• Abū Hurayrah narrated: *❝Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ said: “When Allāh completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him above His Throne: ‘My Mercy overpowers My Anger.’”❞* عَنْ أبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، قالَ: «لَمّا خَلَقَ اللهُ الخَلْقَ، كَتَبَ فِي كِتابِهِ، فَهُوَ عِنْدَهُ فَوْقَ العَرْشِ: إنَّ رَحْمَتِي تَغْلِبُ غَضَبِي» 📚 (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2852, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3201) • Abū Hurayrah narrated: *❝‎Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ said: “If somebody gives in charity something equal to a date from his honestly earned money, and nothing ascends to Allāh except good, then Allāh will take it in His Right (Hand) and bring it up for its owner as anyone of you brings up a baby horse, till it becomes like a mountain. Nothing ascends to Allāh except good.”❞* أبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مَن تَصَدَّقَ بِعَدْلِ تَمْرَةٍ مِن كَسْبٍ طَيِّبٍ، ولاَ يَصْعَدُ إلى اللَّهِ إلّا الطَّيِّبُ، فَإنَّ اللَّهَ يَتَقَبَّلُها بِيَمِينِهِ، ثُمَّ يُرَبِّيها لِصاحِبِهِ، كَما يُرَبِّي أحَدُكُمْ فُلُوَّهُ، حَتّى تَكُونَ مِثْلَ الجَبَلِ» ورَواهُ ورْقاءُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسارٍ، عَنْ أبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ: «ولاَ يَصْعَدُ إلى اللَّهِ إلّا الطَّيِّبُ» 📚 (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 7426) • Abū Hurayrah narrated: *❝The Prophet ﷺ said: “Angels keep on descending from and ascending to the Heaven in turn, some at night and some by daytime, and all of them assemble together at the time of the Fajr and ʿAṣr prayers. Then those who have stayed with you over-night, ascend up towards him (Allāh) Who asks them, and He knows the answer better than they: ‘How have you left My slaves?’ They reply: ‘We have left them praying as we found them praying.’”❞* أبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قالَ: قالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: «المَلاَئِكَةُ يَتَعاقَبُونَ مَلاَئِكَةٌ بِاللَّيْلِ، ومَلاَئِكَةٌ بِالنَّهارِ، ويَجْتَمِعُونَ فِي صَلاَةِ الفَجْرِ، وصَلاَةِ العَصْرِ، ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إلَيْهِ الَّذِينَ باتُوا فِيكُمْ، فَيَسْألُهُمْ وهُوَ أعْلَمُ، فَيَقُولُ: كَيْفَ تَرَكْتُمْ عِبادِي، فَيَقُولُونَ: تَرَكْناهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ، وأتَيْناهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ» 📚 (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 7425) • Abū Mūsā al-Ashʾarī reported: *❝The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was standing amongst us and he told us five things. He said: “Verily the Exalted and Mighty God does not sleep, and it does not befit Him to sleep. He lowers the scale and lifts it. The deeds in the night are taken up to Him before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day before the deeds of the night. His veil is the light. If he were to remove it (the veil), the splendour of His face would consume His creation so far as His sight reaches.”❞* أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِخَمْسِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لاَ يَنَامُ وَلاَ يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ يَخْفِضُ الْقِسْطَ وَيَرْفَعُهُ يُرْفَعُ إِلَيْهِ عَمَلُ اللَّيْلِ قَبْلَ عَمَلِ النَّهَارِ وَعَمَلُ النَّهَارِ قَبْلَ عَمَلِ اللَّيْلِ حِجَابُهُ النُّورُ لَوْ كَشَفَهُ لأَحْرَقَتْ سُبُحَاتُ وَجْهِهِ مَا انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِ بَصَرُهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ 📚 (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 170) • ʿĀmir Ibn Saʾd narrated from his father that: *❝Saʾd passed a judgement concerning the Banū Qurayẓah, that every one upon whom Mūsā’s image fell (i.e. the Jews) should be killed, and their children should be taken as captives, and their wealth should be distributed. This was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: “You passed judgement upon them with the judgement of Allāh, who passed judgement above the seven heavens.”