If you are a blaster and require help please drop me a message on here. Please don't email or call asking for advice on how to set up or operate your Rig. I need to prioritise my free time doing work calls, emails and quote enquiries. I will always try to respond to comments on my videos :)

@Chr.U.Cas2216 a simple on off switch would work but far from safe the idea is that if you drop the pipe it cuts off 😄 that's the main reason I didn't fit 1 well to be honest I did fit 1 but it filled with dust and stopped working 🫣

@@Mobileblaster Thanks for replying, I appreciate this. 2) No doubt that a simply on/off switch would definitely have worked better than always have to cobble together 2 wires (and even show this in public)! Way too many utubers forget that they are in public and therefore have a responsibility. Lots of them are even seen as role models respectively their behaviour (even if wrong) is copied.

Hello. What is better grit blasting or dry ice blasting? I suppose it will depend on the circumstances? Related to this kind of work I've seen water cutting through concrete, the compressor had a lorry engine to force water through a pin sized hole on the gun. And the two guys operating it were the only two in the UK certified to operate such an amazing piece of machinery this was in the early eighties though, they said it could cut a man in halve with ease, the gun did look like a German machine gun though. Amazing what this line of work offers, good alternative career change I'd think 🤔👍 *For the video!*
@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster Год назад
I don't believe dry ice has a massive work load or advantages over a standard pot yes it has a slot in the cleaning sector nut very limited as a soda blaster would work out a heck of a lot cheaper to buy and operate. Dry ice is good if its a very light clean that requires 0 media waste like cleaning food grade stuff in a factory that cannot be shut down but what's the chances of that job calling? In every other aspect a blaster can out perform and under cut a dry ice blaster. I've seen the vhp water jetters in action same again very nich line of work they do but invaluable to the right sector
@mazevx2451
@mazevx2451 11 месяцев назад
If I'm allowed to say... dry ice is popular for deep cleaning purposes with cars and such, removing old layers of chassis protection, dried dirt, and grime, as well as cleaning of engines and engines internals and a few other low impact cases.
@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster 11 месяцев назад
@mazevx2451 yeah very limited work load. I could say chemicals and steam would do that also soda would do the stubborn stuff I can only think of 1 task a blaster chemicals or steam wouldn't do is cleaning food grade factory's cleaning this would shine but again very limited work load out of all the years I've been operating I've only had 1 enquirie for this

@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster Год назад
The base plate is a separate job and not many people like the extra costs when they are built the sides tend to be 6mm and the base 10mm also if the steel isn't bobbing about in water mixing with oxygen it tends to last longer between service intervals than the sides 👍

It used to be a #5 nozzle was 5/16" orifice which was 127 c.f.m. at 100 p.s.i., a #6 nozzle was 3/8" orifice which was 196 c.f.m. at 100 p.s.i., a #7 nozzle was 7/16 orifce which was 277 c.f.m at 100 p.s.i., a #8 nozzle was 338 c.f.m. at 100 p.s.i. This is air consumption for the nozzle only. any other air usage such as air fed hood, cool tube, vent at filters, etc ... had to added on top of nozzle usage. any wear on the orifice of the nozzle could upsize the demand.

5:50 You need more abrasive. I can tell by the blueish look of the air stream and slow production.

The blue ish tint is water vapour. Going on that info the media would have been made damp coursing clogs or a choke in the flow of media. I've since fitted a cooler and more water traps I don't have this issue anymore 👍

We always leave the compressor doors open to keep it cool

Doosan operations manual says keep all doors closed as it grabs air and pulls it over and through vital areas like the after cooler also they use the doors a sound control 👍

No gloves, no dust collection or water injection to kill the dust. Get the levels of lead in your blood checked, and any young children near by.

Well spotted I once had a bad reaction to gloves and it coursed me to slip as they got snagged so I much prefer the control without them I'm not saying it's the right thing to do but I feel more confident and in control without than with gloves. The dust is been collected... and I don't think there are any young children in a working boat yard that would be very irresponsible of the adult in care but what is responsible that all checks were taken before work commencing that lead wasn't present and recycled approved products were used 👍 As mentioned I do check for lead but hear in England lead has been banned since the 60s in production of paints so ive yet to find a 10 year old narrow boat to have such products onit also sillica has been banned since the 60s for use in free dry blasting. I definitely wouldn't advise been inside the Dock when blasting is getting done but it's none carcinogenic or toxic to the environment. Have you any more queries I may be able to help with?
