@@Jay-sz9lu I hope you're joking lol because there's also Naruto vs Neji and Sauce man vs Gaara in that arc. Then theres also Naruto and Sauceman vs Orochimaru. There's also plenty of hype undercard matches like Hinata vs Hyuuga, Sauceman vs that random Orochimaru henchman, Rock Lee vs 3 sound ninjas, and Naruto vs Kiba
@@theblueplayer3527 why so? We became acquainted with them in that arc if anything that arc should've given more of an appreciation more of them were in that arc
@@kanemccarthy1979 Problem is with chunin exams, they showed us Gaara early on and he eclipsed all the other characters in interest. Rock lee, and Neji were both really interesting originally but seeing how Gaara put Lee and sasuke to shame shifted interest towards him, and kind of killed the hype around those characters. Rock lee's fight with gaara will remain an amazing fight obv, but he def isn't that interesting post-fight. It's all overshadowed when Konoha crush arc happens and then the arc shifts focus to Orochimaru's takeover and Gaara going on a rampage and those side characters just end up fading into the background. Even Sasuke got put to shame, although it was done intentionally for him to help sow the seeds of his motivation to leave
If your homies don’t try and save you from your inner demons like this then they aren’t your real homies. This is what that season taught me growing up get real friends. I’m glad Naruto taught me what true friendship is growing up.
For real me an my best friend watched this every Saturday when it premiered at 7 or 8 then got high an enjoyed it at 2 or 3 In the morning but we got the "bond"
0:51 Sasuke picking up his headband symbolizing him as a ninja with Naruto and Sakura, then as soon as Orochimaru and Itachi pop up, he instantly loses his grip. So much symbolism.
Definitely agree this is my favourite arc in og Naruto and aside from maybe the arc/s involving Pain/Itachi, the favourite in Naruto. That been said, the story of Naruto and Sasuke are unlike ordinary ninja and thus, they are relegated.
I don’t care what anyone says, anime and the openings like this literally shaped my childhood and personality. I’m grateful to have to privilege to have experienced this era of anime and continue to experience it for as long as I live.
@@MrKingYuji It's crazy too because didn't Madara and Hashirama make Konoha so that children wouldn't have to keep spilling blood on the battlefield...yea that plan worked out
@@DestroyerThedefender It was more about unprepared little kids, I believe. Norm shifts gradually after all, in their times, it seems kids could be sent to battlefields as soon as they could walk to one. Naruto and his pals meanwhile got a whole Academy where they're taught basics that will make their survival more likely. And there's whole mission ranking system that's meant to avoid inexperienced soldiers pointlessly losing their lives. This Sasuke mission, as far as I remember, was pointed out to be not suited for a bunch of genins, but Konoha couldn't afford sending anyone else at that moment. Sure, the system doesn't work perfectly, but it's better than it used to be, clearly. And then it arguably gets seven safer for Boruto and his peers.
This opening, this season of Naruto, defined my loyalty and my love to my friends and family more than anything. Everytime I listen to this I get chills.
back when side characters could win a battle instead of having help by the main character back when side characters helped the main character and actully won
Toonami time slots were legendary for me like I remember being 8 trying to stay up with my brother to ended up watching it alone sword art online Naruto dbz soul eater bleach and more😭
0:23 During that whole segment, I would refer tot hem as “the dream team” because I loved all of those characters and I was so happy that they were all on a team together
i was just a 5th grader when this arc was coming out on toonami. back when you would get bullied for liking anime stuff. i loved having my missing nin konoha headband
Absolutely. I was around the same age I think I was a little younger like 3rd or 4th grade but definitely saying you watched anime was not something you told everyone. And I’m black so if I told my guys I watched it with everyone around, I’d get clowned, it definitely wasn’t popular to say. Now shows like Naruto DBZ and one piece are more socially acceptable. It’s interesting to see the transition how it used to be said that only weirdo’s watched anime to now a good amount of people will binge watch it now
No one is talking about 0:47 where Sasuke thinks of Naruto and Sakura in the light, holding onto the Leaf headband, but then Orochimaru and Itachi bring darkness and Sasuke drops the headband
@@slimstrait780 Sasuke on the verge of letting it go, but Itachi returns and wipes the floor with Sasuke and his obsessed with Naruto. There was no going back after that.
