NaruHina Canon is Trash | A Timestamped Analysis 

In Boruto, Hinata is not even a character, which is awful. SP dropped her. They propped her up for years, but as soon as she got with Naruto and had his children, they had no idea what to do with her.

naruhina didn't even have a dynamic people confused naruto's gestures of kindness for something romantic being naruto never showed jealousy or much less interest in her the only time he blushed was when she praised his ability to not give up on anything

when hinata almost dies twice to tell naruto she likes him and he still tells his dad sakura is his girlfriend..... that shows how naruto sees hinata. we couldve had hinata moving on and the og idea of sakura realizing through hanging out with/fighting with naruto that she likes him back. personally i wouldve liked naruto to stay single and just be that cool hokage uncle to all his friends kids but thats just how i though it would be if sakura never liked him back.

Honestly most of the Naruto canon ships are shit. The only ship I care about is Shikamaru x Temari. The horrible ships make watching Boruto absolutely insufferable. I really don’t know which one I hate more NaruHina or SasuSaku.

The Ino and Sai pairing is also poorly written and poorly executed. When they meet, Ino is only interested in him because according to her he looked like Sasuke and Sai only calls her "pretty". thinking that she really is ugly to prevent her from hitting him like Sakura... That was all for them to end up together in the end as seen in chapter 700 of the manga. There are people who defend this couple because in Boruto they are seen to be happy together and in the Shikamaru Hidden novel they show you how Sai corresponds to Ino BUT it is still forced because following the original manga there was ZERO chemistry between Sai and Ino. Not to mention the fact that Ino was still interested in Sasuke in the ninja war (which made no sense because the series never developed a link between the 2 characters, Sasuke never spoke to Ino and Ino never saw Sasuke again until the war... but that's a separate issue) shows that Sai was a replacement. I love Naruto but the Romance and the female caracthers are relly BAD written.😫

I can make this simple The Naruto manga has 13,728 pages total from the beginning to the end of Gaiden. Yes, I counted. In those pages, Naruto and Hinata interacted exactly 37 pages. Arguably 7 of those pages were shoehorned in to tie in with that stupid movie. That is exactly 0.02% of the manga. The movie sums it up Sakura: "Hey Naruto, maybe you should walk Hinata home." Naruto: "Why?"

Its just so funny to me that they made sakura and hinata best friends in the last ??? Like they barely interacted ☠☠ and making sakura out of all people give LOVE ADVICES to hinata 🤦🏽 I really dont think she's the one who should've been the matchmaker when kurenai is just there I mean atleast she had experience with love and was ACTUALLY close to hinata ! Or if they went the narusaku route they could've made ino and sai the matchmakers because they're actually close to the main interested and it would pave a path for inosai

My problem with NaruHina is this: 1. It was poorly written to the point it feels like it only happened because the fans wanted it to happen. 2. Hinata’s main motivation and her as a character became about Naruto. 3. It takes them an entire fucking movie to even get together despite her confessing her love for him during the Pein arc. 4. Neji was killed off for this ship. 5. Hinata became a damn housewife. 6. Hinata has so much wasted potential where they never acknowledged the way her father treated her, never had her help to fix her clans problems with Neji, never became clan head. Nada. Zero. 7. They didn’t make Hinata standout more. This girl created TWO original jutsus and we rarely saw either of them. Hell one of them was in a damn filler episode and that’s it.

Studio Pierrot showed favoritism of hinata and they abused their power to make hinata important. It’s the same dumb logic as goku and chi chi.

I grew up with Naruto, watching it subbed as a pre-teen waaaay back in 2003... but yeah NaruHina felt so forced.

I always thought Naruto should have ended with either Sakura or Sasuke And I never even watched the show, and I know naruhina and sasusaku makes zero sense I hope boku no hero don't make the same mistake. Just don't make canon couples, romance in those Shonen stories shouldn't even exist

I like this ship but its true. It lacks development. It really looks forced. It just doesn't make me furious like Sasusaku since they never tried to kill each other.

