NASCAR legend and Hall of Famer Bobby Allison walks us down memory lane back to the 1974 Permatex 200 on the Daytona Road Course. The race was for the NASCAR Modifieds and on this day Allison drove his 1973 Camaro to Victory Lane in one of the few NASCAR events held on Daytona's infield road course.

Bobby raced hundreds of races at short tracks all over the nation besides his cup races as he truly loved to race. Richard petty did not race hardly at all unless it was a cup race.

first you gotta start young, come from a fairly well-off family, actually do good, rise through the ranks, get sponsorship, and bam you're in the cup series (hopefully). or you can pull a William Byron and start your career ON A COMPUTER!

The only thing gremlin/pinto/Vega about these cars was the body! At that time, some of the chassis were from Detroit cars (anything from 37 or 57 chevy to international scout!) and some were tube chassis. They put on a heck of a show on the short tracks!
