Great job, next time you do a loading shovel make sure the customer supports the arms. It's not safe, if a pipe fails the arms and bucket will drop on you!
@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster 3 года назад
Yeah I'm aware of that the bucket was on the ground taking the weight I know its no substitute for a stand but 3 rams would have to fail for it to move? I believe they have check valves and run on separate plumbing I could be wrong but I feel much safer with the bucket on the ground than in the air 😂 I would feel better with a ram lock in place haha

Water on a job like this isn't a good idea. I have the ability to add water on this pot but every internal corner I get slurry all over me and the visor then at the end of the job it needs washing down to get the slurry off and it takes a very long time to get it all off plus the chemical that's needed to add to the water isn't cheap all this makes it not worth using 👍💞

What is the discoloration left in spots after you have blasted? Those dark spots? Isn't that corrosion of some sort that is embedded deeper into the metal? I'm just wondering if a courser media should be used to go deeper into the metal to take that out?
@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster 2 года назад
Yes your right you could spend extra money and time on a slightly heavier grit then run the risk of damage to other stuff that dony need the grit in or on. At the start I explain what this company was after and all they want from me is to make the serface free from loose materials and etched for paint. They don't require me to get SA3 standards. I could do it but then the costs would make this job not feasible. This serface is totally fine to paint over as this was over 12 months ago and that's the warranty period without any issues. If a good primer is used it will eat into any remaining blooms on the metal and neutralise it.

Please let me explain :) Ive done a lot of work for this company and they know what to expect the job sheet was hit as much area as possible the notes was its going back out on hire and just needs to look good as it roles off the low loader. Area was more important then digging the rust out this was a lot of area in the time that was allocated and only real way to save on time was to give a light blast still perfect for paint and a lot better than rubbing it down by hand in the same time frame :) the customer knows what to expect for his money all this is explained before hand plus its a repeat customer for the past 10 year or so. I know what to deliver and in the time frame he asks for. I can certainly strip every part and blast it to a inch of its lift and rebuild with brand new pipes etc but the man hours and costs involved would out price this unit. knowing what to deliver at what costs is key in this business. Did we really need to see the sandblast in real time? What we need to see is the prep work bf painting and what was used to combat future rust. This would have made this video 100% more useful and much shorter in length!

Please see some of my newer videos I'm starting to get the hang of it well kind of haha unfortunately I don't get involved with the painting stage very often. No more work is required to prevent rust other than painting. These early videos I was finding out what works as in time speed etc. As the very 1st videos people was asking for longer without editing thx for your feedback 💞

Ideally the company that your doing this for should prime the surface straight away,stupid to leave it even a few hours, hard graft doing your job you earn every penny people don’t realize what a horrible job to do this is.💪💪💪

Your entitled to your opinion but my customer was more than happy. If you watch all the video I explain this. As all he wanted was the scabs knocking back no steel profiling just run over it. If you new what the customer had planned for this loading shovel you would say its too good so please refer to slating someone's work like this before knowing the outcome and all the factors involved. Yes I could have spent a full day on the bucket alone and made it 100% split mint but the price wasn't in the job to do this. Hope this clears things up 👍 Regards Mick

Just watched the video again what bit is poorly executed? Could you time stamp it please and I will explain what was going off or what was required because if I could get workers to do this amount of work in time allocated I would be quids in 😂👍some areas I have to leave due to knowing what will happen if I keep at a certain area or like the bucket the 1st time it's used will pull the paint off anyways so pointless wasting time effort or gear when I could spend the time doing something that would be more beneficial to the customer 👍
