I'm a country blues singer from the UK, and we never hears of Narvel Felts! OUR LOSS!!! What a performer! Amazing and even up to this age! It is heart-breaking he is not as well known as Vince Gill, George Jones, Willy, etc.....
One night at a truckstop in Georgia a voice came on the radio and said Narvel Felts will be here tonight I said, where are you and how do I get there? He said if you’re at the truckstop I will come and assist you myself and three other drivers had the best time of our lives. Even got a picture the fan club president mailed it to me. We will miss him terribly
I had the honor and the pleasure to play several gigs with Narvel, around '89 or '90. I got to stand right beside him and I can tell you this man can sing... Very fond memories...
Watched this a few times now. This last time I watched the audience. When you've hooked your peers as Narvel did, when they are totally engrossed in your singing, when they including the band, give you a standing ovation,....Thats something Real Special. How was this guy not a super star?????
He was. This man was a powerhouse in the 70's and every country bar band did their damn hardest to copy the man. Few pulled it off. Believe me, my band tried like everyone else. His vocal range was awesome.
To me there are only two men that could pull off the vocal range to get the utter respect of their fellow artistes and that was Narvel Felts and Gene Watson. None of them got the recognition they should have.The look on Jean Shepherds face says it all.

Ok... how can anyone give this a thumbs down? Im a rocker to the core and dont usually listen to much else, but man ...when a legend like this sings, and does he ever sing.... you have to bow down and give the props where the props are due. Narvel Felts is simply an amazing talent.
IT'S SO SAD THAT MOST OF HIS POPULARITY WENT TO EUROPE AFTER THE MID-70'S. NARVEL IS A FRIEND OF MINE. AT LEAST HE WAS. WE KINDA LOST TOUCH OVER THE YEARS. HE ONLY COMMUNICATES WITH THE U.S. MAIL OR CORDED TELEPHONE. HE IS NOT A FAN OF TECHNOLOGY. NOBODY CAN SING LIKE NARVEL! I'VE TRIED. CAN'T HIT THOSE NOTES HIGH ENOUGH OR RICH ENOUGH! GLAD YOU LOVE HIM TOO!

Every time I watch and listen to Narvel Felts I see the Respect and Admiration from his Peers . Sadly many of them have Passed away . Great Contributor of Country Music themselves . Miss them All . Country Music FAN Forever .
This song means so much to me. I have loved this woman for more than 65 years and have never even touched her. She was my first love in the first grade in grade school. She does not even know I exist but I know how much I love her. How can someone be this gullible to love some one so long and never tell her. One day before I die I will tell her just how I feel about her.
Years ago when I was much younger I fell head over heels for someone and she wanted more from life then I was capable of offering at the time. Our divorce scarred my heart which I wasn't prepared for. I sat for hours in this one establishment alone just sitting at the bar with a longneck in my hand listening to this song at least a million times. I made that juke-box fat with my money. Years went by and one day I just "woke up" and went back to school. Picked up several degrees and today I am a millionaire with my own business - and she's "The Queen Of The Silver Dollar". Narvel is fantastic with this song!
Sometimes we just don't know a person, till we wise up and see the real person. God has a plan for each of us , but we don't always stay on the path he has for us to follow and it gets purdy bumpy. I have all these family reunion dvd's i love them. When I saw him on there I could not believe it. He still has it. What a voice. Did you see the love on the people's faces as they watched him sing.
By the time he was done with that final high note, I was giving him a standing ovation myself!! I just don't understand why Narvel Felts wasn't a bigger star in the country pantheon. His songs are so brilliant, and he sings them with a little bit of the crazy, a little bit of passionate desperation if you know what I mean. He also seems like such a sweet humble man. Stephen Greek I was lucky enough to see him about 20 years ago. Met him. Had pictures taken with him and got his autograph. He was a real gentleman. Loved his show.
I grew up listening to this kind of music. It was nothing to walk into my grandmothers house or come home from school and hear all of these great country artists. this is TRUE country music.
This song just touches my heart every time I hear it. Narvel sings it with all his heart, and it touches me every time. It doesn't really relate to me as I have a truly loving husband, but my heart breaks for those out there who don't have the same experience.
The respect and admiration that the greats of music showed and gave him is what it' s all about. The new artist just don' t seem to get it. Talent, not a gimmick, is what keeps you there.
I am 40 years old...I loved this song since I was a little girl and didn't even understand what it meant. It still makes me cry...listening to this performance...thank you and bravo!
Narvel Felts is a true Country Music Legend , and I think he has gotten better with age. Thanks so very much for posting this masterpiece of country music which Narvel sings so heavenly. And he is a true gentlemen.
All the members of CFR are great. However and without question or doubt, Narvel has one of the most beautiful voices ever in any kind of music, if not the best ever.
I have never heard tell of Narvel or any of his songs until I stumbled across this video. He is amazing! I listen to this song multiple times a day (sometimes I listen to it multiple times in a row). What a voice!!!
The expressions on the faces of Jean Shepard and T. Graham Brown sends the message that Norval Felts can still tear at your heartstrings with the emotion he puts into this song.....Great song by an even greater entertainer.

Narvel Felts sings this beautiful song with great passion. Wonderful response from the great singers and musicians around him. Narvel also shows his very spicial high notes in his top hit "Reconsider Me".
Narvel comes from my neck of the woods and I have seen him several times in concert and I have never attended a concert that wasn't great. He is one of a kind and a very humble man. Thanks Narvel for all you did for country music.