All my guy friends were pro naruhina , and after the ending of Naruto part 2 , they gave me a poor explanation as to why these pairings HAD to happen. One of them still does. I have felt bitter and alone in my opinion all this time, so thank you for making this video

To me kishimoto is really Bad at handling romance and he’s not good at writing female characters.

For the Boruto anime, the writers turned Hinata into “Kushina 2.0” being an angry mom which doesn’t match her personality. For Sakura, Temari, Karui and Ino, they make more sense since they are angrier in nature than Hinata who is always a wallflower.

Hot take I’ve always had: But I think Hinata should have died during the war arc instead of Neji. It would’ve been more thematically appropriate, a great shock moment, and Neji could’ve fixed the goddamn Hyuuga clan.

The "It's a shonen" excuse most people bring up is such a lazy excuse. Both Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Inuyasha were also shonen but Edward/Winry and Inuyasha/Kagome were better developed in a shorter overall runtime than NaruHina ever was in 700+ chapters/episodes. What gets me about this pairing is that it's sooooo easy to fix. Just have them talk after Hinata's sacrifice during the Pain arc and have Hinata slowly grow more confident from there, that's it. Maybe have her finally standing up to her abusive father, maybe even have her finally embrace her role as the Hyuuga heir with Neji's support and some sisterly bonding with Hanabi. Just something other than chasing after Naruto for once! It would have been a great way to develop Hinata as a character because she has no reason to act like the stereotypical shy girl at that point in the series. She just stood up to the strongest villain they ever faced at the time! There's literally no reason for her to go back to being a doormat post Pain. It's like whenever her character looks like it's finally taking a step forward, it takes a few steps back and I just can't help but feel disappointed in her wasted potential. There was a filler episode that was about Hinata and Hanabi and it actually brought up a pretty interesting topic. The conflict was that Hinata was struggling to balance having to train being the heir while also trying to be a loving older sister to Hanabi. It was the reason why Hanabi kinda looked down on her for a little while. Why Kishimoto didn't capitalise on this, I don't know. But hey, he was fine taking some filler elements like the Seven Ninja Swordsmen characters that nobody remembers but he still made canon in the manga though! Lol With that said, you could also have Naruto notice her for it and maybe start to feel something for her seeing this new side to her that we would eventually see in Boruto instead of making him go back to Sakura over and over and putting him in that very insulting genjutsu guilt trip in the Last. Like in theory, it's a good pairing, I can totally see the appeal and their personalities contrast each other in the right ways that they could actually work off each other well enough. But like Hinata herself, the pairing is just wasted potential written by an author who actively refused to take advantage all of the tools he was given. It really had the makings of a great pairing and it just sucks it was wasted that even his own wife called him out on. That's when you know he royally messed up with this pairing despite what the obsessive fanboys say, lol The problem really is that Kishimoto prioritised trolling to get more views (that's literally the reason why he kept teasing with that ham-fisted love square, he admitted to it) instead of actually working on it and with SasuSaku..... yeah that was just dead on arrival, xD

For me, Hinata is the living embodiment of Japan’s flavor of sexism. A culture and society where women are expected to be nothing more than submissive and subservient accessories for the men in their lives. While Hinata was a child, all she wanted was to be in love with Naruto and support him; because god forbid she had any of her own dreams or desires. When she becomes an adult, her career as a shinobi is effectively over as she’s nothing but a domestic housewife who looks after her husband's children while he has the freedom to actually have a life. Because that’s all women are good for, they’re just objects of affection for men to obtain and once that is done all they’re good for is looking after the kids. They, and Hinata by extension, will never challenge their husbands and only exist to satisfy and please them when they are needed & when they are not needed, they are expected to step aside and do nothing as the men in their lives take action and make all the real decisions. Obviously, western civilization’s track record with feminism isn’t much better, but Hinata is proof that we don’t possess a monopoly over gender inequality. I honestly believe this is why Hinata was so popular with studio Pierrot and the male-targeted demographic of Shonen Jump. A shy and timid girl who inexplicably devoted her whole life to loving you with little to no explanation grows up and is still obsessed with you. Add in her new “attractive” character design and gee, I wonder why she was so popular. Also, just to be clear, I’m not saying that’s the only reason to like Hinata, you can like her for any reason. But let’s be honest, that’s the main reason most guys liked her and that’s definitely the reason studio Pierrot loved her. In contrast, Sakura was the girl who dumped us, who defied us because she was into the cool dark popular guy and how dare she not reciprocate our feelings. Obviously, it’s more complicated than that, and Kishimoto did her no favors as the story progressed, but that’s one of the real reasons why Sakura was so hated back in the day. She rejected Naruto, which meant she rejected us (and by us, I’m mostly referring to the male-targeted demographic of Shonen Jump) and we rejected her so we could be with the girl who was given no reason to exist other than being in love with us. It’s because of stuff that I just can’t go back and enjoy Naruto anymore. The adventure of a kid in the Ninja world and trying to change it for the better just bogged down in so much BS, not just the romance, and in the end, it was painfully clear that Kishimoto just stopped caring about his own story at some point. He used Kaguya to get rid of Madara and Obito. Naruto didn’t really change or save the Ninja world and just reinforced the shinobi status quo. In the end, he took a romance that he, Oda, and his own wife said was based on their real-life relationship and threw it all away.