This was favorite opening in part 1 Naruto. Really set the tone of the arc. The tension and heart break of sasuke and Naruto. The intro of sound ninja. Great time as a Naruto fan
This arc is literally best opening best anime ending song best character development best power ups best plot there is literally nothing to complain it’s simply just amazing
Man I just can not explain the feeling when the bass drops… I think it’s fair to say we ALL miss the old days with that being said, we’re most definitely living in the last ones.
Daniel Wow, last time i checked they were blocked because “it wasn’t available in your country” . but just checked right now and now they’re available 😄
Its the nostalgic feeling the last 40 seconds of the opening creates, showing lee after having been told he might no longer be able to be a ninja and the slideshow of the most impactful moments between sasuke and naruto is phenomenal.
This arc felt like the most different one it had this sorta eerie vibe but also had back to back to back fights and emotional moments 10/10 sasuke recovery arc was legendary
I ain’t gonna lie this opening always gives me chills, super nostalgic I remember watching this on a Canadian Chanel every Saturday night around 2006 ,crazy I love those times. Everything was so simple then.
People who stereotype anime to a nerdy, cringeworthy label are really really missing out on the most valuable pieces of fiction to ever apply to your life-an unforgettable experience.
This opening has everything. The coolest genin running and fighting, a shirtless Sasuke, Rock Lee and Might Guy crying into the sunset, some nostalgia bait, and naruto yelling in 9 tails mode.
Character development during this arc was so good. We still felt Naruto and Sasuke were the focus, but got to appreciate back story of everyone. Even bad guys like Kimimaro.
Top comment: The arc where Sasuke realized the show was called “Naruto” Reality - entire season is about Sasuke as if he's the main character. Ending with him beating Naruto.
I came back because this op means son much for me, it reminds me to my childhood and the last time I spent with my childhood classmates before we went to High School, I remember I started watching Naruto again back on 2014, every day after I came back from school. Around the last months of the years, my classmates and I we were joking about making our own anime serie based on Naruto, so this opening has the face of the last memories I have with them when were together, I think I'll never be able to forget Naruto, his story caught me since the very first day I watched it when I was 7, following him for almost 15 years 🖤
Those first 10 seconds are so nostalgic, one of the first of Naurto's original openings I got to see online with a friend ahead of Cartoon Network's release date and I never forgot how it made me feel knowing how much better the original openings were, really don't understand why Viz skimped out the first few season openings before finally leaving them alone but I'm glad it was in time for when they finally got to this point.
0:25 love how they have Akamaru running with the gang instead of havin him tucked in Kibas hoodie makin it known he slidin for the hidden leaf aswell 💪🏼😂💯
I will never get enough of the absolutely unforgettable, extremely GROOVY guitar in this iconic Naruto opening!!! Sambomaster truly brought insane grooviness to it!! The animation was Soo top-tier and the distorted screen opening was so beloved 2000s!! And it was Sooo cool how they were all going after Sasuke!!
When I was young and watching this for the first time, I really didn't know what was next for Naruto after Tsunade became Hokage. I was the young silly person who also watched the fillers of the anime, so when Sasuke became the focus of this part and mad at Naruto for being stronger than him, yeah, I thought it was a short, "When good guys go bad or tempted to be bad." Arc. But this was a CHANGE of how this could work. A full, "Oh, he's no teammate, he's betraying and going to be one of the Main Villains." I thought as well after the first time Naruto and Sasuke fought that Naruto would be successful in saving him, BUT MAN, COMPLETELY WRONG. It's one moment in the history of anime that makes this in my opinion the greatest anime of all time. You think you have this figured out and want the best, but it hits you in the gut and subverts your expectations completely. It also makes the ending of Shippuden worth watching as we come full circle in Naruto saving Sasuke. Just incredible.
I liked how this intro changed, like when Shikumaru got his vest, when the villains were defeated, when Orochimaru got his new body, when Rock Lee was back in the fight and when Gaara got involved
When i was little This season taught me to reach for someone who is in a dark place as no matter how enveloped they are in darkness there is a light that will always touch you eventually and especially if you have a bond with that person youll be the one to reach thier heart at the end🤍
I remember being in 4th grade during Halloween when this intro appeared, and it caught me by total surprise. It was life changing. Seriously it set a tone I had never felt before. The song was nostalgic before I even knew what nostalgia was.
Man I wish Naruto kept up the focus on side characters. If Naruto had the world building of OP it would undisputedly be the greatest anime of all time(it is to me tho lol)
