This is one of the fairest reviews I have seen so far. Your points about the good things about the game and the stuff missing is great. I agree with the 7.25 score. This game is a huge step on the right direction!
I haven't played a Nascar game in 5 years. I cant wait to buy this game. 704 did alright this time. The negatives are probably the least worrying. Yes the presentation should be better and online, however the most urgent issues have been fixed like car ping ponging and physics in general.
The last Nascar game I played and enjoyed was Nascar 06. Not only fun to play for a filthy casual like me, but also an engaging career mode. Nice name, btw.
I already liked Heat 2... after giving it another chance after dumping it for 6 months. Finally we got good graphics, just hope for classic cars such as Chevy Lumina!
youre right nascar heat is lack of the presentation unlike f1 series ,thats what sometime turn me off playing nascar game ,there are no commentary before race and after race ,the atmosphere are just not there
Truly one of the best NASCAR console games ever. Any series any track is huge and the gameplay is better than the ea games. Add in the fully licensed series and a dirt series. This should be a fun year in heat 4
coreyandy5 One of the best? Don’t get me wrong I’m loving the improvement in this game... but that’s still a reach. This game is way behind in presentation and features than the EA games and even Eutechnyx. You still can’t adjust trackbar and brake bias while either on the track or on pit road... you still can’t change ONLY left side tires... pit road adjustments as a whole are so basic when you can do way more than change wedge and tire pressures... no practice and qualify online... no grief protection online.. no Clash/Duels/All-Star race... no rear end bumper extensions and modified spoiler for superspeedways.. among so much more missing from a title released in 2019. This was a huge step in the right direction and I’m having fun with Heat 4 but let’s not lose sight of how basic these 704 titles have been.
I agree w the Matchmaking on multi player. How can people just go into races wrecking other racers and not be penalized. I stick to the Career Mode and Challenges. Its 2019, no matchmaking really ruined the online experience for me.
I love it. Just a little easy getting thru the field on the super speedways but getting and staying in first is tough lol. But the friends and rivals is so much better.
Two ways to take it to the next level 1) Licensed Commentary(Optional and Adjustable) 2) A cinematic career mode along with interviews and small conversations with other drivers
Awesome to see improvement! For me though the car handling is the critical thing that needs improved no matter how good the rest is. It's just too easy and you never feel like you are pushing your limits to the max.
Fantastic review. i missed the sale a few days ago of ALL the NASCAR games on steam a few days ago, so when i got the dosh im just gonna import a hard-copy for PS4. There's a few NASCAR fans down here in Australia, thanks mate :)
Nice. Kind of suck they are making a yearly release. If they had an extra year in development the game could have those features like commentary and damage model you mentioned in the review.
I really like the game and it will keep getting better. I use to race on iracing on the pc it was ok but I much prefer this. There is a way to deal with the guys that are just out there to cause wrecks and I am sure it’s coming.
What about the replays? They were terrible since the first edition. Take a look way back. In 1995 you could pause the game and watch replays depending on your RAM up to 10 minutes and more. Everytime - in any part of testing, qualifying or racing. Man, it could not be that different to enjoy that 25 yrs later. Bless Papyrus.
The guy who is doing the voice-over knows his nascar and his nascar video gaming and I want heat 4 because of the option in career to go ahead in cup not having to work your way up
how's the entry level for someone who's never even seen a NASCAR race? I'm into rally and F1, but the car settings here don't say much to me. Can I still enjoy the game?
The issue I have with this game is that even on expert difficulty custom setups. The AI is still trash. They kick your ass in qualifying but 10 laps into a 200 lap race your in the front dominating. That’s not how it works. If you qualify 35th in real life your most likely not going to break the top 20, that’s if you finish because other things don’t go wrong. Jesus I tried with this game but I’m going back to iRacing. This is bullshit.
one thing that this video doesnt talk about and that bothered me was with the driving aids they are split into four "difficulties" and you can not tweak them separately so a driver like me who like stability control but not steering assist or brake assist you can not have that they all have to be on to varying levels not none at all
Thing is though, at least for me, you don't really need "commentary" during/after/before a race. You're a driver, not a viewer. I do think we need a more serious online multiplayer though. The amount of people who just go out there to wreck people actually trying to race is horrible. 704 needs to follow the Rainbow six siege model. Ranked for racing, casual for messing around.
@@tlanthony82 again, follow the Rainbow six siege model. What they can do is set up boundary boxes that operate as an invisible skin for the car. Then set up a ban system for contact with these boundary boxes. After that make the amount of times you can make contact with these boxes before ban in casual as well as ranked. iracing does it, old Nascar games did it with the black flags. Why can't 704 do it with NH4
@@sneekibreeki8162 ohhhh makes sense. It would help if I actually played R6S. Codemasters has a "kicked from lobby" after a certain amount of hits in F1 (even in ranked lobbies) and there is still a cancerous amount of people making unnecessary contact when you overtake
Tony’s Cowboy Show it’s nice man. I love it. Haven’t played online but I’m sure it’s a bunch of dummies driving like shit and wrecking. But it is awesome with career and racing.
What are things I can do to make the game more realistic when playing it like for instance car speeds I've noticed that when playing at tracks like Michigan or auto club my top speed is only like in the 180 range whereas in real life they hit well over 200
OK, so if I buy the disc version on Amazon that has PS4 on the cover...it will load and play on PC? Windows 10. Sorry, never been a console guy...55+ years old...lol.
Great game I can see the effort they put into but unfortunately they didn’t put enough! Not being able to adjust sensitivity and what not during practice is horse cock! By the time I run a few laps and then realize I need to adjust the sensitivity I have to restart everything like what the fuck 704??????
Listening to the Fans? Yet still no Paint Booth, still a completely useless Rival System and an absolutely shallow Career Mode. Don't get me wrong, I like the Game, but there's still way too much left to desire.
I still not trusting online. Feel like it’ll ruin my experience like heat 3 did. People just wreck shit. I don’t understand why the buy a nascar game to do that. Go buy wreck fest.
i would play this game if it had a ranked mode like league of legends, dota, overwatch and the like. Any game that doesnt have a serious mode for serious people is such a waste of time to me.
@@akfury83 it's a racing game their main focus is on the cars and tracks not the fucking people racing the cars it's not gta your not going to be getting in and out of your car the whole damn time
Finally some graphics that doesnt hurt your eyes. Nothing against classics, I'm a NES kid growing up with the Days of Thunder Game, but bad 3D sucks. I love Wreckfest, too, and they should get some inspiration for damage physics.