Love how Kushina’s dying wish was for Naruto to marry someone like her, which absolutely was Sakura ( someone kishimoto has even gone out and stated was based off of his wife ) But instead the editors pushed for the switch last minute to satisfy the popular ship whilst simultaneously pairing Sakura up with someone that literally tried to fucking murder her in cold blood twice

The whole thing is so messed up in many ways, and I'm going to explain what bothers me about Hinata, her stans and NaruHina ship. 1.) Hinata - This is personalized. I just can't like her. I tried to give her a chance and understand her, and I do feel sorry cause she was being abounded as a child in her clan, but that's it. People like to say she was always there for Naruto, but my question is where? If she cared that much, why didn't she approached to Naruto and became his friend. We all know Naruto was always seen as "monster" because of nine tails he had inside him, and that was why he had no friends in the beginning. I've seen people say things like; "She saved him from loneliness," but my question is where? She just stalked him and talked when it was necessary. 2.) Chunin exams - Okay, she tried to fight Neji, who she was afraid of. Cool, but what about supporting your teammate? People like to shit on Sakura for being "bad," but that girl cheered for Naruto and showed her support all the way. Hinata literally said; "I'd cheer for you Naruto, but I can't because of Kiba". I can understand where she comes from, but I still think that's sad because Hinata, Kiba and Shino are team and should've support each other and cheer during exam. I didn't see Hinata cheer for Kiba or Shino. That's just unfair and it just proves that you are a bad teammate. Update: I forgot to mention that she gave a healing cream to Naruto, who was doing fine but in background you can see Kiba being hurt and all. It's just rude and unfair. 3.) I'm disgusted that people like to bodyshame Sakura for being flat (as if it's bad thing) and people only like Hinata because of her big curves and her shy, kawaii personality. Of course not everyone likes Hinata for her breast size, but most people do. You can see any post related to Hinata's looks, and you'll see people say; "Better than flat Trashcan". 4.) People like to say how Sakura is useless because she "doesn't do anything". I agree that in the beginning she didn't do much, but during chunin exam arc, she cut her own hair which represents huge shift for her cause she decided to train to become stronger so she can protect those dear to her. She was trained by Tsunade, one of the best medical ninja's. If you watched Naruto, you know rules for medical ninjas; you don't go on fronts to fight because you are supposed to be the last person who dies because you heal for God's sake. I'm sure Sakura would go out and help Naruto and other fight if she wasn't medical ninja, but since she was, she couldn't. Hinata just decided to randomly jump in order to protect Nartuo, but no one thinks what consequences her actions could have. It could bring everyone present there in even more danger than they already were. Hinata could die there among with Naruto and others, so her sacrifice wasn't something "too powerful" in my opinion. 5.) Naruto and Hinata just don't make sense. I admit that I'm a huge Sakura stan and huge NaruSaku shipper, so my opinion can be more biased, but I can't believe that Naruto ended with Hinata. They barely interacted in all those 700 episodes just for you to get caught in some silly genjutsu and fall in love. It's unrealistic, especially since you loved Sakura for so long and Sakura slowly but surely started developing feelings for Naruto and plus Kishimoto's teasing us with the possible Canon ship. Next thing, Kushina told Naruto to find somebody like her and we all know Sakura is the only girl that fits that kind of standard (hot headed, short temper, anger issues,...) and plus again, Kishimoto doing so many references on compatibility of those two. Next, when you look aestheticly at Naruto and Hinata, she just doesn't fit. Naruto has more brighter colors and is loud, clumsy, goofy while Hinata is completely opposite; shy, dark colors and so on. You might think the opposite is attracting, but it's not always like that. Sakura, on the other hand is more like Naruto. When you look at them, especially in Shippuden, you can see how much close they got to each other and they are being goofy to each other and you can see appreciation for each other's. "But Sakura was always in love with Sasuke and lied to Naruto about her feelings". Okay, she had crush, but who can't guarantee that she didn't fell in love with Naruto later. Check out Chatte Georgiana's video "Why NaruSaku didn't happen" on this topic. She made amazing points about this. Sakura's approach to this might be controversial, but it was definitely coming from place of love. She didn't want Naruto to suffer physically and emotionally anymore in searching for Sasuke and she decided to be "hated" by Naruto rather than put him through pain even more. 6.) Neji's death. Neji is my number one favorite male character in Naruto and seeing him die didn't only break my heart, but it also didn't make sense, especially since he could dodge sticks with his rotation technique, but they had to kill him in order for Naruto and Hinata to get closer which is bullshit. Not to mention that Hinata was left as the only heir of Hyuga clan (Hanabi was too little to take such responsibility) and once she got married to Naruto, she basically abounded her clan. She didn't even tried to fix rules for branch and main side of clan and make it better. We all know Neji was always viewed as "less worth" just because of being part of branch side of Hyuga clan and a curse mark on his forehead. When you think about it, that might bring harm to future Hyuga generation who are part of branch side, so it just proves Hinata's carelessness about safety of her clan. Update: I forgot to mention how Hinata was thinking about Naruto's big, warm hand meanwhile your cousin died right in front of your eyes. It's so sad and disgusting. I know this is really long comment and if you read it all congratulations. I just want to say that regardless of whether you are NaruHina or NaruSaku shipper, you have to admit that the way Naruto and Hinata got together didn't make sense.

