, and they were to be thrown out, once BJP and Modi feels that they themselves are capable of getting 350 odd seats,!!
