Did Boeing make that spacesuit that's leaking?

Yes. Have you heard of any problems with the SpaceX suits?
@Awesomepotamus
@Awesomepotamus 3 дня назад
no, they were made by ILC Dover. They are getting pretty old and are very hard to completely maintain in a weightless environment. The cooling system has been especially finicky in recent years.
@garyz4465

@@Awesomepotamus who designed them? Do you know when they were used besides the current flight?
@Awesomepotamus
@Awesomepotamus 3 дня назад
@@garyz4465 They were designed by ILC Dover, Hamilton Standard, and Collins Aerospace under contract of NASA. The last time they were used successfully was November 1, 2023.

@@garyz4465 You mean the SpaceX EVA suits which have never actually been flown? Incredible that they've managed to remain problem free on the 0 missions they've been utilized for.

@capicolaspicy
@capicolaspicy 4 дня назад
They shouldn't make anyone nervous - been watching the programs since the late 60's and there have always been glitches and gremlins. Even Spacex has plenty, but Elon keeps it much more quiet under threat of termination or death to the staff!

After watching this, it is apparent that the Apollo missions never went to the moon. They had none of this external assistance when pressurizing and depressurizing their suits and the LEM. Where did all of the O2 come from for the long EVAs and multiple depressurizing and repressurizing the LEM come from? Where did all of the extensive battery power come from to heat and cool their suits during their multiple hour EVAs?

Good thing we have a $3.5B contract for new space su….oh wait the manufacturer just decided it’s not worth it and pulled out. Maybe NASA will just have to buy SpaceX’s new EVA suits.

I mean the best case scenario I’m only six years off from Winn. It’s actually going to be deorbited as a part of its mission anyway. It’s not only showing its age. It’s showing some lack of foresight and funding. If you want to hang out in dangerous places, it’s gonna cost a bit of money.

@garyz4465 4 дня назад
I think there is some type of political or money influence going on between NASA and Boeing. Maybe jobs. Why else would they even consider bring home the crew in a defective STARLINER? They should cancel the Boeing contract. Boeing got 4.3 million for the development of it and SpaceX got 2.6 million. Boeing has had way too long to correct issues that keep coming up. What risks don’t we know about ??

What you gotta do is, take a trip down to guangdong, down to the bargain street, get a suit from there. It does not leak and they print whatever you want on the suit for you.

Sudden satellite link up reconfig... then volla, recapture of images from the ISS, but no space walking astronauts in sight! We're they even there or did they die and the surviving ISS crew members eject their dead body corpses back into space through the air lock hatch? I can't trust anything from NASA (I briefly worked their as a contractor). You wouldn't believe the shenanigans that go on there behind the scenes. It's brutal and it's comical, as if the employees were in a NASA cult; doing nearly everything cockeyed-crazy, but believing in everything NASA does, right or wrong! I was fired for making light of a planetary mission that missed its mark, because some fool inputted measurement data in feet/inches, when it was supposed to be metric. It was so typical of NASA that I had to laugh at it, and hence be able to learn from it. NASA doctrine says never question NASA and never be honest with yourself enough to learn from stupid mistakes. Because NASA doctrine #1 NASA does not make mistakes. And that's plain old horse-pucky. The regular employees steal NASA blind, thieving very very valuable things to have at home, in the basement workshop or in the garage. When I left (suddenly) someone packed up my desk items in a box and handed them to me, so I wouldn't steal anything. Some items packed were things belonging to NASA not me ("US Government'"embossed on many items). I just removed that stuff and left it all behind there, on my desk. Because I'm simply not a damn thief. As I worked at my job there I needed to interact with almost everyone; I was extremely polite, and genuinely charming (it's how I was raised.. especially around women) and also I was a fairly good looking young dude. These facts together served me little with any standing regard among very many NASA employed men. It raised some jealousy, which I simply ignored. But that jealous mindset initiated a fair amount of passive-aggressive behavior; things like sabotaging my work, information and results a little, or hiding important information from me. I just blew such silliness off as overgrown childhood behavior. But a few times I was physically threatened with near violence, which seemed completely fathomless to me. I never meant any harm to anyone. Why the vitriol? I was glad to leave after only 6 months. Good riddance, and I was left with the complete explanation for NASA's multiple fu'k ups!

They focus more in lobbying and buying off congress to continue useless wars. Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afgan, Yemen, Ukraine and of couse the most important State, Israel