like, when I found out about NaruHina and SasuSaku is real I was so shocked I didn't even want to watch boruto. like I do like Naruto but the ship with Hina confused me. she didn't even exist to him. like even the side character has more presence then her. while Sasuke and Sakura, assume hated her. Longtime Naruto fan here I remember being a tiny boy on the playground talking to my friends about the debut episode of Naruto and I never stopped loving the series ever since... until Kaguya I guess. The Neji dying thing is something I'm pretty mixed on. I really don't like it as a a forced scene for the sake of the NaruHina relationship. It was already a heartbreaking moment with feelings I still process, but the suggestion it's just for Hinata's socially disabled ass makes me sick. Neji giving his life for the young man who taught him that fate is bendable was so perfect for me. It's no longer that when it's about Hinata.

The way their marriage was at the edge of divorce in Naruto Retsuden (I believe) too😭

I like Naruto/Hinata from a concept perspective, though that’s mostly for part 1. It could work if built upon properly and having them interact and improve their relationship gradually. I think a lot of the issues with Hinata are from the lack of time being in the story. Aside from her crush on Naruto and her status in her clan, the dynamics of her relationship with her father and Neji, we really don’t know who Hinata is or what her goals and desires are. There’s so many directions they could have went with Hinata because she was virtually a blank canvas and what we ended up getting was (at least in my opinion) a doll whose sole purpose in life was to get the man she wanted and bear his children. A shy girl with emotional baggage with a crush on what was virtually public enemy number one outside of the Uchiha clan should have been if nothing else more interesting than what we actually have. It’s unfortunate because the Hinata in part one didn’t change any aside from the calendar to the Hinata in part 2. And after everything Naruto went through he gets a huge character regression to the point I don’t recognize my mans? The pairing I grew up wanting and the one that we got are not the same and it’s just so disappointing.