❞* عامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أبِيهِ، أنَّ سَعْدًا، حَكَمَ عَلى بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ أنْ يُقْتَلَ مِنهُمْ كُلُّ مَن جَرَتْ عَلَيْهِ المُوسى، وأنْ تُسْبى ذَرارِيُّهُمْ، وأنْ تُقْسَمَ أمْوالُهُمْ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقالَ: «حَكَمْتَ فِيهِمْ بِحُكْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي حَكَمَ بِهِ فَوْقَ سَبْعِ سَمَواتٍ» 📚 (Sunan al-Kubrā 6117 by al-Nasāʾī) • ʿAbbās Ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib narrated: *❝The Prophet ﷺ said: “Do you know the distance between Heaven and Earth? They (the Saḥābah) replied: “We do not know.” He then said: “The distance between them is seventy-one, seventy-two, or seventy-three years. The heaven which is above it is at a similar distance (going on till he counted seven heavens). Above the seventh heaven there is a sea, the distance between whose surface and bottom is like that between one heaven and the next. Above that there are eight mountain goats whose hoofs and haunches are like the distance between one heaven and the next. Then Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, is above that.”❞* «هَلْ تَدْرُونَ ما بُعْدُ ما بَيْنَ السَّماءِ والأرْضِ؟» قالُوا: لا نَدْرِي، قالَ: «إنَّ بُعْدَ ما بَيْنَهُما إمّا واحِدَةٌ أوِ اثْنَتانِ أوْ ثَلاثٌ وسَبْعُونَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ السَّماءُ فَوْقَها كَذَلِكَ» حَتّى عَدَّ سَبْعَ سَماواتٍ «ثُمَّ فَوْقَ السّابِعَةِ بَحْرٌ بَيْنَ أسْفَلِهِ وأعْلاهُ مِثْلُ ما بَيْنَ سَماءٍ إلى سَماءٍ، ثُمَّ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ ثَمانِيَةُ أوْعالٍ بَيْنَ أظْلافِهِمْ ورُكَبِهِمْ مِثْلُ ما بَيْنَ سَماءٍ إلى سَماءٍ، ثُمَّ عَلى ظُهُورِهِمُ العَرْشُ ما بَيْنَ أسْفَلِهِ وأعْلاهُ مِثْلُ ما بَيْنَ سَماءٍ إلى سَماءٍ، ثُمَّ اللَّهُ تَبارَكَ وتَعالى فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ» 📚 (Sunan Abī Dāwud 4642, Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3630) • Jābir Ibn ʿAbdullāh narrated: *❝They (the audience) said: “We will bear witness that you have conveyed [the message], discharged and given wise counsel.” He (the Prophet ﷺ) then raised his forefinger towards the sky and pointing it at the people (said): “O Allāh, bear witness. O Allāh, bear witness”, saying it thrice.❞* قالُوا: نَشْهَدُ أنَّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ وأدَّيْتَ ونَصَحْتَ، فَقالَ: بِإصْبَعِهِ السَّبّابَةِ، يَرْفَعُها إلى السَّماءِ ويَنْكُتُها إلى النّاسِ «اللهُمَّ، اشْهَدْ، اللهُمَّ، اشْهَدْ» ثَلاثَ مَرّاتٍ 📚 (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1231) • Jābir Ibn ʿAbdullāh narrated: *❝The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “While the people of paradise are enjoying their blessings, a light will shine upon them, and they will raise their heads, and they will see their Lord looking upon them from above. He will say: ‘Peace be upon you, O people of paradise.’ This is what Allāh says in the ayah: {Salām - a Word from the Lord (Allah), The Most Merciful}. He will look at them, and they will look at Him, and they will not pay any attention to the delights [of paradise] so long as they look at Him, until He will screen Himself from them. But His light and blessing will remain with them in their bodies.”❞* جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏بَيْنَا أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فِي نَعِيمِهِمْ إِذْ سَطَعَ لَهُمْ نُورٌ فَرَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ فَإِذَا الرَّبُّ قَدْ أَشْرَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ ‏{سَلاَمٌ قَوْلاً مِنْ رَبٍّ رَحِيمٍ}‏ قَالَ فَيَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَيَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَلاَ يَلْتَفِتُونَ إِلَى شَىْءٍ مِنَ النَّعِيمِ مَا دَامُوا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَحْتَجِبَ عَنْهُمْ وَيَبْقَى نُورُهُ وَبَرَكَتُهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي دِيَارِهِمْ 📚 (Sunan Ibn Mājah 183)

