Neeraja J Panicker I know Senthamizh is one of the dialect in chera region which later got mixed with Sanskrit to form a new language called as "Malayalam". It still possess lot of old tamil vocabularies in a spoken form. Tamil is the language of your ancestors so you can use it too..

Iam from north eastern part of India, manipur state. I don't know the meaning of the song but it is really,truly melodious and listen to it many times. The song and tune itself depict the richness of Tamil culture or the Sangam culture. Surely have a dream of learning Tamil,once in a lifetime.

Being Bengali, I watched Iruvar quite some time ago with subtitles, and the music has been on my mind ever since. I was lucky to find the English translation of the lyrics of this amazing song, and the sheer poetry in them, coupled with ARR's composition makes this song such a treasure! Wish I come across more of such numbers.

That made a great impact on us about our language. And one more thing for you. A song with bad lyrics and bad pronunciation of the language will make the song very bad. In this song, the tamizh language flows aalong with the tune very nicely. So, it is appreciated.