The only way NaruHina works in canon is if Hinata had a teacher from the same age group as team Hiruzen who was in love with Jiraiya like she is with Naruto and if the reason behind Rin’s death was because a character who was in love with Obito blamed Rin for Obito being buried alive and was angry Obito loved Rin instead of her and under the influence of Orochimaru’s curse mark orchestrated Rin’s death

Honestly, everyone in Boruto seem so unhappy you think in this world of peace, they’d be more happy than previous Naruto Characters. But they Seem more happy in the OG you know the world at constant warfare lol

It's honestly really sad. Hinata had so much potential as a character, not even just as a love interest, but as an iconic character within the franchise who a lot of people adored. Her showing at the Chunin exams was a huge surprise and really showed just how much potential she had, when given the proper motivation. Then she basically just got delegated to being a side character again whose only purpose was to simp over Naruto. Some of the part 1 filler did a decent job of propping her up for a bit, namely the episode where she creates the 64 palms defense; issue being that it's literally not even. The fact that she is now essentially just a background character in Boruto is especially egregious.

24:10 On the Hiashi thing, the father-daughter thing should have been addressed in shippuden, either in an arc for sorting the hyugas issue or in a life & death moment in the war arc. Or even become the main underlying theme of the Last movie. It would be great to see Hiashi change his stance and give way to Hinata, but because it is never addressed, his loving grandpa persona in boruto is a whiplash. Plus, i also think in real life, people's opinions change ad they grow. What you thiught was right in your teens might not be so in your twenties. If that is so, then we should give people a measure of leeway for gaining more experience, seeing a different perspective and changing their minds on the beliefs they had earlier on in life.

The funny thing is I actually like the naruhina ship, but everything you said is right. Theyre a forced ship with no cannon chemistry, they do not deserve to be endgame. I havent watched any boruto yet so I cant talk much on that, but your description of their relationship as adults hurts. 6:15 Also just a quick jump on the sakura hate train for a second, anything sakura did to keep people alive during the battle against pain was rendered irrelevant when nagato brought all the dead back to life. In fact the people who did die were better off in alot of cases (tsunade in a coma cough)

I am honestly neutral towards naruhina. I don't like it, but I don't dislike it either. It's a healthy couple that was writen wrong simply because it's an action manga. A few tweaks and this ship could've been great! But it's just meh. It was destined to happen and I wish it wasn't. If naruto or hinata were single I wouldn't mind it. I don't even mind that they're together. I don't get the fans that do act toxic over this ship or any ship for that matter.

Thank you. I never saw the appeal of NaruHina. It was nothing but a childhood unrequited love on Hinata's part. Naruto never showed interest in her. She was just another face in the crowd. Her personality was loving Naruto, and that’s just sad and pathetic. Hinata could have had potential to grow if she would have let go of her stupid crush on Naruto. Instead of doing things to get him to notice her, why didn't she do things for herself? Just like how she saw Naruto grow and build himself up, she could have done the same for herself. But no, it was just "N-Naruto kun" and faint. She didn't grow as a character at all, and was rewarded for doing absolutely nothing. Personally i would have perfered Naruto to end up alone with adopted kids, or have a different partner who he acrually has chemistry with. I don't care for "forced" romance. I could go on, but yeah i agree with you. I don't even want to get started on Sakura and he that shall not be named. 😒

This video got me think about Sessrin and how their relationship is handled. I’m not really familiar with the Naruto franchise, but I have heard about its poorly handled representation of its females characters. For the way the Naruhina ship is described is pretty messed up, in compare with Sessrin, Rin is mostly around Sesshomaru for the majority of her screen time yet was given a background which explains her reasoning & was given autonomy by Sesshomaru himself. It’s just a shame Yashahime didn’t explore their relationship more or that the sequel just went from a show with potential to a disappointing & infuriating sequel. Anyway, those are just my thoughts that got me thinking & sorry if you enjoy Yashahime.

