As you could probably tell, a significant portion of the video had to be cut because of a copyright claim submitted by F1. By the way, totally unrelated, check the description...

Be forgiven for not being a Formula 1 connoisseur. You have missed at least half of the major and minor incidents that have made this race and the entire championship so special. Max had worse car and made it to have the same amount of points at last race. He had also some fatal problems with the car and was few times eliminated becouse of car failure. Also - the stewards or better to say FIA was not objectively at some decisions and broke the rules at all some times and so on.

The sparks happen because the lower you can run a car the faster the air has to move underneath the car, this causes a low pressure area which effectively sucks the car to the ground. The cars have titanium skid blocks that are allowed a certain amount of wear over a race distance to stop teams running their cars dangerously low to the ground.
@JamoZNL
@JamoZNL 2 года назад
Titanium, the strips are made from titanium. Aluminum would be gone after 3 turns.

@madrooky1398
@madrooky1398 2 года назад
The titanium blocks or the ride height are not regulated, the blocks are just there to protect the actual floor from getting grinded, which is strictly regulated. And that allows teams to go rediculously low with their heights. The thing is, the aero creates so much pressure at high speeds that the cars get lower the faster they go. Red Bull creates at high speed the most sparks because they have the most agressive angle on their setup, meaning the rear is much higher than the front, so the titanium plates naturally get much more contact with the ground.

The FiA fucked up a lot indeed, but the rule as far as I know is you cannot overtake off the track. "Went of the track and gained a lasting advantage." The gap on Max did indeed increase, but was that really because of Hamilton cutting the corner, or rather the fact that Max just completely fumbled the exit of T7 , due to going of the racing line while pushing Hamilton wide in T6? In Jeddah, Max got ahead while being on the outside. Hamilton was in the front and Max came from a long way back and technically forced him wide, here. That's the main difference between those two incident and I think that's the only reason the FiA said there was no investigation necessary. Maybe Hamilton should've decreased the gap, maybe going with a delta or something. But he was basically ahead at the beginning of the corner, got pushed off. He didn't exactly 'take a place off track'. Not saying that Hamilton was in the right or Max in the wrong here, but I think that's about the argument the FiA'd give with the regulations. Do I agree with the regulations? Hell naw. The regulations and FiA were the worst part of the season. One thing I will never understand: Why did Max get a grid penatly for the incident in Monza? He was the one being pushed wide for once, it was Hamilton who caused it by not leaving space, for example.
@darkhseid
@darkhseid 2 года назад

To be fair I was rooting for max the whole season and I wanted him to win it and ofc I’m happy he did and he deserves it BUT I’m a bit annoyed at the FIA for trying to simulate “race drama” with last minute rule changes to give us a last lap shootout. Obviously it was a treat to watch but it feels like sport was held hostage by “good television” and that’s what doesn’t sit right with me. The track was clear within 3 laps and Masi should have given the order to let all lapped cars unlap themselves earlier - then we would have had the same ending without all this controversy but the lack of action by the RD and then the sudden rule change at the end is what’s a bit problematic for me :// I really wanted max to win but the way it happened felt a bit wrong and hasty (not Max’s fault at all). I do feel for Lewis because he’s obviously put a lot of time and dedication over the course of the championship, especially towards the end and it probably seems to him that none of that is relevant because the man upstairs can change the rules and take it from you in an instant. It’s been such an exciting season in itself but F1 was trying too hard to be a Hollywood film at the end - I love f1 and I’d hate to see it go down the commercial route rather than the sporting route

I’ve been a Nascar fan for about 15 years and this is the first F1 season I’ve watched in full. I love the broadcasts, feel like nascar can learn a lot from F1, however in this last race and other instances throughout this season the FIA made several bad calls.
@fredschepers5149
@fredschepers5149 2 года назад
They didn't.🙂 Everything went by the book. From the first cut of a corner gaining 200 meters over the car that just overtook you, but was allowed since it is a race, till the last lap where not all drivers were overlapping before the race started. If that would have happened we had a boring last lap behind a virtual safety car. Now the better driver won from the fastest car. But everything went by the book. However, since not everyone was happy with it, they changed the rules for a next season. But this last race and the entire season was the best season for decades. Super exciting for fans. The majority of F1 fans found Max the deserved winner based on his achievements that year. He was run of track by others twice. He would have won the season with at least 38 points difference. So end good, all good. 🙂👍🏻

You should really watch the next season of F1 in its entirely. The new 2022 regulations mean any car can come out on top, since they have to develop their new cars entirely from scratch and the new regulations are meant to bunch the teams closer together. Heck even Haas could end up coming out on top. Its gonna be super exciting. Sadly, Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Räikkonen won't be on the grid for 2022 anymore, but there'll still be many drivers to keep an eye on. Pierre Gasly who outperformed his Alpha Tauri this season (constantly coming in P6 in the 5th best car on the grid, aka 8 drivers have better cars than him). Carlos Sainz who joined Ferrari and finished the season ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc, who had been with the team for 2 years already. Mick Schumacher who will hopefully get a good car next year where he can fight for podiums and maybe even race victories (the 2020 Formula 2 champion and son of Michael Schumacher, the GOAT). Fernando Alonso who came back to the sport after a 2 year break in 2021 and was actually still pretty damn good. And both Aston Martin drivers who do have the experience and skills to fight for championships if only their car is good enough for the job. Its gonna be very exciting and the order of teams could really get shuffled up.