• Muḥammad Ibn Jubayr Ibn Muṭʾim said from his father on the authority of his grandfather: *❝The Prophet ﷺ said: “A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and said: ‘O Messenger of Allāh, our souls are tired, our families are lost, our wealth is depleted, and our livestock have perished. So, ask Allāh for rain for us, for we seek intercession with you before Allāh, and we seek intercession with Allāh through you.’ The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: ‘Woe to you! Do you know what you are saying?’ Then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ glorified Allāh, and he continued to do so until it was recognized in the faces of his companions. Then he said: ‘Woe to you! No one should seek intercession with Allāh for anyone from His creation; the affairs of Allah are greater than that. Woe to you! Do you know who Allāh is? Indeed, His Throne is above His heavens like this’, and he gestured with his fingers resembling a dome over him, ‘and indeed, He creaks it as one would creak a saddle with a rider.’”* أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَعْرَابِيٌّ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، جُهِدَتِ الْأَنْفُسُ، وَضَاعَتِ الْعِيَالُ، وَنُهِكَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ، وَهَلَكَتْ الْأَنْعَامُ، فَاسْتَسْقِ اللَّهَ لَنَا فَإِنَّا نَسْتَشْفِعُ بِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَنَسْتَشْفِعُ بِاللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «وَيْحَكَ أَتَدْرِي مَا تَقُولُ؟» وَسَبَّحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ، فَمَا زَالَ يُسَبِّحُ حَتَّى عُرِفَ ذَلِكَ فِي وُجُوهِ أَصْحَابِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «وَيْحَكَ إِنَّهُ لَا يُسْتَشْفَعُ بِاللَّهِ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ، شَأْنُ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَيْحَكَ أَتَدْرِي مَا اللَّهُ، إِنَّ عَرْشَهُ عَلَى سَمَاوَاتِهِ لَهَكَذَا» وَقَالَ بِأَصَابِعِهِ مِثْلَ الْقُبَّةِ عَلَيْهِ «وَإِنَّهُ لَيَئِطُّ بِهِ أَطِيطَ الرَّحْلِ بِالرَّاكِبِ» *Ibn Bashār said in his narration: “Indeed, Allāh is above His Throne, and His Throne is above His heavens.” This ḥadīth was transmitted by Aḥmad Ibn Saʾīd with a sound chain of transmission, and a group of scholars agreed with him, including Yaḥyā Ibn Maʾīn and ʿAlī Ibn al-Madīnī. It was narrated by a group from Ibn Isḥāq, as Aḥmad also mentioned. Moreover, the hearing of ʿAbd al-Aʾlā, Ibn al-Muthannā, and Ibn Bashār came from a single manuscript to the best of my knowledge.”❞* قَالَ ابْنُ بَشَّارٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَوْقَ عَرْشِهِ، وَعَرْشُهُ فَوْقَ سَمَاوَاتِهِ» وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى: وَابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، وَجُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَالْحَدِيثُ بِإِسْنَادِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ هُوَ الصَّحِيحُ وَافَقَهُ عَلَيْهِ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْهُمْ يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، وَرَوَاهُ جَمَاعَةٌ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، كَمَا قَالَ أَحْمَدُ، أَيْضًا وَكَانَ سَمَاعُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، وَابْنِ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنِ بَشَّارٍ مِنْ نُسْخَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ فِيمَا بَلَغَنِي 📚 (Sunan Abī Dāwud 4625) • Abū Razīn narrated: *❝I said: “O Messenger of Allāh, where was our Lord before He created His creation?” He said: “He was above the clouds, below which was air, and above which was air and water. He was from a group of the angels called the Jinn, so named because they are hidden, and they were assigned as the keepers of Paradise. Iblīs, with his dominion, was also a treasurer. However, arrogance developed in his heart, and he said: ‘Allāh has only given me this for a specific advantage.’”❞* حَدَّثَنِي بِهِ، مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، فِي خَبَرٍ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، وَعَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، وَعَنْ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَعَنْ نَاسٍ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ: «لَمَّا فَرَغَ اللَّهُ مِنْ خَلْقِ مَا أَحَبَّ، اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ فَجَعَلَ إِبْلِيسُ عَلَى مُلْكِ سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا، وَكَانَ مِنْ قَبِيلَةٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمُ الْجِنُّ؛ وَإِنَّمَا سُمُّوا الْجِنَّ لِأَنَّهُمْ خُزَّانُ الْجَنَّةِ.