Also the whole Studio Pierrot pushed for NaruHina thing doesn't even make sense cause how would an Animation studio have that much say over the Mangaka creator's body of work and where it went?

Have you watched the Bikōchū Search Mission filler arc in the original series? It had a lot of Naruhina moments and Hinata is a badass in those filler episodes, she's not "just a bland" character as you describe her as. It's a pity Hinata had such a tiny amount of screen time in Shippuden, we didn't have more scenes with Hinata to show her development.

Even when trying to write something about naruhina in fanfic it's really hard to because naruto himself never did feel the same way for hinata he legit ignored her feelings until the war and the last one of the worst romance movie I ever watch

I love NaruHina but Kishimoto fumbled the ship when Naruto just ignored Hinata after she almost died for him in the Pain arc. I feel like Naruto The Last was his last chance to reignite that pairing.

You are spitting FACTS with this one! While this ship definitely isn't as toxic/problematic/etc. as Sasusaku, it honestly bothers me WAY MORE because it has just no development until The Last. And if you NEED a (bad) movie to create and justify the ship, there's a problem. At least Sasusaku was a consistent possibility from the beginning, even if Sakura definitely SHOULD have moved on considering... everything. Personally the fact that Naruto and Hinata interact for less than 50 pages out of a 700 chapter series AND she literally confesses to him only for him to forget and never address it tells me everything I need to know. And then after their "bonding moment" at the cost of Neji's life he STILL calls Sakura his girlfriend? Yeah, no. You're so right about the character assassination in The Last, too. Naruto KNEW what love was and they really had to retcon that to make their terrible ship work? They couldn't have just had him either confess to Sakura and get rejected, or move on after seeing she'll always love Sasuke? It would have been EASY to end the lingering thread of Naruto's feelings for Sakura, but they chose the worst most stupid option possible. Dunno if you're familiar with Bleach, but Studio Perriot had a similar bias with that one where it favored Rukia and Ichiruki at the expense of Orihime and Ichihime. And Ichihime was canon in the end (which upset a lot of anime-only fans since the studio had really tried to downplay it), but it ended up being Naruhina done WAY right IMO. Hinata was irrelevant to the end while Orihime slowly progressed from a side character crushing on Ichigo to the main heroine fighting the final battle at his side. Tite Kubo stuck to his original plan (Ichihime was obvious in the pilot chapter that got the series officially greenlit!), and the majority of fans knew which ships were coming. It's only the ones clinging to a ship and story dynamic that had faded out 300+ chapters ago that were salty. We'll never know if it's true that Naruhina/Sasusaku was the original plan or just a bad excuse by Kishimoto. I honestly hope it's the latter, because I'd prefer to think he had to cave from pressure from his editors and "fans" than to think his writing was THAT BAD. The endgame ships should never be a plot twist - that's the one thing readers need to see development for. And Narusaku, the "red herring", got ALL the development. It had flaws but it would have made sense as canon which is more than I can say for what we got instead.

Personally, I support narutoxshikamaru. Granted, I don’t think he was necessarily gay, but I would lean towards Shikamaru being bi or asexual with his general lack of sexual interest in people (except Temari) and him finding women troublesome and only saying he wants a wife and two kids as his duty and what’s expected of him as clan head and is less troublesome than a non-typical relationship. I think of everyone with good chemistry; it would be these two. Shikamaru never mistreated naruto and included him in games as children, even asking his dad why the adults treated Naruto badly. Moreover, I think out of all the characters, Shikamaru was one of the first to believe naruto could be Hokage and was even willing to support/aid him in achieving his goal. Not to mention them bonding with each other over the deaths of their senseis. Them being there for and supporting each other when they needed it. I think it would be understandable for interest and a relationship to grow between the two. Not to mention them working together as adults in the Hokage tower could strengthen/stabilize their relationship, as compared to any other couple where being Hokage/busy working all the time could create a wedge in a relationship. They also fill in each other gaps, with naruto pushing Shikamaru, and Shikamaru being the voice of reason on things naruto may have overlooked/forgotten.