This one was so wonky because Masi (race director) had Merc’s Toto in his ear yelling at him to not let them past while he was trying to facilitate the cleanup and the restart. The sparks you ask about at 8:18 have to do with the underside of the car, it is pretty much completely flat but by FIA rules, it has to be a certain amount above the tarmac. There are titanium bolts underneath the car that measure this height which cause the sparks you see when those hit the road. And yes, there is a rule in place that those bolts can only wear so much.

Lewis wasn’t robbed, no rules were broken. Stop crying Lewis fans The thing is that if the FiA had followed the normal safety car procedure the end result would have been the same, Max would have still started the restart behind Lewis with fresh tires (they would have let ALL cars unlap themselves 1/2 laps before, which was possible). The only people affected by the FiA’s unusual (yet legal, Article 15.3) decision were the people behind Max and Lewis who weren’t given an opportunity to fight. The crash and safety were definitely unlucky for Lewis, but that is it, nothing more than bad luck, which Verstappen has had plenty of this season. Lewis wasn’t robbed, and Mercedes know this since they have no ground for an appeal. Mercedes took a gamble by choosing track position over fresh tires (maybe they thought Lewis could do what Perez did earlier in the race, except for the fact that Lewis has the way faster car) it didn’t pay off, strategical error. Mercedes knew the race would be green flagged again, which is clear from their radio messages and from the fact that they among other have protested against finishing under yellow conditions. Stop spreading hate, you are embarrassing yourselves and as well as Lewis

just extra info and fun facts about F1 etc. 1. the commentator is named David Croft also know as "crofty" 2. On the official F1 youtube chanel they upload higligths from all practice, qualifying and races for free (so people for example like you dont need to sit there for 4 hours, just to make a reaction or review video). 3. You asked about the sparks, well long story but i will try and keep it short. there is a rule that F1 cars need to be atleast 1 cm (a bit less than 3/4 of an intch). there is also many rules about the floor, for example the floor needs to be smoth, so canges in depth. The teams make sure to not break the rules (due to the friction from the asphalt witch can reshape the floor) by placing small skitbloks thats about 1 cubic centimeter. These small blocks are super resistant and are super hard. They create friction with the asphalt witch creates the awedsome looking sparks. 4. Yes, there is something called a "Safety car" in F1. They are deployed in cases when the maschals need to buntch the pack up to make it safe enugh from them to pick up debrie or remove cars after a incident. 5. Yes, F1 pitstops are the fastest in any racing categorey in the world. The world record for the fastest pitstop in history was set by Redbull in 2019 at brazil where they changed 4 tires in just 1.82 seconds. 6. The Merceds W11 was the fastet racing car ever built in history with its 1000+break horse power while producing 3 tones (6667lbs) of downforse. That means that all F1 cars on the F1 2021 grid are able to drive upside down in a tunnle after reatching a certain speed.

I sincerly appreciate your take on the last moments of the race. In the F1 world there is a hell of emotional roasting going on. But i think, and i have watched F1 for 20 years almost continuously, the stewards and the race director did essentially nothing wrong at all. The procedure to unlap the cars was unusual, because they had double yellow out for the most time, and what happened then was that the race director, also under pressure from the teams, let at least the cars between the leading cars unlap to have a final round of racing. And the RD is not responsible for the tire strategy of the teams, he is responsible for safety (->double yellow, no unlapping) and a good show (->thrilling final round). How the teams heandle that is up to them. And Toto trying to influence Masi over and over is the thing that is not right here. "Micheal that is not right" No Toto That is not right. lol I remember the championship decider of 2016, i dont remember You complaining about anything. For people who dont know about 2016, Rosberg was leading in points, Hamilton lead the race Rosberg on second. To win Lewis needed Rosberg to lose some positions, what he did was slowing down so the next cars could close the gap and in his hope take the position from Rosberg. And they were team mates. They raced together since they were kids. That is the dirtiest thing i have seen that a team mate could do to someone you know so well. Luckily it didnt work out. Sir dirty games Lewis Hamilton. The sparks comes from the cars having an extremely low ride height and they are filled with fuel that pushes it down just a tad more. When the car goes over a small bump or curb then the cars will scrape the bottom titanium on the ground, but the effect gets less and less as the fuel is used.