• Abū Juray Jābir narrated: *❝I travelled to seek knowledge, and when I came to Makkah for this purpose, I found the Prophet ﷺ sitting. I greeted him, saying: “Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allāh,” and he responded: “And upon you.” I said: “We, the people of the Bedouin, are rough. Teach me something that Allāh will benefit me with.” He said: “Fear Allāh, and do not belittle any act of goodness, even if it is as little as giving half a date. Beware of extravagance in clothes, as it is a form of arrogance, and Allāh does not like arrogance.” A man asked: “O Messenger of Allāh, you mentioned avoiding extravagance in clothes. What if there is an injury or something shameful on the leg of a person?” The Prophet replied: “No harm in wearing the garment halfway down the shin or to the ankles. A man from those before you wore a Burdah (a garment) and arrogantly trailed it behind him. Allāh looked at him from above His Throne and disapproved of him. He ordered the earth, and it swallowed him up. فَقَالَ: «لَا بَأْسَ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ، أَوْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ، إِنَّ رَجُلًا مِمَّنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ لَبِسَ بُرْدَةً فَتَبَخْتَرَ فِيهَا، فَنَظَرَ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ فَوْقِ عَرْشِهِ، فَمَقَتَهُ، فَأَمَرَ الْأَرْضَ فَأَخَذْتُهُ، فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ بَيْنَ الْأَرْضِ، فَاحْذَرُوا مَقْتَ اللهِ» 📚 (Muʾjam al-Ṭabarānī al-Kabīr 6384) • ʿAbdullāh Ibn Masʾūd narrated: *❝Oh Messenger of Allāh, why did you smile and raise your head towards the sky? A translation of the chapter on al-Istiwa from Fahmul-Qur'an by al-Harith al-Muhasibi would be interesting.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Brother you seem to have made a mistake. Sunan Ibn Majah 181 does not speak about where allah was before creation rather 182 does. حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ حُدُسٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيْنَ كَانَ رَبُّنَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ خَلْقَهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ كَانَ فِي عَمَاءٍ مَا تَحْتَهُ هَوَاءٌ وَمَا فَوْقَهُ هَوَاءٌ ثُمَّ خَلَقَ الْعَرْشَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ Waki' bin Hudus narrated that his paternal uncle Abu Razin said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, where was our Lord before He created His creation?' He said: He was above the clouds, below which was air, and above which was air and water. Then He created His Throne above the water.'" Sunan Ibn Majah 182 sunnah.com/ibnmajah:182

السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ ورَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وبَرَكاتُهُ I used the print of Dār al-Taʾṣīl which does indeed have that narration at number 181, so my numbering was correct. I posted a screenshot of the scan which you see on my twitter thread here: x.com/ibmsulaymani/status/1802792277812896073 Although there was an editing mistake at 5:02 where I showed the wrong scan for the narration, which I mentioned in the description.