I’m a naruhina fan I see this vid to its end, and I agree with your logic. However, I have one thing to say, all the other girls in Naruto have not shown any interest in him romantically but hinata. I know it’s not the strongest reason, but out of everyone in the village who hated Naruto existence that alone is enough for me.

He's such a great person, he's so precious and everything I wanted was to see his happy end, but with who else? with Hinata, I don't think we can consider as a happy ending... but it's the same with Sakura and anyone else I can think of. but still, Naruto had never felt the real love of having a family and I really wanted him to experience it, but who could give him that? he could have adopted a kid like Gaara did, but would it really give him the feeling of having a loving family? well I'm not sure, what do you think of that?

Nothing about that ship makes sense, they just matched the two up because of the fandom of them liking Hinata because of her chest size and her dendere shy side. The last movie was just the writer's way of promoting the mid and making half of the side of the fandom happy, I won't blame the creator for the poor writing because we all have our weaknesses is stuff.

I love Naruto, it was my favorite show growing up, but it's soooo poorly written!!. Naruto per se is pretty contradictory, all characters are (except maybe shikamaru), he was supposed to be the guy who had nothing but by working really hard he became the hokage, but we all know that's not the case. What they did with Itachi's character arc (my favorite character) was awful, had no sense and was pretty stupid, since all the crimes he commit would make more sense is he was truly evil, I mean the guy was basically a terrorist. And What they did with Hinaya father in Boruto it's similar to what they did with orochimaru in Boruto, like are we now supposed to like this wholesome and gentle guy here in Boruto and forget all the messed up shit he did in Naruto? smh 🤦🏾‍♀️

I don’t like even though I am not done with the series I’m not halfway through I just watched the clips of fighting, chemistry around the characters in Shippuden, and even more on Sasuke. I stopped watching Boruto after the Jigan arc. I’ve lost all my respect to Naruto because of what happened. Popularity destroyed the chemistry around characters.

I actually Disagree and I have a character analysis on Hinata on the works. Their relationship is more thematic than you think. Rather than quantity, I think Kishimoto went for the quality. I can't stress enough how much Hinata have impacted Naruto's ideology as a character but all of it went over people's head cause they don't pay attention. Here lemme post a small snippet on it of which I wrote, until the chunin exams. If you have any questions ask me, like the sources or something. Also I'm yet to cover the NarutoxHinata interactions which are important to his character as this is mainly an analysis on Hinatas character until the chunin exams, I have a lot more to cover. Hinata was born to the world shouldering the responsibility of her family, to lead the Prestigious, traditional and old Hyuga clan with a strong unwavering fist. But her personality was that of a soft spoken girl who was kind, gentle and empathetic, her name literally translates to "Pure white lily facing the sun" to signify her purity as a character and a person. Because of Hinata's nature, her father Hiashi thought that she would not make a good leader for the clan so to motivate her, he pit her against her younger sister Hanabi. In this match Hinata lost to her sister since she was unable to land the final blow out of kindness for her sister, Hiashi who saw this as hesitancy and weakness disowned her and essentially kicked her out of his clan. Hinata being born with high expectations and being unable to fullfill them to her family left her with a scar in her early years as she felt inadequate, weak and an unloved failure who cursed the way she was. She berrates herself for her past failures and constantly undermines herself. Which in turn made her unable to believe, trust nor love herself and it lead her on a downward spiral of self hate and guilt. She betrayed herself and lost all will to fight and change. She developed an inferiority complex and her repeated failures in missions and in training because of her inability to trust in herself, only made things worse for her. Although she trained very hard every day, it means nothing if she couldn't believe in herself. Because of her past failures she has also developed a fear in failing and so she thought that it is better to stay a failure than to try and fail, and so she gives up on everything. These feelings would eventually lead to the Hinata we see in early part of Naruto, a depressed mess with social anxiety which is seen through her general mannerisms(her shyness & being easily flustured, avoiding social confrontations by avoiding talking and looking down while talking to another, stutter and shaky voice etc..). She is passive, indecisive, hesitant and always prefers to be in the background of situations that she is put in, she is always overruled by her peers and her opinions aren't cared even by them as she lacks agency. Even her character design of wearing cozy long sleeved sweaters as if to hide from everyone, and not showing her skin in the slightest compared to other kunoichi because she doesn't see the value in such things and certainly wants no spotlight as she hates being judged by people, like how her father and her clan by extension did with her in the past. Around this time she sees Naruto, another loner in the world who struggles with similar feelings of worth, depression, acceptance and failure but a degree worse that what she has to deal with, and yet he faces the world with a smile and a firm belief in himself. He is judged by people around him and despised by them for his circumstances similar to how she was judged and hated for hers by her family, but he is dealing with even worse prejudice. She relates to his struggles of acceptance and mostly his confidence/his ability to believe in himself, the trait that she wishes for. As a similar failure, she knows how easy it is to give up and lose your worth after constant failure and how discouraging it is. Although her worth was stripped away by her father and her clan in disowning her, Naruto didn't have a sense of self worth to begin with, since no one beleived in him in the first place, but he never gave up on himself and stopped trying like she did. Seeing how he fails repetedly but never gives up, she recognizes Naruto's strength and is motivated herself to try harder and in turn beleive and accept herself, that she too could maybe change if she never gave up on herself. Watching Naruto, he basically fills her with hope, belief and self worth, making her able to accept/love herself again. She sees Naruto as a person who although fails, have the ability to stand back up and keep on fighting for his goals, unlike herself from the past who just accepted their fate and stayed sulking with the hand they were dealt with. Seeing this redefines her ideology on strength and makes her wish for that strength for herself too. As she says herself when Naruto doubts himself when he was going to fight Neji, True strength is to never give up and keep on trying even at worst odds, that is also why she calls Naruto a proud failure. A failure who never gives up on trying to change themselves for the better, until they eventually succeed. Her belief in Naruto is based on this aspect of him, this is further emphasized by the symbolical irony of their Doujutsu, the Byakugan. The Byakugan makes them look blind eventhough it grants them the ability to see through everything, but in seeing everything they are blind to their own strengths and weaknesses, which is symbolized by the blind spot. Hinata, before anyone, saw Naruto's strengths despite everyone else calling him a failure, but she was blind to her own strengths until Naruto made Hinata realize hers.

