@UltraFan57 only thing I didn’t like or I guess I did cause it was funny is when racing short tracks, the whole track gets blocked when a car wrecks. Unless you have cautions on
Might be because nascar doesnt want people to know that there is an old game better than pretty much every other nascar game to date, which is also abandonware(so free)
I don't usually see a lot of these where I'm like "Ooooh...I have to tune in to this", but this is one of them. Thanks to everyone at NASCAR Productions for the hard work put in on this one.
This is awesome, great content! Dave Kaemmer and the OG Papyrus group are legends for what they've done for oval simulation racing for over 2.5 decades. And yes I agree, it so fun to be in the tech industry since it's always advancing at insane speeds. I can only imagine what iRacing will look like in 2030 and beyond!
I love the closing line made me laugh so hard for some reason! Lol. Also, I noticed the last like 10 years of Nascar games didn't get showcased a lot. 🤔
NR2003 was and STILL IS the best racing sim to date imo. And it makes it even better that you can mod so much and even tweak the core files, exe etc (legally, and enjoying it for your own eyes that is)
I remember there was no manufacturers in one of those COT games. That sucked. EDIT* It was a EA Sports game that didn't have manufacturers, not theSim, I've never drove a sim, William Byron is a beast from the Sim world.,
NR2003 was and still is the best! I spent endless hours playing that. I bet they dont release the source code because its the foundation of what Iracing is today
Wouldn't mind seeing one for it's demolition derby cousin, Test Drive: Eve of Destruction. Both games were developed by Monster Games and share a lot of assets (Tracks, driver names, sponsors, etc.).
I spend all my time playing NASCAR Heat 5, and I love doing sim racing... I have a Thrustmaster T80 - Ferrari 488 GTB Edition, I might soon switch to a Thrustmaster T150 though, it's going to take some time getting used to an actual steering wheel (Instead of a PXN V3II). I love the hobby though, sim racing is such an amazing hobby that it blows my mind to see how much the graphics changed to all consoles. I've even been told by my parents that is the graphics they don't remember back then, the graphics look more advanced nowadays even with iRacing you can't even tell if it's real life or not. Sim racing has evolved with NASCAR games it's just amazing.
The legacy of nascar gaming will be forgotten, as long there's a racing world for fans, the era of gaming will never die. LONG LIVE NASCAR , THEN, NOW, AND FOREVER! 🏁🏆😎
Where's the love for NR2003?!? That was one of the best games they ever released and to this day is still one of the best games that was ever released.
Going from nascar 2008 as my first racing game to forza 4 being my favorite then not playing a racing game till project cars 2. Racing has come a long way. Cant wait for the new nascar game
My favorite video game racing of all time IndyCar racing 1 and 2 from Final Chapter 1993 and new chapter 95 it was the perfect computer video game of all time
My first NASCAR game was NR2003. Didn’t know dog water about the sport cause I was so young. I would run 2 lap shootouts with terrible AI speed just to know the feeling of taking the checkered. That, or I’d just drive backwards like everyone always would in those games. Here I am, in my mid 20s still playing NR2003. I know just about everything NASCAR now, and run 100% races from start to finish; win or lose. Such a great game.
My entire life of gaming in one video, although I still don't trust the motorsports gaming people, seems like someone wanting to pull an EA again and try and blow up PC racing.
I learned how to drive on Papyrus NASCAR Racing in 94 and the 2nd version in 96 with a Thrustmaster steering wheel and shifter/pedals. By time I got my learners permit, I was ahead of the game (pun intended).
its rarely somebody else talk about NR2003 by Papyrus/Serria that game was ever be a greatest of all time, for me it is king of nascar games and yet still playable either outdated but many modifiers that can be adopt into new a0 gen.
Nascar 95 on the ole family Compaq presario running windows 95 had to go into msdos mode to get to the game :) all using some thrust master pedals and wheel setup on a janky computer desk..... fun times
At least in the video game they don't have selective rule enforcement like Jimmie Johnson doing a pit stop 1/2 way into the next pit but because they wanted him to advance in the chase they didn't call it.
If there weren’t as many wreckers in the game I would enjoy it more. So there better be something in the next game that deals with that. Also it better be on PS4 tf.
For Consoles I have all but three NASCAR Games. NASCAR Dirt to Daytona, NASCAR Rumble, and NASCAR heat Evolution. Rumble and Dirt to Daytona aren't on my hitlist.....yet but After hearing about NASCAR Heat Evolution I said I'm not getting it, to this day I refuse to play Heat Evolution I have the other Heat games and had fun with them but I'm optimistic about NASCAR '21.
what about Nascsr Heat 1 or 2 you all skip over so much and yet just talked more about IRacing so was this Nascar game History or huge Promo video for iRacing