Agree 100%. I'm personally either Narusaku or SNS (narusasunaru). I would be happy with either of these ships. I literally avoided Boruto for so longgggg. In my mind it ended when Shippuden did. I love NaruHina in the Chunin Exams specifically. Because HInata is the complete polar opposite of Naruto. Hinata has a family, not only that she's literally the princess of the most important clan in Konoha. On the other hand we have Naruto who at this point came from nothing and is an orphan. By Naruto's view HInata should be happy, she has everything he could dream of, but that's far from the case. Naruto in general deals a lot with the underdog trope, this idea of never giving up and proving yourself and I believe Naruto and HInata are the perfect couple to represent that. Hinata represents a different side of the underdog story in Naruto. Usually Naruto tackles the underdog story through characters being born with nothing and working hard to prove themselves like Lee and Naruto. But Hinata is different she comes from a important clan, however the expectations that come with this are far too great for her. Both her and Naruto are belittled, Naruto from the entire village and Hinata from her own family. Hinata has given up at this point, prob hating herself from being constantly emotionally bullied by her family, but seeing Naruto not give up like her and instead face this hate head on and strive to overcome it is what inspires her to try and change too! This is the real potential with NaruHIna I see, 2 ppl from polar opposite backgrounds that want to prove themselves. However Kishimoto fumbles the bag hard by not only changing Naruto's background to having the most broken bloodline imaginable, but also changes the context of HInata's crush. In the chunin exams it only seemed like Naruto inspired Hinata to strive to better herself but the Pain arc changes this by giving them a concrete backstory of kid Naruto saving her from bullies which is significantly less interesting.

Am l like the only one who wanted Naruhina to happen? As a kid growing I shipped Naruto and Hinata together. Gaara my absolute favorite growing up. I also like Ino then fir for reason stopped liking Ino I guess she remined me sakura. Sakura annoys me. I dont like how she treats Naruto. The whole love system in Naruto is messed up.
